Any idea what #8 is? All I can think of doesn't fit (assuming I got the crossing clues correct!)

NM, I had #7 wrong. I used a dictionary solver to figure out 8.

I probably wouldn't have gotten the theme, but I just watched Love Actually tonight, and it's in the background of one of my favorite scenes with Emma Thompson...good puzzle!
