Fun one - thanks, must67!
Only one of them (#3) I've never heard before, but easy enough to get.
I think I have them all but the answer is not taking. Anyone want to check my answers?
Maybe I have #12 wrong because of the tense does not seem right but I am not sure.
Edit: figured out my stupid spelling mistake on #4. Got the singular/plural wrong.
[3] Sure, you can TG me.
i love this!!! but just cant figure out #3. like soccer-ref... obviously never heard of it.
post and solve!!!
Fun, but didn't quite get what #3 had to do with anything....
[5] Oh, I GOT #3, just never heard of it before. The first part's easy enough, but the second word is not BEARD.
[5] you've heard of them...just not as a saying like the other clues...you'll get it
sheesh! my missppellinggs!
[7] yeah, it took me a minute to move away from the beard.
[8] and you're right i have heard of them!! but as you say it is just a bit different from the other clues.
still really liked it must67!!!!
2 and 4 don't fit for me. any help???
Yeah I am totally lost on #3 still. :(
I was starting to feel like a couple of the clues. I will leave it to you to figure out which ones....
Got all but 5, any salt? Even a grain for first pic.
[11] #2 is a specific kind of bird. #4 is the gender of the deer.
Also struggling with 5.
[14] For #5, salt would be ok, but I'd prefer some barbeque sauce, I think.
[12] second pic is a little long, think a day or 2.
Thanks Soccer Ref. Too easy. Kicking myself!
#3 came from my grandmother I remember her talking about my grandfather and these.
Edit: #3 is from the 1920's and means the same thing as #1 (or this feline's meow or pajamas). Here is a site for all kinds of expressions: http://users.tinyonline.co.uk/gswithenbank/sayindex.htm
I know 2 and 4 but they don't cross correctly which means something is wrong. I don't get it
[20] Since the first one rhymed and I found a way to get #2 to rhyme, I was thrown for a loop when I got to #3 and couldn't figure any variation of cat or beard that would 1) rhyme and 2) take up that many letters! lol... By #4, I had figured out the theme better but #3 was still the last one for me. Perfectly fair, though.
[21] two tents sp? #10 had me cuz so many years in G'ville FlL, I was pre programmed.
i know 2 and 4 (or i think i do) but 4 soesn't match up with 2 D:
[24] #2 doesn't rhyme if that helps at all.
for the longest time, I had the wrong reptile for #10. I don't know why, my daughter has perfected the art.
stuck on 3! any clues?
nm: just had to think through alternate names
Aw, must67, FUN, but I guess my favorite was too hard to clue:
DogBreath!
I had #4 wrong, but I had the plural, not the singular.
Thanks, must67! Fun puzzle.
[28] Maybe with a picture of Gypsophila...
heh. catbeard. apparently not a common phrase.
For anyone still struggling with #3, the second pic would be better if it was on the animal in the first pic. For #4, the second pic is singular.
[33] Sorry, it was a typo. I did a copy/paste and I apparently didn't pick up everything I wanted to paste, so got the front of one thought, end of another. Oops!
[32] Well, I was struggling with #3 but after that salt, I struggled even more. The second word is plural.
[36] Thank you
lol...catbeard.
I too struggled with #10 which in turn made #5 impossible, as I likewise had the wrong reptile...thank you [26]!
[33] Sorry....I fixed the comment
Thank you, must67...I was going crazy with #3. That list of sayings is pretty fun to look over, btw.
#3 would have benefitted from a better, more accurate picture of the second part. But otherwise, stellar puzzle!
^Agreed, #3 should have been pointing to the man's mustache and not his beard. I've never heard of anyone referring to a man's beard as that.
