I think Tanga-ites who actually own an HD-DVD player should get double-bids. After all, if we hadn't invoked Murphy's Law by purchasing the darn thing, Blu-Ray and HD-DVD would still be in a fistfight! ;)

[1] You can have 'em if I win. I just bid so I could get a point!

[1] Actually, Blu-Ray would still have won. The movie studios essentially bought the Blu-Ray format by turning their backs to HD (which in my opinion, is the superior technology). Boo to Blu-Ray and the movie studios!

If you win this and you don't have an HD-DVD player, I will gladly pay you the shipping charges to have them shipped to me.

[3] - Actually, Sony basically paid off the movie studios to go with Blu-Ray. In the end, it's the consumer that got screwed with a HD format that is more expensive. Oh well, prices have started to drop for players and movies.

    [4] - Me too!

Both formats lost, Netflix is now streaming HD video to the xbox 360.

that or something similar is the future

playstation 3 now has streaming movies. in hd too.

[3] I'd say something about your delusional theory about hd being superior to Bluray but I don't want to get deleted.

The future is streaming video and before long we'll be buing the movies on some sort of memory card instead of DVD.

Dragon Heart, Van Helsing and Mummy HD DVD

A Bundle of Great HD-DVD Movies!

Today's Prize is Sponsored By:

Dragon Heart
In medieval England, Bowen, a gallant dragonslayer, comes upon Draco, the last dragon on Earth (who can talk). In a scheme that keeps Draco alive and earns money for Bowen, the dragon terrorizes a town, and Bowen “kills” him to earn a reward. In the process, the two become close friends. But when King Einon, the evil ruler of the land, goes one step too far, Bowen and Draco—both of whom have been betrayed by the despot in the past—set out to defeat him. However, years ago the noble Draco gave half his heart to Einon in order to save the ruler’s life. Therefore, if Einon dies, so does Draco. Can Bowen find a way to kill Einon without losing his beloved, fire-breathing partner?

Van Helsing
Legendary monster hunter “Van Helsing” (Hugh Jackman) is summoned to mysterious Transylvania on a mission that will thrust him into a sweeping battle against the forces of darkness! With non-stop action and electrifying special effects, “Van Helsing” is an adrenaline-powered motion picture event Roger Ebert calls “Spectacular!"

Mummy
Deep in the Egyptian desert, a handful of people searching for a long-lost treasure have just unearthed a 3,000 year old legacy of terror. Combining the thrills of a rousing adventure with the suspense of Universal’s legendary 1932 horror classic “The Mummy” Starring Brendan Fraser, is a true nonstop action epic, filled with dazzling visual effects, top-notch talent and superb storytelling.
