Normally I wouldn't go for straight-up image recognition, but doesn't this feel like just the right set? How can this not bring a smile to your face?

  2. AssetsRocketsandj on Sep 08, 2008 07:06 PM

Way fun! I think I may go play with my son's toys now!

  3. AssetsRocketSmijin on Sep 08, 2008 07:07 PM

  5. AssetsXylophoneDavmar on Sep 08, 2008 07:08 PM

  6. AssetsAcetinal89 on Sep 08, 2008 07:08 PM

  7. AssetsSailboathokie98 on Sep 08, 2008 07:09 PM

[1] yup... very fun! had all of them growing up except #12

  8. AssetsSailboatjgf on Sep 08, 2008 07:11 PM

    I especially had fun with #14. :)

  9. AssetsEggmarkta on Sep 08, 2008 07:11 PM

The maker of #7 gets bent out of shape (figuratively) when you spell it with that last letter. So of course I always do.
    Thanks for the fun!

  10. AssetsPumpkinrvitale68 on Sep 08, 2008 07:13 PM

    Very fun!

  11. AssetsCheeseburgerscoutmom on Sep 08, 2008 07:14 PM

Who walks down stairs, without a care and makes a ****ty sound...

  12. AssetsGarlicmartinp13 on Sep 08, 2008 07:15 PM

[9] ROFL I was just going to post the #7 is not technically correct. :)

  13. Avatar_profileAcepitbull44 on Sep 08, 2008 07:17 PM

[11} Isn't that what Santa does when he brings these toys?

  14. AssetsTomatoat8ax on Sep 08, 2008 07:19 PM

I had that same thought, markta. Probably compounded by the unnecessary S-ing of 5 and 12. But on the whole, I appreciate that I recognized all of these (and deplore how old it makes me feel).

  15. AssetsTomatotlmitch7 on Sep 08, 2008 07:25 PM

I must have a spelling error or something wrong, it won't take my answers.

    NM: found it.

  16. AssetsPeppercomishcraig on Sep 08, 2008 07:25 PM

[15] me too. I've got them all. I even refreshed and re-entered.

  17. AssetsEgggst on Sep 08, 2008 07:25 PM

You call this a puzzle? Bah, humbug!

    j/k :-)

Not much challenge, but loads of fun; thanks for the smiles...

  18. AssetsTomatotlmitch7 on Sep 08, 2008 07:26 PM

[16] I had the second part of 8 spelled wrong. You can TG me if you want to.

  19. AssetsPancakesQwertyToo on Sep 08, 2008 07:48 PM

I kept spelling #10 wrong until I remembered it ends with a double letter

  20. AssetsSailboatandythewxman on Sep 08, 2008 07:55 PM

#11 threw me off for a bit. I kept thinking they were super balls.

  21. AssetsBananasoftball80 on Sep 08, 2008 08:21 PM

I am glad you all liked it and had fun.

  22. AssetsGarlichwango on Sep 08, 2008 10:01 PM

[9], [12] - I too thought that when I filled in the answer for #7. "No, no! Collectively they are ____ elements!" I never added on the "elements," but I never added on the extra letter either. = )

  23. AssetsSailboatRunAmuck on Sep 09, 2008 07:17 AM

    Where are the Tinker Toys?

  24. AssetsPumpkinJohnQ118 on Sep 09, 2008 07:48 AM

got all but #12 straight through (a big kid - but didn't play with or own one 'o those) #13 could have a hamburger...
[23]I was looking for the Erector Set.

  25. AssetsPancakesthreehojos on Sep 09, 2008 07:57 AM

5 stars! Great trip down memory lane! :-P

  26. AssetsAppleDan4th on Sep 09, 2008 05:35 PM

the mix of generic and brand names weirded me out.

  27. AssetsGarlick1w1 on Sep 09, 2008 10:39 PM

I've no idea of what 14 is. I don't think they ever made it to NZ. Any help?

  28. Avatar_profilePlumejbocan on Sep 10, 2008 12:01 AM

    Fastest crossword ever.

But for some reason I was putting an "o" for the first vowel in #16 instead of a "u" ...strange. 8-P

  29. AssetsSailboatdagibbs on Sep 10, 2008 08:29 AM

    I don't recognise 14 either.

    There's no Meccano.

  30. AssetsRocketfenwic on Sep 10, 2008 08:29 AM

[27] That's entirely possible. Wood playthings named after the 16th president of the US.

Definitely one of the most straightfoward hypercrosses I've seen. Not much to complain about here! Cute. Nice diversion.

  31. AssetsSailboatdagibbs on Sep 10, 2008 08:30 AM

Yeah, #14 is probably the MOST american of any of the toys on the list.

  32. AssetsAppleqwertyca on Sep 10, 2008 12:46 PM

Any salt on #8? I have NO idea what that is.

  33. Avatar_profileAppletravelocity on Sep 10, 2008 02:36 PM

[32] Well, it's the only toy I know of to get close to the moon. Part of the first mission to see earthrise.

Makes the toy cooler than I am, I suppose.
