I'm really happy I spelled #4 correctly. I think that was the hardest one to get right.

  2. AssetsRaspberryjayvil on Jan 31, 2010 07:05 PM

Not too hard, not too EZ. Just right!

  3. AssetsRocketmeshneiarin on Jan 31, 2010 07:07 PM

Thanks, Philana! Another fun one. #9 really takes me back! :)

Same here [4,] ended up 2nd, 88th and 95th - first time for that. Great set of puzzles tonight Philana!

any salt for #13? I have both end letters :( 1 letter to go but i can't make anything out of it.

I'm sorry, maybe it's just me, but I could REALLY, REALLY have done without #8 being on here. That rather seriously fails the Breakfast Table Test, and I'm actually feeling kind of rattled at having to type it in.

[8] ... it's definitely not just you. Glad I'm not the only one who felt that way about it.

  10. AssetsApplephosrik on Feb 01, 2010 01:13 PM

[8] [9] Ok let's just wipe out the word from the all languages. Erase it from all history books. Throw someone in jail for even mentioning it. Shall we also ban the words Rwanda, Twin Towers, Kamakazi, Darfur and so on? I swear, too many PC people.

    [7] I'm stuck on #13 as well.
[10] Thank you - Glad someone said it.

[10] and [11]: you are, to be perfectly clear about this, idiots. I didn't say we should never use the word. Never forgetting is pretty central to my beliefs, in fact.

The "Breakfast Table Test" (as Philana is, I am pretty sure, aware) says that certain things don't belong in *puzzles*, things where people are trying to have fun and don't want to be reminded of particularly emotional things (diseases, disasters, and so forth).

  19. AssetsApplephosrik on Feb 08, 2010 12:29 AM

The "Breakfast Table Test", as you put it, is for people that are hyper sensitive. As someone who actually believes in free speech (unlike a certain political party that claims that as well but in reality only believes in speech that they happen to agree with) I do not get worked up over someone using a word that has historical significance. Even if that significance is on the evil end of the spectrum.

#13 worked - trial / error.. good thing was quick .. but i dont get it

and as for the PC stuff.. its only a puzzle, theres no negative connotations here in the answer or in the clues -- if there were anything hurtful/hateful then even i would be upset too

[8][9] i'm with you. i come to tanga for fun and games. seeing that answer here was like a punch in the gut for me.
