Hey, Gang,
This Hypercross is a group effort, and was actually co-written by all of the Moderators. So even though it shows up as one of my puzzles, it's really only 20% mine.
Each of us did two clues, and what's cool, I think, is that we came up with a structure that allowed each of us to essentially "sign" the ones we did.
And though Verve and Murdoctor and I fine tuned the idea, and Cyncat came up with the title, it really all started with Leadfoot, who suggested we should try something like this in the first place.

Nice to see my avatar in some many clues ... not bad for a non-mod in a mod-based puzzle.

I so wanted to do #6:
My avatar
Picture of Ladanian Tomlinson
Picture of Harrison Ford
Just three pictures of people, each one "translated" a different way.
But I felt like a picture of Ladanian Tomlinson (or Lawrence Taylor - what is it with these football players?) was just obscure enough to be problematic.

[6] The first half is actually two words. Does that help?

OK ... I got #1, but that one was hard. I didn't go to a school that called it that.

I spent too much time trying to figure out who's avatar belonged to whom. Then I finally figured out that I didn't need to know whose was used in each clue.

That took me a bit to see it, but I ended up solving it with no salt from anyone. *proud*

Cute. And I'm with [13], I was super nervous it was going to be too specific. But it wasn't, and it was fun, so kudos to all involved!
