    Fun puzzle.
I kept writing "house" instead of what I should have been writing.

  2. AvatarCarrotrobrizob on Thu Sep 06, 2007 07:09 PM

Congrats on finding a fertile pre/suffix!

  3. FileDuckienrkii on Thu Sep 06, 2007 07:10 PM

I'm stuck on the top one across - help?

  4. FileDuckienrkii on Thu Sep 06, 2007 07:11 PM

    [1] you of all people?

  5. FileBananaethnosax on Thu Sep 06, 2007 07:14 PM

I think I have all the right answers, but no dice. I don't even know how to guess which one is wrong. sigh

EDIT: Aha...I found two incorrect (but in my opinion, workable) answers for the far left down. Now I've got it. Clever puzzle.

  6. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Thu Sep 06, 2007 07:14 PM

having problems with the men's room... (man I had to chuckle after wrote that :-)

  7. FileDuckienrkii on Thu Sep 06, 2007 07:15 PM

leadfoot, think Upstate New York and Halloween

  8. FileDuckienrkii on Thu Sep 06, 2007 07:19 PM

sorry to nag, but any help on the top one across?

-- ha! I didn't even intend to make that pun!

  9. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Thu Sep 06, 2007 07:16 PM

    [3] nrkii
I think you have an on again/off again problem...

  10. FileBananaethnosax on Thu Sep 06, 2007 07:16 PM

[3] Well, you probably know what it starts with. :) Just start saying all the things that symbol can mean. Eventually, the proverbial light bulb will turn on.

[6] Is there any unusual feature on that men's room sign?

  11. FilePancakesArnott (Tanga Admin) on Thu Sep 06, 2007 07:16 PM

[6] One of the better clues, actually. Nice HC.

leadfoot -- thanks! That did it!

  14. FileGarlick1w1 on Thu Sep 06, 2007 07:32 PM

Hmm, I have them all but something is wrong.
    Anything spelled oddly?

  15. FileDuckienrkii on Thu Sep 06, 2007 07:34 PM

[14] the only thing I noticed spelled oddly was the peanuts character

  16. FileGarlick1w1 on Thu Sep 06, 2007 07:36 PM

Yeah, I think I got that one: ley?

  17. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Thu Sep 06, 2007 07:38 PM

    yes "ley"

  18. FileGarlick1w1 on Thu Sep 06, 2007 07:39 PM

Well, I'm blowed if I can see which one is wrong.

  19. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Thu Sep 06, 2007 07:49 PM

    [18] k1w1

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you... check your GM

  23. FileGarlick1w1 on Thu Sep 06, 2007 08:11 PM

    Done and done.
    Thanks for your assistance leadfoot.

  24. FilePotato2bites on Thu Sep 06, 2007 08:31 PM

I thought the far left was a theme's rear. couldn't figure why that was incorrect.

    Fun puzzle thanks.

  25. Tanga-pink-avatarBananaMorganza on Thu Sep 06, 2007 09:12 PM

OK, I finally had the oomph to get the top one...

A few of the clues here were clever. Not hard, but clever.

  26. ApparatusGrapesApparatus on Thu Sep 06, 2007 09:15 PM

I like the normal "themed" hypercross puzzles.

  27. ApparatusGrapesApparatus on Thu Sep 06, 2007 09:14 PM

Glad people seemed to like it.

  28. Avatar_profileApplekswitz on Thu Sep 06, 2007 09:25 PM

cute. except I spelled the peanuts character answer wrong.

  29. ApparatusGrapesApparatus on Thu Sep 06, 2007 09:32 PM

[28] I debated on using him for the clue but couldn't really find any clue that led to the proper spelling so I figured easy recognition would be better.

  30. Avatar_profileApplepyrok on Thu Sep 06, 2007 09:41 PM

Very good puzzle. Clues were clear and other than the misspelling of the clue with Mr. Brown, pretty clean to work through!

  31. FileOnionJohn on Thu Sep 06, 2007 11:24 PM

Is that a Michael Vick nike?

  32. AvatarApplebagherra on Fri Sep 07, 2007 06:14 AM

I think the condom could have been used without the brandname just as effectively

  33. FileRocketBearcat89 on Fri Sep 07, 2007 06:26 AM

[32] Agreed. Or a photo of the "Tommy" statue at the University of Southern California would have been clever.

Overall, this was a very fun and easy puzzle. Nicely done.

  34. ApparatusGrapesApparatus on Fri Sep 07, 2007 06:40 AM

    [31] Yes, yes it is...

[32][33] I thought of that as well but I wanted to give a few near obvious clues to help the theme along. That makes it an easier puzzle but can also sway the fun level for some.

  35. MeGrapesgahndalph on Fri Sep 07, 2007 06:42 AM

    finally got it

    thought it was a beet

  36. Ronald-mcd-3EggKilgore on Fri Sep 07, 2007 08:43 AM

I don't get the good:evil clues. Any salt?

  37. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Fri Sep 07, 2007 09:08 AM

    [36] Kilgore
The opposite of good is evil

The opposite of the front of a piece of paper is the ______ of a piece of paper...

  38. Ronald-mcd-3EggKilgore on Fri Sep 07, 2007 09:11 AM

    ah- TY leadfoot

  39. FileSailboatIlta on Fri Sep 07, 2007 09:55 AM

    [24] Me too!

Nice puzzle, not too hard yet still enjoyable. I especially enjoyed the "mens room" clue.

  40. Head_shotBananajppe5 on Fri Sep 07, 2007 12:12 PM

I was stuck on the top across. I got it, but it wasn't as easy as all the rest. * switch didn't fit.

  41. Carnival_victoryWatermelonadamondi on Fri Sep 07, 2007 01:32 PM

The only one that threw me was the spelling for Mr. Brown's clue.

  42. FileOrangedconk04 on Fri Sep 07, 2007 01:54 PM

I must be making this way too hard on myself...

  43. FilePotatoDandelion_Wine on Fri Sep 07, 2007 02:31 PM

Funny enough, I put the Peanuts characters full name in and it fits in the spaces - I thought to myself well that's a major departure from the theme. When I got to the bottom 3 across - none of them fit. Once I got one of them I saw the error in my ways.

[42]I'll be here a couple more minutes. If you're still out there, feel free to GM me.

  44. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Fri Sep 07, 2007 06:50 PM

    [43] Dandelion_Wine
    I did the same thing!!!

  45. FilePumpkinJohnQ118 on Mon Mar 30, 2009 03:25 PM

    #3 is NOT 'HORSESASS'

  46. FileOnionPatanga on Sun Jan 22, 2012 03:08 PM

didn't like the switch clue at all.....don't know how to salt it....maybe an engine would have been clearer?
