Solved it, but I seem to be missing any theme if there is one.

Ugh I have no idea what the white thing is where you would put a statue.

I couldn't find a theme either, unless it is that every answer is 5 letters long.

[4] Think of what Tanga serves, compared to other deal-of-the-day sites.

Hey, if this is all it takes to create a Hypercross theme, then I'm proud to announce, coming soon:
Three Alive (created by ethnosax)
Four Alive (created by ethnosax)
Six Alive (created by ethnosax)
...and a number of other puzzles I'm sure you'll enjoy. :)
Another possible theme is that each of the answers (except one) features at least one letter that is also found in the title "Five Alive." Ok, enough kidding. My life is barely affected by this puzzling Hypercross, after all.
[8] Sam Neill and Laurence Fishburne could tell you that that calendar date is on the Horizon (1997).

I can't figure out the airplane one, nor the vase/alcove/shelf thing near the bottom.

[10] most of the time a plane does what that one is doing.
And Tanga seems to cater to a _____ market.

Needed a crossword solver for the bottom left across, got the rest.
I don't know if there was a theme or not, but that happens a lot for me.

Enough complaints. I think it's cute. I don't have time to slave away looking up who people are on the internet by a picture. It is thuroughly frustrating and I refuse to do it. It's nice to have satisfaction from a relatively simple puzzle. I liked it.

Very nice puzzle. Sometimes you need a simple one to convince yourself that your aren't losing it. The only salt was [12] I don't think I would have ever guessed that word.
