  2. FileXylophoneQurqirishDragon on Tue Jul 14, 2009 07:15 PM

  3. FileEggjohninc on Tue Jul 14, 2009 07:28 PM

[1] I know not what 10 could be.

  4. Avatar_profilePeachTheFatIdiot on Tue Jul 14, 2009 07:30 PM

    I am only missing 1

  5. FileTomatoSuperSlug on Tue Jul 14, 2009 07:30 PM

I have them, TG if you still need

  6. Avatar_profilePeachTheFatIdiot on Tue Jul 14, 2009 07:32 PM

Salt for 10, (1) her actual name, (2) Not first, but? (3) Name of the band.

  7. FileCarrotpitamuffin on Tue Jul 14, 2009 07:34 PM

    [2] Nice!

    And fun puzzle too.

  8. Avatar_profilePeachTheFatIdiot on Tue Jul 14, 2009 07:38 PM

Salt for 2, (1) Video XXX, Cassette XXX, Rollup XXX; (2) Character name on Fantasy Island, (3) Water xxx, zipper xxx, flood xxx.

Well, finally got 1 after staring at the other letters.

  9. Clothier-big-iconBananatirerim on Tue Jul 14, 2009 07:40 PM

Any help on 9? I'm completely lost.

    Edit: NM, post and solve...

  10. Avatar_profileCarrotquantamm on Tue Jul 14, 2009 07:45 PM

Salt for #9, so you don't waste time like I did: It's a phrase that the French don't use.

  11. CheemaEggcheema on Tue Jul 14, 2009 07:53 PM

Any hint of who the band is in number 10?

  12. FileTomatoSuperSlug on Tue Jul 14, 2009 07:56 PM

[11] British duo formed in 1981 by George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley

  13. FilePancakestempus42 on Tue Jul 14, 2009 07:56 PM

It's like those French have a different word for everything!

  14. SierraDuckiePix924 on Tue Jul 14, 2009 07:58 PM

Had ten semesters of French and I thought this was tricky...
well at least I could spell them right.

  15. Avatar_profilePeachFlowRW on Tue Jul 14, 2009 08:07 PM

    Sacrebleu! Beaucoup Google!

  16. FileGarlicChupper on Tue Jul 14, 2009 09:03 PM

I'm sure the French will trip some people up, but these are all used in common English (which is nothing compared to the number of English words/phrases that have been exported to other languages around the world). I think this is one of the best-clued Hypers I've ever seen, so kudos to jebediehard.

  17. Avatar_profileEggplantjammer1001 on Tue Jul 14, 2009 09:05 PM

[13] you wild and crazy guy

  18. FilePumpkinJohnQ118 on Tue Jul 14, 2009 09:28 PM

    foreignine were confusing me.
but finally I completed the outstanding showpiece of this puzzle, #9.

  19. Sexy_lips2AceCiabelle on Wed Jul 15, 2009 12:03 AM

Is it bad that I was lost on #11 for several minutes thinking that was Anna Nicole Smith instead of a Gabor sister?

  20. EarlyCarrotxanadudan on Wed Jul 15, 2009 02:18 AM

Cute idea... but some of these clues are WAY off phonetically. #9 uses french AND english pronunciations in the same phrase!

  21. 8grg3zbpu691mpv38q2nPancakesjebediehard on Wed Jul 15, 2009 02:26 AM

    [16] Merci beaucoup!

  22. ScottCarrotoberjt on Wed Jul 15, 2009 08:06 AM

Must have something misspelled, but I can't figure it out. Can I TG my answers to someone to check?

  23. FilePumpkinjeffg on Wed Jul 15, 2009 08:35 AM

#2's pronunciation is quite different from the clues', so try tinkering with the vowels a little.

  24. FileSailboatESQuire on Wed Jul 15, 2009 10:03 PM

    je ne parlez francais.

  25. P7090602Plumnutbarz on Thu Jul 16, 2009 04:25 AM

I never understood why teachers tell you to look a word up in the dictionary if you don't know how to spell it. I mean if I can't spell the word, how can I look it up?

That said, I have all the words, but I can't spell them right.

  26. KittylolxRocketjohanna on Fri Jul 17, 2009 09:55 AM

thanks [18] That was the only one I was stumped on. The others were a matter of getting the spelling right since I never took French. Amazing how many close but not quite right spellings come up with google.

  27. Avatar_profileBananacapetrus1 on Sat Jul 18, 2009 11:53 AM

    my spelling is off....frustrating

  28. Dumb02Garlicsammydb on Fri Sep 10, 2010 12:42 PM

  29. Bp3Raspberryendel3 on Fri Oct 22, 2010 01:45 PM

The only real question I have is what is a manage at roo?

Had to enter about half into google for spellcheck...
