Full Disclosure: even though I built all of these clues and the grid, the original idea for this puzzle came from colleen77777.
She will get Tanga Points for that.
**** SPOLIER ALERT ****
She had submitted this Hyper with only four clues in it. We asked her if she could finish this by today, but she admitted that she didn't have the time and gave me the okay to take her idea and run with it.
Which I did.
Only after I finished, did she send me her clue list. As it turned out, I only used three of her answers! There were that many other good ones.
Here are the ones from her list I didn't use:
Freedom fighters
freebird (Song)
freedent (gum)
freesia (Flower)
freeze
freewilly (Movie)
freestone (as in peach)
freechecking
freeparking
freeshipping
I had three more that I photoshopped that just wouldn't fit nicely into the grid: Speech, Agent, and Market. And, no joke, there are at least 10-15 others that could also work here.
Thanks, colleen77777.
Having a problem with 11 and 12....know both answers but they don't fit together....ok got it....wasn't thinking I guess
Colleen7777 is my friend here on Tanga. Do I get Tanga points for that? :) And no, knowing her did not help me solve the puzzle quickly-ish!
[2] perhaps you need to rethink #12. The spelling comes from the larger word, not the pic.
[2] - I agree, there is something odd about 11 and 12 since the answers seem obvious but one is not a real word...
Edit: well okay so I solved the puzzle but I have to say I am not too thrilled with #5 and and #12 since the rest are real words. But I also have to say that if one understands the theme that is more of an annoyance than an real problem - since they are pretty to solve combining the sounds with the theme.
So it all evens out I guess.
[2] Some of the answers are not words.
ok on short notice especially..not a fan of the ferrell/bee cross...
[2] Use the compound word spellling there and in 5.
Same problem as (2)
Everything fits and mine won't take, and I have the correct middle letter in 5.
Anyone who's having a problem....if you want to TG me what you've got, I'll check it for you.
Nice job!
107, my highest yet!
Sent [11] Thanks.
wtf is 12? I can't get it >:(
edit: argh 5 only made sense if you said it with a 'southern american accent' imo. I would never have gotten that without soccer-ref's help.
Go photogal! [13]
Ok that was frustrating but only because I am once again working from a phone. Just as I clued in on the theme, the phone interpretted my fat finger as a desire to visit Arnott's profile. Then I had to re-enter everything again...twice!
Very nice puzzle all the same and I have no problem with the cluing/spelling now that I *get* it.
[15] SOUNDS like you might need to figure out the puzzle theme, and you will get it.
[12] - yeah, if you look at my whining in [5] that might give you an idea what you need to be looking for....
Nice work on short notice. Let dom ring!
Guess I'm alone on this one.... I'm having trouble with #8. I have the rest of them.. I must be spacing.
edit* NVM. needed the correct name of the tool.
i get it! (FINALLYYYYY)
definitely stumbled on #12 for a while. Not the spelling but the word itself. which is odd, because I had the theme so it should have been easy-cheesy.
[23] et al... yeah, I won't be trying that again :)
[1] Darn those spoliers! :)
