ok ... I tried thinking out of the box and wound up with the most compact HC I've ever seen ....

Won't there be 4 possible correct answers to this puzzle? Each rotated 90 degrees from the last? I'm not sure I want to spend the time to get an answer and find out I might have to retype everything 3 more times before it takes. = (

Pretty simple - and by the nature of it, you only need to answer 4 clues to solve it!
[2] no, the answer is unique!

17th. Pretty straightforward. (No hex conversion necessary)

You don't actually need to know what a magic square is to do this one.

[2] No, the clues point straight to the answer. No guesswork involved. Fun puzzle, by the way. Good job, CWarrior!

To all who corrected me, yes, I see why it can't be rotated. Never mind.

Yeah, I seriously overcomplicated this. Once I realized why it couldn't be rotated 90 degrees after all it didn't take me very long at all. Oops.

I was lazy and took the google route.

A teensy bit tedious - required a note pad for me - but very fun! Well done!

The thing that made this hard was that filling in a "common" square in a hyper does not fill it in for both "words". Was hard to keep every thing sorted out. But, that was not your fault. 2 thumbs up for trying something different and not making it lame! :)

Not really a hypercross, not worth the effort. Pass.

Very simple, but great thinking outside the box. The hex and magic square thing are almost red herrings.

Nice attempt at a change of pace on hypercrosses. The only sad thing here, is that you probably did a fair bit of work to construct a magic square, and then given the nature of the clues, we don't need to do any of the work to solve it or even check to see if it really is a magic square.
Of course, if we did need to do all that work (by leaving a couple ?s in there), you'd have tonnes of complaints that tangaites don't do math. ^_^
I enjoyed it, by the by. Don't take my critizism as anything more than encouragement to experiment again!

Nice work taking the Hypercross concept to a new level. I definitely did it like most people did, I think, taking a more "logical" approach rather than mathematical. I will admit I wouldn't want to see a LOT of these, but a refreshing change of pace now and again is good for the ol' noggin! Kudos, CWarrior!

Whether you enjoyed the out-of-the-box nature of this one or not, what I thought was nice about it was that it was, for lack of a better term, short.
If you didn't care for it, well... at least it didn't take too long to finish.
Monday's Hyper is different, too. Kind of puzzley. I expect a lot of love/hate :)

[17] Then obviously you didn't try it. Super easy and super short.
Nice change, too.
