Check out my new STU status! Booyaka!

  2. AssetsGrapesgahndalph on Aug 28, 2007 07:07 PM

    got all but the cat

  3. AssetsApplemrdehate on Aug 28, 2007 07:07 PM

    That was pretty sweet.

  4. AssetsBananaethnosax on Aug 28, 2007 07:08 PM

[2] The clock was a little confusing, I thought. What does the object on the right do?

The cat is also slightly confusing. I can't think of any salt that wouldn't totally give it away.

  5. AssetsGrapesApparatus on Aug 28, 2007 07:12 PM

I have all but the top across. Any salt for that? (Aha / Sweat Graph)

[2] What turns "the cat" into its status?

  6. AssetsGrapesgahndalph on Aug 28, 2007 07:11 PM

okay I have them all, but somewhere i am making a spelling/grammar mistake

  7. AssetsPepperTahnan on Aug 28, 2007 07:12 PM

    Very cute.

  8. AssetsRocketBearcat89 on Aug 28, 2007 07:13 PM

[4] I am left wondering why you cannot salt it? Hmmm?
I know 101 Uses for that cat.

  9. AssetsGrapesgahndalph on Aug 28, 2007 07:15 PM

[4] I do know there is more than one way to skin one

  10. Avatar_profileRocketKoolKow on Aug 28, 2007 07:15 PM

what on earth is the food in the middle down one?

  11. AssetsCarrotrobrizob on Aug 28, 2007 07:18 PM

[10] Yeah, sorry. Shoulda made that one larger. It's an omelet.

  12. Avatar_profileRocketKoolKow on Aug 28, 2007 07:20 PM

ah, it probably would have been fine if I either ate omelettes or had heard of the answer - I did like the rest of the clues (=

  13. Avatar_profileOnionmtnestersoon on Aug 28, 2007 07:20 PM

I have all but the bottom across. Any salt

  14. Avatar_profileRocketgreenie on Aug 28, 2007 07:25 PM

I think I have all of them, but the cat is still a mystery.

EDIT: Of course, as soon as I ask, I got it.

  15. AssetsGrapesSeleneCorvinus on Aug 28, 2007 07:25 PM

Any salt for the top across?

  16. AssetsCarrotrobrizob on Aug 28, 2007 07:27 PM

[14] I might have better phrased it by saying "dear God, what could do such a thing?" but that's not as funny to me.

  17. Avatar_profileOnionmtnestersoon on Aug 28, 2007 07:29 PM

just not seeing the bottom one. I guess i'll have to sleep on it

  18. Avatar_profileAppleMacBeth on Aug 28, 2007 07:34 PM

    top across - think Edison

  19. AssetsRadishBetaPrime on Aug 28, 2007 07:36 PM

omelettes makes a lot more sense than taco... :)

  20. AssetsBananabuggy on Aug 28, 2007 07:45 PM

A found a quote from Thomas Alva Edison that apparently isn't right and this message has been edited for salt.

  21. AssetsTomatobcgrote on Aug 28, 2007 07:37 PM

very fun, truly not trash to me!!

  22. Avatar_profileWatermelonKent89 on Aug 28, 2007 07:38 PM

[17] That's one man's solution. Another man might stay up a little longer and try to figure it out.

  23. Avatar_profileAppleMacBeth on Aug 28, 2007 07:41 PM

[20] Might want to recheck that quote

  24. AssetsCarrotrobrizob on Aug 28, 2007 07:42 PM

[20] You're quote's not right. Edit for salt, though, anyway please.

  25. Avatar_profileGrapesxenotrim on Aug 28, 2007 07:44 PM

    Very fun and clever. Thanks.

  26. AssetsBananabuggy on Aug 28, 2007 07:47 PM

Got it. Dang internet for putting close but wrong quotes out there.

  27. AssetsPumpkinleadfoot on Aug 28, 2007 07:52 PM

    robrizob

    Fun Puzzle!! Thanks
(and congrats on your new STU status!)

-- that poor cat - snooping around too much!

  28. Avatar_profilePlumFermiDisciple on Aug 28, 2007 08:33 PM

Robzirob, fantastic puzzle tonight! I think this is the first puzzle I've given 5 stars. You've inspired me to get back working on another Hypercross.

  29. AssetsPumpkinJohn on Aug 28, 2007 08:37 PM

Had the most difficulty ignoring the "killing kittens" euphemism.

  30. AssetsDuckiedavey3 on Aug 28, 2007 08:47 PM

That was one of the better hypercross puzzles. Well done robrizob!

  31. Avatar_profileRocketchatterbox on Aug 28, 2007 10:10 PM

That was a good puzzle. Took me a while to figure out what some of these were referring to. The cat one is what made the theme click for me. Very nice! (except that omelet should have been larger. I too thought "Taco?")

  32. Avatar_profileGrapesJasonLP on Aug 28, 2007 10:17 PM

    Very fun one.

  33. Avatar_profileAcenekeel on Aug 28, 2007 10:28 PM

Poor cat nothing. The only good cat is a dead cat.

  34. Avatar_profileApplepyrok on Aug 29, 2007 12:35 AM

congrats, robrizob and welcome to the club!

  35. AssetsBananaMorganza on Aug 29, 2007 01:53 AM

Finally got them all! (With no salt, I might add!)

  36. AssetsPumpkinimapuzzl on Aug 29, 2007 06:06 AM

Bottom across was my last hole. Got stuck on Garbage in, garbage out. Nothing worked. Tried Green man/blue man, nothing there. Then it hit me right in the chest.

  37. Avatar_profileOnionmtnestersoon on Aug 29, 2007 06:14 AM

Thanks imapuzzl. That's the one that stumped me.

  38. AssetsAcecontrerasjoe on Aug 29, 2007 06:20 AM

All I have left is the Aha!/Sweat one. Any salt there?

  39. AssetsCarrotrobrizob on Aug 29, 2007 06:42 AM
  40. AssetsPepperChupper on Aug 29, 2007 07:04 AM

Is the bottom across Tanga Trash clue a common saying or a Tanga.com-specific saying/phrase? I'm totally stuck.

  41. AssetsPumpkinrunart on Aug 29, 2007 07:08 AM

I think I have them all but am making a mistake somewhere. is the omelet one "_ _ _ _ _ ing e_ _ s"??? i can't get another phrase to work like "a few e_ _ _ s" have checked spelling on the others and think i'm ok there. thanks. By the way what a fun hypercross robrizob!!

  42. AssetsPumpkinrunart on Aug 29, 2007 07:14 AM

popoopie, no it's a not Tanga specific - just think though of proverbs with that word in it.

  43. AssetsCarrotrobrizob on Aug 29, 2007 07:17 AM

    [41] Yes, that's it.

  44. AssetsPepperChupper on Aug 29, 2007 07:31 AM

Thanks [42] runart, I got it now, I was definitely too focused on Tangaisms.

  45. AssetsStrawberryLudocrazy on Aug 29, 2007 08:02 AM

    That was fun!

  46. Avatar_profilePearfreelancelot on Aug 29, 2007 08:17 AM

Fun puzzle! I even learned something new: For one-down I always thought it should be the ">" symbol rather than the "=" symbol, but after Googling it I found out I was wrong!

  47. AssetsBananajppe5 on Aug 29, 2007 08:57 AM

I think I have the second one down (from the left), but it doesn't fit. I guess I don't have it correct.

[Edit] Oh, I was forgetting an indefinite article.

  48. AssetsGrapesdantan98 on Aug 29, 2007 09:05 AM

Wow... the cat one definitely threw me. Like [29], I couldn't get past the "Kill a Kitten" reference either. It is NOT kitten, definitely cat!

For those that don't know the kitten reference...
    http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=kill+kittens
    http://www.wayodd.com/dont-kill-kittens/v/4753/

  49. AssetsPumpkinrunart on Aug 29, 2007 09:57 AM

thanks robrizob, i had the kitty wrong!!

  50. AssetsPotatoDandelion_Wine on Aug 29, 2007 02:55 PM

ROFLMAO at the dead kitty! That was too funny and apparently unlike many, one I got right away.

The omelette one threw me for a bit. At first I thought it was a "real men don't eat quiche" kind of thing until I saw some salt that it was an omelette.

[47] That one was that last one I got too because although I said it three times out loud, I was focusing on the end

  51. AssetsPumpkinJohnQ118 on Jan 26, 2010 11:06 PM

    got 'em all real quick.

    (two-and-a-half years later)
