I am going out of my mind here. . .I KNOW I have 1-19 correct, and 20 seems quite obvious to me, but it's not taking. I've gone over everything a dozen times.
Is the fact that the pieces in #20 are not lined up by normally assigned value important? None of the salt is taking for me so far. I know I'm gonna feel so stupid later.
Well I got it by guessing but I still don't see the answer in clue #20.
Post and understand!!! [48] I was looking at the wrong board too. LOL
I got all the clues. I get the point of #20 [very good].
I just can't get all the pieces to fit. I have re-adjusted' three answers already. This one will just stay in finished.
Well, I solved it I still don't understand how the answer to #20 follows from the clues. I only got it thanks to comments like [37], [38] and [52].
Can someone send me a TG and explain how the clues work?
And apart from anything else I have to agree with [38], #20 works opposite to all the other clues.
I've got them all filled in, but it's not taking. I'm guessing number 5 is the culprit, but nothing I've come up with works, or even really fits the pattern.
WOW how very, very clever! Now I get why everyone is saying they are looking at the wrong board! DUH! For #20, I kept stepping away from my laptop & the entire background would go away leaving only the black chess pieces showing but that was no help. [52] did it for me, & I felt like I had an IQ below 100 when I saw it. Light bulb ON. :)
Very cute last clue. Overall, a fairly tricky one.
Nice one Jeb. It took a little thin, but I finally got it.
damn - 23rd! Go me!
got it except for #20...lost on me....
actually have 20 now i think, but not taking...will dbl check clues..
Very nice, best hypercross I've ever done.
cute puzzle
Another nice one jebediehard!
Impressive design. Thank you.
is 5 a homonym of an antonym of "strong"? my answers aren't taking////
Got everything but #20; any salt?
[9] It's plural.
[10] Just follow directions. Don't you hate that advice?
I am going out of my mind here. . .I KNOW I have 1-19 correct, and 20 seems quite obvious to me, but it's not taking. I've gone over everything a dozen times.
Is 20 not what it appears to be or something???
[10] the clues in 20 will lead you to the answer....take a step back and look---follow the instructions....it will be conoviceincing....
Agreed. Loved the last clue.
[12] I think #5 might be messing people up. And maybe #6.
That was a pretty darn cool hypercross.
Tricky. I liked that one a lot. The last clue made me grin, very well done.
Nice, still managed to get 73rd. #5 was my stumbling point though I didn't know it -- Thanks [11]
I got 20, but something must be mispelled; it still isn't taking.
[11]thanks, but still not taking....arrrggghhhh
[20] TG sent.
My most favorite puzzle yet!
Very nice, very enjoyable. Challenging and rewarding.
99th. I suppose 2 bonus points are better than none. :)
Salt for #20: consider everything you see as all one word.
That one was driving me NUTS! I needed help.
Wow - I know I was late tonight, but this one made me glad I still stopped by. This is definitely one of my favorite hypercrosses!
Excellent puzzle Jebediehard! [2]I was thin for quite a long time.
Any salt on #5?
I'm stuck on 5. I have the rest... Salt or TG please!
[29] tg
FUN and taxing puzzle! speaking of which, it's time to get back to doing mine.
Nevermind. The ol' Post & Solve works again!
Thanks for the help... it was a not seeing the forest for the trees issue...
A big "thank you" goes out to Murdoctor for bringing this puzzle to its final destination!
I'm pretty sure I have everything but 20 correct - none of the salt helps... TG please:)
Thanks for the help - great puzzle!
can't see #20
Jeb, that was just breathta.
Some of you guys sure make me feel like a ie!
[37] Isn't that the real answer?
Does #20 break the rules of the puzzle?
I just can't get it to take! Don't know what's missing or wrong,
Wow!! Great puzzle, but may be harder for a beginner.
Wow. Very enjoyable.
stumped. #1 & #20
===
Thanks, got it !
[33] :)
[38] Yes, the answer for #20 is different from the rest, in that it includes something the others don't.
[42] For #1, the answer is pretty much given to you... with a little extra.
Finally had the light dawn on #1 and had several others slightly wrong but still totally stumped on #20. Is the Good Luck sign important in solving?
[44] study the shapes in the clue (#20) and see what is left.
[44] It's a hint for following the instructions given.
Is the fact that the pieces in #20 are not lined up by normally assigned value important? None of the salt is taking for me so far. I know I'm gonna feel so stupid later.

Ach! I was looking at the wrong board...
[47] The answer isn't in clue #20. Clue #20 tells you where to look for the answer.
got it #20...but dont get it
[32] Thanks for making the lightbulb go on for me!
Great puzzle, Jebediehard. I am going to have to adjust your keyboard with a hammer, but a good puzzle anyway!

I got all the clues. I get the point of #20 [very good].

[52] Heh. Solved the whole thing without checking this far down. What a blast, jebediehard. Tons of fun, thanks!

And apart from anything else I have to agree with [38], #20 works opposite to all the other clues.
[55] Heh, you're gonna slap yourself when you get it, especially after looking at [52].
I got stuck on #6 until I remembered the entire title of the show.
I've got them all filled in, but it's not taking. I'm guessing number 5 is the culprit, but nothing I've come up with works, or even really fits the pattern.
I've got something for number 5, but something's still wrong. Can I TG my answers to someone to check? PLEEEEAASSSSSSSEEE???? :)
Freaking #5. Make sure you follow the same rules as the others.
#5 was terribly misleading almost unfair.
The obvious answer is not correct. The two words must be set side by side with the second being plural before you apply the rule.
Quite deceptive!
Still an excellent effort.
