What a ridiculous puzzle. Not worth the time or effort.

  2. Avatar_profileAcepitbull44 on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:05 PM

...and the grid looks like a piece of crap, too!

  3. FilePancakesCWarrior on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:05 PM

Hmmm ... nah, I won't say what was thinking.

  4. FilePancakeshatemachine on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:07 PM

Man some of these are just too long....

  5. FilePancakeshatemachine on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:10 PM

    Stuck on 3, 8, 10, 11, 13

  6. FileEggRPardoe on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:13 PM

Ugh...what a butt ugly layout with too few crossing letters to check anything. Nice idea, but poorly executed.

  7. FileDuckiespamwise on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:15 PM

    [5]
    3 is a song
    8 is a phrase (don't be ashamed)
    10 is a song
    13 is a thing

  8. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:17 PM

Although the layout is not user friendly, I love the theme...goes well with this one: http://www.tanga.com/puzzles/2654-3-6-2008

  9. FileDuckiespamwise on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:19 PM

[6] There are only 13 words. How many intersections do you want? Most words have 3, some have 4. I realize the answers are lenghty, but...

  10. FilePancakeshatemachine on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:20 PM

Thanks [7]. Still stuck on 8 and 11.

  11. FileRaspberryBadMagic on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:21 PM

[10] 8 is something a dog would do.

Stuck on 5 and 11 myself.

  12. FilePancakeshatemachine on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:23 PM

[11] Take a look at the sign above CW's head in #5

  13. Chain_bunnyEggIrrenarzt on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:24 PM

Only one I haven't puzzled together is 11.

  14. Img_0189Egggst on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:27 PM

Great clues! I'm digging this one...

Still looking for 3 and 11.

  15. FileDuckiespamwise on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:25 PM

    [10] Oops. I skipped 11.
11 is a song as well.
8 the parenthetical was intended to be salty.

  16. DebsAppleEVDebs on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:25 PM

Stuck on 11 and 13 and seem to have one too many letters in 10.

  17. Avatar_profileStrawberrylilyflan on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:25 PM

Come on hatemachine! You can do it! We have faith in you!!!

  18. FileRaspberryBadMagic on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:30 PM

[12] Duh. Thanks. Any salt for 11?

Edit: Got it. I try to avoid country songs.

  19. FilePancakeshatemachine on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:26 PM

    [17] LOL

  20. Img_0189Egggst on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:29 PM

[16], on 10 use present tense...

  21. FractalEggdduensing on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:33 PM

got everything but #3. Any salt besides a song?

Thanks, got it. Now something is misspelled. Drat!

  22. FileRaspberryBadMagic on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:31 PM

[21] You probably heard it last month.

  23. DebsAppleEVDebs on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:32 PM

    [20] Thanks!

    Still stuck on #13.

(Somewhat ironically, immediately after writing that last sentence, I got it!)

  24. FileDuckiespamwise on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:37 PM

[24] Can you 2 take this outside? Some people (who haven't deemed this not worth the time and effort) are trying to solve a puzzle.

  25. FractalEggdduensing on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:39 PM

I hate it when all the answers fit the grid and the theme and it doesn't take.

Is there anyone I can go over the answers with?

  26. Avatar_profileAcepitbull44 on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:39 PM

    [25] I'd love to!!!!!

  27. Avatar_profileAcepitbull44 on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:40 PM

    [26] Yes TG me

  28. FileEggj15bell on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:57 PM

despite the salt I still cannot get
    #2
    #5
    #6
    #8
    #11
    #12- post and solve
gonna go take a walk and think about it!

  29. 1212824135_mDuckiecruncha on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:52 PM

I liked this one. The clues were good, and the theme was fun.

  30. 6-9-06Xylophonehouck on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:56 PM

I got more than I thought I would
    but even with the salt
8, and 11 are still empty

  31. ImagesGarlicracheal0101 on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:54 PM

I think I have them all except 13

  32. NimmmPlumTheCrippledWerewolf on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:55 PM

[29] I can help with 11. It's something I have to do when I have insomnia and am lovestruck.

  33. ImagesGarlicracheal0101 on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:55 PM

am I going to feel silly after I get it?

  34. FileDuckiespamwise on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:55 PM

    [29]
    2 - movie/phrase
    5 - phrase
    6 - term/feature on "baby's" show
    8 - phrase
    11 - song
    12 - phrase

  35. NimmmPlumTheCrippledWerewolf on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:57 PM

Staring down 8... just 8... grrrrrrrr....

  36. ImagesGarlicracheal0101 on Fri Jan 16, 2009 07:58 PM

11 is also something I do when my dog gets out in the middle of the night. My dog "You" is not the smartest dog in the world.

  37. ImagesGarlicracheal0101 on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:00 PM

still hoping for that lightening bolt to strike my brain and reveal 13 or just some salt that clears it up for me

  38. FileDuckiespamwise on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:00 PM

#11 is 6 words long (and you know one of the words based on the theme). The time and activity are important.

  39. ImagesGarlicracheal0101 on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:02 PM

[39] got 11 hoping for 13... please please please

  40. Avatar_profileStrawberrylilyflan on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:03 PM

I admit... I was stressed when I saw the size but I'm only half way through and this one is fun. I appreciate the salt as I search. This is a good one.

  41. FilePumpkinBigSlick on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:05 PM

[40] What does a really good gymnast always do to his landing? Any help with 11?

  42. FilePepperslog on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:06 PM

[36] #8 has me stumped too.

  43. ImagesGarlicracheal0101 on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:07 PM

    [42] trade ya?

  44. FilePumpkinBigSlick on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:07 PM

    sure; hang on...

  45. 6-9-06Xylophonehouck on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:08 PM

Ah down to only ** 8 ** for me too

  46. FileDuckiespamwise on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:10 PM

#8 What would you call those pieces of fabric? (Answer uses singular.)

  47. FilePumpkinBigSlick on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:11 PM

    [44] check your tangagrams.

  48. FilePumpkinBigSlick on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:12 PM

    stupid double post!

  49. ImagesGarlicracheal0101 on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:12 PM

    got it back to ya

  50. ImagesGarlicracheal0101 on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:14 PM

    [48] did you get it?

  51. NimmmPlumTheCrippledWerewolf on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:19 PM

[47] I know what I'd like to call them... but there may be children present...

  52. FileTomatoSuperSlug on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:19 PM

    [29] Hey j! Sent ya a TG

  53. 6-9-06Xylophonehouck on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:25 PM

for #8 we know the fabric. You said it's a phrase (don't be ashamed); someone said it's something a dog would do...
but my hour and a half is almost up so I'm trying for a final post and solve epiphany.

  54. FileDuckiespamwise on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:26 PM

[54] If you do accept defeat... well, you might have the answer as you depart.

  55. 6-9-06Xylophonehouck on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:31 PM

It worked! post and solve really works!!

Thank you for a puzzler. I usually don't stay with them this long

  56. FileDuckiespamwise on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:30 PM

Looks like activity has died down a bit. I'm off to bed. I'll be back tomorrow.

  57. FilePepperslog on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:31 PM

[55] That finally got me there.

I've only heard the last part of this phrase.

  58. ImagesGarlicracheal0101 on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:31 PM

[57] goodnight That was tricky for us but you obviously put a lot of work into that one. Thanks!

  59. NimmmPlumTheCrippledWerewolf on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:43 PM

got it... apparently not the puzzle... but 8 at least...

after all that, its not taking!

  60. Avatar_profileStrawberrylilyflan on Fri Jan 16, 2009 08:48 PM

I've got 8! But 11,12 and 13 are still a question mark over my head... plugging away! Thanks for the encouragement [55]

  61. Patton_scottBananamdkiria on Fri Jan 16, 2009 09:18 PM

After over 2 hours of trials and tribulations and google searching, I am the 67th to solve. My best finish to date.

Thanks to all for your salt especially on 3, 10 & 11.

  62. FileTomatobcgrote on Fri Jan 16, 2009 09:21 PM

    #11 - I love that song! Because I'm crazy!!

  63. NimmmPlumTheCrippledWerewolf on Fri Jan 16, 2009 09:25 PM

    YEAHHHHHAARGH!!! Woo! Got it! 71st!

  64. Avatar_profilePeachbriskpiss on Fri Jan 16, 2009 09:39 PM

Thanks to CrippledWerewolf for his ingenious hints

  65. Avatar_profileStrawberrylilyflan on Fri Jan 16, 2009 10:24 PM

Yipee! I got it 73rd!!! [1] you gave up too early! This was really fun (and difficult) but totally worth it! Great job spamwise!

  66. Avatar_profileBananaLeighbra on Sat Jan 17, 2009 12:09 AM

there are intersections, but normally you have a couple intersections for each word, not for 6 words. Maybe each clue could have a hint of how many words each answer is, as a door prize for the lack of intersections.

But I love this man with a passion (the actor, not the puzzle maker, but you're swell too!). This was fun, like a fortnight's worth of cryptos in a night.

  67. FileEggj15bell on Sat Jan 17, 2009 12:26 AM

If you have not seen it yet - here is a great video of the star of tonight's puzzle:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMZwZiU0kKs
in Weapon Of Choice by Fatboy Slim.

  68. RocklipsCarrotnotyouravggirl on Sat Jan 17, 2009 07:02 AM

Fun puzzle, great topic, some challenging clues but definitely do-able. Thanks spam!!

  69. Avatar_profileAcepitbull44 on Sat Jan 17, 2009 08:14 AM

Great puzzle - thanks spam man!!!

  70. Jack_0307Radishchlte on Sat Jan 17, 2009 09:15 AM

I got a kick out of this one - Thanks! 8 was the hardest (I almost hung it up and did this on my way out) and 11 the second hardest for me. And 11 was just what it shows - you just have to figure out the order.

  71. 160Carrotbtmeyers on Sat Jan 17, 2009 11:25 AM

got it at #100. 10 was the hardest for me, but when i got it, i realized that it was the best clue of them all.

  72. FileOnionRickj4029 on Sat Jan 17, 2009 08:18 PM

After dismissing this last night as it would be a waste of more than 30 minutes of my time (I've got a life, unlike some who seem to spend all their time here), I decided tonight that there was a lot of info here for me to give it a shot.

I now realize that I was wrong! This was a poorly clued and byzantine puzzle. Though I was ultimately able to solve it, it was not fun at all trying to fill in the unclued blanks.

The title of the Patsy Cline song (presumably #11) was only the first 3 words of the answer and how anyone could have fathomed #3 from that picture is beyond me.

"A" for effort "D-" as completed.

  73. FilePumpkinJohnQ118 on Wed Feb 11, 2009 02:59 PM

[35] how to start with one clue? and some answers are songs, some are things some are phrases???
what th'hockeysticks is #2? I have some answer for all th rest ...
How about giving ONE (or three) away?
    ===igiveup-can'tget#2.

  74. FilePumpkinJohnQ118 on Fri Feb 13, 2009 12:20 PM

    this may help: http://walking.about.com/cs/music/a/walksongs_3.htm
    but what's #2 ( )? TG NY1?

  75. Avatar_profilePeachgf_ripper on Fri Feb 13, 2009 02:45 PM

I am stuck on #1 and #2 please help

  76. FilePumpkinJohnQ118 on Sun Feb 15, 2009 10:17 PM

    TY gf_r. got it finally.

#2 think singular, not plural! and drop the coatimundi.

  77. FileRocketkillerkarl2222 on Tue Feb 24, 2009 07:57 AM
