Alrighty then... Either I'm way to old for this stuff or way too young... OR... I just really can't figure out the theme. I literally can't get a single one. I mean, I get words the fit the length, but I don't have any of those as "definite answers."
I have everything but 14...the one thing I think it can be doesn't fit with 7 which I'm sure is right...unless there's an alternate spelling I don't know of...
[11][14] That was why I added #12.
[18] Mine, too :)
[19] I definitely considered it, but then it wouldn't be symetrical with what you're doing to all the other clues.
[29] It does. Just figure out what goes in those question marks, and then, er... do the thing that you're supposed to do. (EDIT) That's why the question marks are ?? ??????.
I love #10's clue and answer. The only one I had any trouble with was #14, because I was using the correct pronunciation for the name of the drink, rather than the American one.
That was probably the best set of clues I have seen in a hypercross. Subtle, phonic, but clear and unequivocal once each clicked in. No particular domain knowledge, generational experience or face recognition required. As many other have said, #8 was a challenge - but when I got it, it really exercised my "AHA" reflex.
And not a single goat, salt shaker, or stick of butter in the lot!
LOL, I scheduled these for tonight, since I knew it was the one night this week I'd be around... so, of course, something came up and I can't be here.
See you tomorrow. Everyone play nice.
Excellent!
Whew, great clues! Tough, but I got it!
Oy.
I had to write out #17 to get it. Fun set, Arnott!
17 made me think for a while. Good puzzle.
14 was my fav
Fun a-ha moment! Thank god it came to me on #17. I had no idea before.

Grr... struggling with #17 even after writing it out
Woohoo! Never mind, the second I stopped trying I got it
This one was great fun. My favorites were #8 and #14!
[15] I wanted two before #13

Ok, time for bed...
10 & 17 are giving me a fit
Is that a nerd or a dork?
I have everything but 14...the one thing I think it can be doesn't fit with 7 which I'm sure is right...unless there's an alternate spelling I don't know of...
edit: Finally got it :) I'm a freakin' genius!
I liked #15 best!
cant get #14 and #17
got #17
I'm having trouble with #6- I think its something Bart Simpson might say, but I can't make it work right.
#14 that's sake
#17- "whats love got to do with it?"
#8 doesn't seem to follow the formula, I don't get it!
Edit: OK, I guess you need to add the "so" in there as is in "he's SO..."
This was the hardest of the bunch, everything else was fairly straight forward. I used a crossword solver to finally get it.

And thanks, all!
#8 may be the best clue ever. EVER! :)
As an employee of #2, I got a kick out of that one. :-)
I love #10's clue and answer. The only one I had any trouble with was #14, because I was using the correct pronunciation for the name of the drink, rather than the American one.
[22] I am sorry you are having trouble.
Keep your Eye out for clues.
LOL. I've never heard #15 as a three-syllable word before.
good stuff. #8 was awesome. however, #14 kicked my rear.
8 gave me fits, but I finally got it. Great puzzle.

Well done
Really excellent.
I checked everything but I must have missed spelling somewhere! Argh!
Just found it. I misspelled 6. The spelling I had returned plenty of results on Google so I didn't realize my mistake!
I have to pile on the kudos ... great clues. (and 14 was the best. and 8.)
(... and 15 and 17 and 6.)
15 was the kicker for me. i wasn't taking the pictures literally like i was supposed to... i thought the pics were a lead into something else
nice puzzle!
[41] Yes, that's specifically why #12 is there: to correct your spelling on #6 :)
[39] Wow, thanks. I'm very proud of this one, so that really means a lot to me.
Loved the eighth clue......lol.
The last one provides a great 'aha'....just say it a couple of times out loud. Nice job, Arnott.
