I have all the but the trombones. I'm stumped with it.
EDIT: Well, solved it by process of elimination.
[1] A musical about a swindler.
Cool little puzzle, only had to google once.
[1]it was quite easy for me given the puzzle that i created a couple weeks ago. http://tanga.com/puzzles/1441-9-3-2007
Trombones has to do with a song.
Refreshingly different...loved the 80s song references. Nice puzzle!
I was wondering how long it would be before this type of puzzle was put up. Not a bad one.
Guessing on the balloons,
but have no clue about the dog...
the balloons is a famous german song re-lyricized in english
the dog isn't about the dog, it's about the picture
[7] i think there is a song about the balloons, and what is the dog?
just of note, the temperature one is iffy
my normal temperature is higher than the stated amount.
99.1 to be specific (which isn't the answer)
help for the phone jenny? it doesnt seem to match her number.
I don't get the bottom one across. the one with the web page.
[8] bagherra
Thanks - my guess for the balloons was wrong, enabling my process of elimination on the picture to be short. Still don't know "why" it is what it is, but then again - I don't really need to know...
[12] that web page is an often seen error #
great, how do I get that error to happen so I can find the number?
never mind, I just googled error, and it came up with a drop down list that included the answer before I ever even did the search -- thank you google tool bar
[15]
I was one off the right one, and found the right one at wiki...
BTW - neat puzzle! The Aha! was particularly satisfying
Thanks for the shout out with my own personal clue.
Another great hypercross tonight ... that was fun!
[11] it's from a song.... they sing the number....
Very nice. Very new. Fresh. Ingenious.
[11] comment #17 is all the salt you could want.
Very good hypercross! Although for some reason I had digits in the days of the year transposed and it took me 10 minutes to figure it out ;)
Damn you, Tommy Two-Tone!
Fun puzzle!
Anyone looking for another puzzle?

I can't believe I still remember Jenny's number right on top of my head. Of course, I have to sing it to get it out.
Ahh, good ol' Steve Stringbean...
"75 trombones is what you have
"And if you march down the field you can blow them..."
I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I keep getting, 'sorry that is not correct'.....
Is there any special input for the temperature one?
[28] Remember that this is an American site.
fun times
the number of trombones doesn't matter.
I loved this one, only had trouble with the Galaxy Book but it was easy enough to guess.
Seems like some knowledge of songs would help.
I've always wanted to do a crossword with numbers. Thanks.
This one was fun... I was stumped by the trombones and sadly the calendar... I had the first and last number and the phone number on the calendar threw me off... Fun one.
Nice idea... good to get a break from letters once in a while :-)
Geeky fun!
2 thumbs up!
came back to it, and still no luck. I think every answer is right so I am still wondering about the usage of a decimal point in the 1st one down. [29]mentioned to remember this is an American site, and I know that, and don't understand that salt.
I love this variation to the theme. It was great being able to use numbers instead of words as my spelling is horrible. Thank you, buggy!
cute puzzle, uses all kinds of things I didn't know you could use in a hypercross.
[37] I think 29's salt was making sure you use fahrenheit instead of celsius (or kelvin, or rankine...). Your problem probably isn't with the decimal.
[37] Kilgore
the decimal point belongs in there...
That was fun. Opens up a lot of possibilities to use symbols, wing dings, numbers, letters, and all combinations of same.
I'm like Kilgore--I think I've got them all right but it's turning me down.
NM, it was the trombones.
Now I'm humming "xx trombones lead the big parade." Thanks a lot!!!
At first I was counting the balloons. This isn't what one is supposed to do. They aren't all in the picture :)
can someone take the top off the shaker for the dog? who is the artist?
[45] How much is any picture worth?
[46] buggy
Thanks! That was bugging me last night even after I solved it.
BTW - great puzzle! Very Fun!
[45] it doesn't matter who the artist is, or what the subject is...
Clever, original, and refreshing! =-D
I'm blank of the galaxy book - got all the rest. This is my first try at Daily Fun. I'm a newbie, but this is a lot of fun!
[49] wiki
[1] Same here. Did the same thing for the solve.
[49] It's the answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything
I did it
It had a pug, best puzzle ever
Thought the book cover had to do with author's age when he died. Took some reading to find that one. Loved this puzzle.
Haha, trombones were easy for me, I played Marcellus! (Hope that's not too much of a clue - first post on tanga)
