There will be a special 4th of July Hypercross tomorrow. So I did this one - I didn't want to deny someone else their full 3-4 days. (Also, I wanted to do this one:))
Great hyper.
That was super fun!
good one... nice and quick. I do wish the Hypercross would be more accurate with the solve time... o seconds seems low.
Very nice
This was fun!
Loved it! :-) Nice theme(s)!
[4], don't sell yourself short!
Nice puzzle, esp. the last clue.
Great <waldo> <body> Puzzle! How Did <last> You <'ve Got Mail> <What Dreams May> Come Up <The Down Staircase> <Dances> With <Wolves> <Stephen King's> IT?
I can't decide if the last one was cheating or really clever. Neat theme!
That was an excellent puzzle. Thanks Arnott!
Excellent puzzle! Everyone seems to think so. So why is it only a 3 for fun? I gave it a 5.
end italics
well i tried...
.
Wow, spoofme! Magic! ;)
Loved it!
#12 = clever, not cheating
Arnott = king of hypercross
[9] Nice hack :-) I can't quite figure out which tag caused the italics though... maybe it's the apostrohes?
Definitely a 5 on the Fun-o-Meter!
Smooth and Fun!
5 Stars!
[16] spoofme's post was all italics. I added an (invisible) 'end italics' tag to the end of my post to end the italics, except it seems to be carrying on through one more word in spoofme's post. Spooky.
Spoofme, did you do something weird in your post? If you purposefully italized the first word, then it makes sense and you're a sneaky devil!
great puzzle...i admit i had to look two of them up
Always a pleasure doing an Arnott special. Thanks for a great puzzle.
[19] I think scarver accidentally created italics in post [9]. Posts 10-12 are all italicized. I added some HTML in between 'end' and 'italics' to stop the italics, but it didn't appear right away, hence the 'well I tried'
Ok. I took out my 'end italics' and the italics are back.
It's like neither your or my 'end italics' is enough, but together they turn things off.
Like I said, weird.
Here. One more to turn it off:
There.
that is bizarre
now you're just showing off! =P
That was so much fun, and I only had to look up the Fred Astaire one. The Johnny Depp one came to me in a flash out of nowhere though.
Fun puzzle, Arnott. 'Wish the clues were video clips of you talking to the products in the supermarket. :)
Good one!
Thanks, All. Even I can't decide on that last one. It is cheating a little bit, but it just seemed too fun to pass up.
[26] I actually did walk around Target with a little notepad for some of these :)
[25] Cool, I was worried the Johnny Depp one might be too obscure. I mean, the movies span about 60 years, so I knew people might have to look some of them up - like the SILK one - but I think I was right not to go with Mae West in KLONDIKE Annie.
Oh, and as for cheating... it hurt a little bit to (rightly) pass up SPLENDA in the Grass.
Excellent idea, great clues, and funny blurbs... all around top-notch puzzle!
Nice! an Easy Hyper.
What a dummy...took me a while to discover the theme. Nice puzzle.
Loved it!!!
[28]"I know, I know, it's not spelled the same but Wood & Beatty are sweet on it!"
I loved this puzzle!!!
Great puzzle!!
[33] LOL, brilliant.
