thanks [15]. that actually got me the answer. that is pretty funny. too bad i couldn't get it til now. i solved all the other ones really fast but got 89th cuz i couldn't figure out the last one. oh well.
I learned #8 as having three more letters at the beginning of the word (and not the ones referenced in the final clue). For anyone else stuck on it, chop off the first three letters and try again.
[24] - that is funny, I actually got the answer to #8 using a dictionary and finding the only word that fit, but I had no idea of how it related to the clue. Now after seeing your comment I understand why it is the right word!
Still have not got #16 though - If anyone can add any salt to that which has already been liberally sprinkled I would appreciate it. Is it a single word or a phrase/compound word? I can't imagine a word so long.
Edit:
Finally got it - thanks to the wheelbarrow full of salt from [25], [28] & [32]. Not to mention one oblique tangagram...
My brain cells are obviously rusty, I loved that number growing up.
Fun!
Cute
as always, zip through and get stuck on the real clue (16)
[3] I'm with you...
Post and solve (and I got a good chuckle out of it!).
(3) same here
post and solve works again
great puzzle
Excellent again Jebediehard! Took a minute for the last one. We didn't have any of those in the town where I was born.
Good puzzle!
no post and solve for me, but thats nothing new
But he isn't!
Great one! Clue #16 was a stumper but awesome when I got it. [6] hubby loved your salt...
Good one! I especially appreciated #16. I used to swap stories with a man who sailed the sea.
is the last clue an action or noun?
Very nice!
Nice. Reminds me of a dream...
[12] Not an action, but not just a noun, either.

I've got 16, no problem, but as a non-golfer, I'm stuck on 6.. Off to google I go... Maybe I'll get lucky..
EDIT: Found the answer here: http://www.worldgolf.com/wglibrary/reference/dictionary/

great clue for #16 - much better than the obvius one
Very fun, Jeb. Thanks
[12] [15] perhaps it's more accurate to say that last clue not a "common noun".
Completely lost on 16...
edit: another post and solve..
#16 is highly related to #14's clue.
[21]..and the Band Begins to Play.. for your P'n-Solve
[18] Thanks for the salt. I was stuck on that one for hours. Never realized that the thick black bar in #8 was a minus sign...
I recognized the uniform in #16 immediatly because I have two boys serving in this branch of the military. That color should be dress blue!

Wife figured it out just as I did, she just said it first. It's all in the mind you know.
[26] Two words. A rather peculiar place to call one's home perhaps, but a certain collective does anyway.
well, duh, so easy, yet so hard - very good jeb, need to renew my Games magazine subscription to get the old brain cells firing again!
[18][24] It's ironic that the MINUS sign was not that clear, don't you think.
[22] Thanks, that got me over the top.
[17] As for #6, I play golf and I had to use your link to figure out what they were doing. Maybe that's why I play the way I do.....
[26] As [28] mentions, #16 is two words.
If all else fails, let clue #14 guide you...
[25] Thank you!! The color comment helped so much!
stumped on #16...the salt doesnt help me apparently.
got it...wow...should have been obvious
A lot of work, and lots of fun. thanks.
when the final hit me - it nearly knocked me off the chair !
Stuck on 8 because I was COMPLETELY IGNORING the right side of the image. D'oh!
that last one took me way too long.....I was slow to recognize the color....groan.
