Nice! (No idea what that last thing in #3 is.)

  2. AssetsEggknights23 on Nov 27, 2008 07:10 PM

Good one! have everything but #5

  3. AssetsEggmnemonica on Nov 27, 2008 07:16 PM

    [2] same here.

edit: got it, I guess. that's a common phrase?

  4. AssetsPancakesjmcintyre on Nov 27, 2008 07:20 PM

I'm ready for a #5 after this one.

  5. AssetsPancakesthreehojos on Nov 27, 2008 07:38 PM

    A satisfying puzzle!

  6. AssetsPepperChupper on Nov 27, 2008 07:44 PM

I couldn't get my head off of "clocksucker" for #5, which is also what I was about to call hatemachine when I couldn't figure out that clue for a while.

  7. AssetsTomatobcgrote on Nov 27, 2008 08:44 PM

    Oh, those Titans!!

    [6], me too! Haha!

  8. AssetsPepperTahnan on Nov 28, 2008 02:45 AM

Mnemonica: the phrase gets 900,000 Google hits, which is over 2/3 the hits of #3, so yeah, I think it counts.

(I just figured out what those things in #3 are. I'd been seeing those long metal strips as streaks behind fast-moving objects, i.e. the beige shapes...long day, too much food.)

Thanks guys! #5 is a reference to the myth (?) that eating turkey makes you sleepy.

[9]'Wellinformed' fits the crossed clues, but isn't correct for the theme. WHat is it?

  11. Avatar_profileCarrotkulaid on Nov 28, 2008 07:14 AM

[9] Tryptophan is found in turkey, but no more than any other meats, eggs, etc. It's more the large meal, high in carbohydrates with alcohol that causes the need for #5. Blame the stuffing, the sweet potato souffle, the buttered rolls, the pumpkin pie and the wine, beer, booze.

great puzzle, I think that myth is true, as my brain is asleep STILL and I cannot get #7, any salt left on the table?

NM sigh, post and solve...the only item missing was the IMPORTANT one lol

[9] I am still stumped on #5. Clock? Alarm? Timer? Baby? Nap? Suck?

nm - got it on a guess. Not that great of a clue on that one...

  14. AssetsGrapesSHADOWLORD on Nov 29, 2008 12:33 AM

My wife and I both need a #5 after this puzzle as well [4].

  15. AssetsAppleboop on Nov 29, 2008 10:49 AM

  16. AssetsRadishby3times1minus1 on Nov 29, 2008 11:13 PM

stumped on five also. do the color or the time of the clock have anything to do with the answer?

  17. Avatar_profileOrangeDarian on Dec 01, 2008 03:53 AM

[16] Not the color, but the time does.

  18. AssetsOnionzyrilia on Dec 01, 2008 08:17 PM
