[22] edit - sorry, thought you were talking about [16]. The check-out person can also be called the... The resulting word is an adjective not very commonly used.
For those that still don't have it, I found #5 to be the easiest place to start. You know the name of that insect, don't you? It's 4 letters long... but there's only 3 letters in the answer... Hmmm... looking at the title, I wonder what I need to do?
Or take a look at #7. You know what that word is too most likely. But again, it's 6 letters and there's only 5 in the answer. I think I see a pattern. :)
And keep in mind what [6] said. (Even if he is obliquely slamming an earlier hyper, his comment should still be helpful to folks that are stumped).
The horse in #8 gave me the most trouble. Got the rest almost as fast as I could click. By the time I got to #6, I already had both cross words, so that helped a lot.
Shoot - just missed a triple 1st by one (but I'll take it! *grin*).
Tricky!
Fun one, thanks!!!
Awesome! #5 gave me the theme and #8 gave me trouble but the crossword solver helped me see I wasn't interested in the age of that horse... :)
flew through them til i got tripped up on the horse (#8)
nm: got it
...and they were all real words!
[5] Little Joe Cartwright always road one.
funny... i had the same experience. got all of them except 8, and then took a few minutes figuring that one out.
Loving this one, but #1 and 2 have me stumped at the moment.
Ah, thanks to my wife, who came in. Got it!
I've got the theme, but cant figure out #6
Oh wait.............Too Simple
got the theme....stuck on #4...feeling dumb....
100th...after having to look up synonyms...cuz applying theme to checkerouterer wasn't working....
UGH! I can't get #1 and #10! Any salt?
[12] Well, for #1, I realized the simplest noun works.
and #10 are not blinds.
I can't believe I had #2 misspelled for so long and never tried the word that fit the spelling
[11], this refers to the lady behind the counter.
Yay, my name was a clue :)
I can't get #6...not the movie I was thinking of
[17] Nevermind the characters or the movie. It's the action your looking for....in noun form.
You solved this puzzle in 0 seconds and were the 101st Tanga member to solve it. You earned 20 points for solving this.
Thanks, [13]! You were right and now I feel really dumb. Also, thanks [16], because your salt was what brought it all together for me. :)
great job. #6 stumped me until I realized this is tanga.
Whew...thanks [20] - that was the salt I needed!
Still having trouble with #4. [15] wasn't enough.
Edit: Got it now, thanks for the help.
[22] edit - sorry, thought you were talking about [16]. The check-out person can also be called the... The resulting word is an adjective not very commonly used.
Took me a freakin hour to get the theme...one I did it was easy sailing!
Tricky...
#1 tripped me up, I was thinking about a group of females from MacBeth. It's a lot more generic of a group.
[18] was exactly what I needed for #6. Thanks!
Fun! Thank you [16].
I still can't get #6 - does it really contain a 'P' and end with 'Y' or do I have something else wrong.
[29] Yes it contains a P and ends with Y. #6 could have been a picture of children doing the same thing.
I have no idea what I'm doing here. No theme, no words that fit and can't make sense of the title. I must be having a bad brain day.
Sheesh..... I think it just came to me a minute after I posted.
That was easy! I could kick myself for being so clodheaded.
Totally lost... no theme to be found. *cry*
me too [32]
the 229th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 20 points for solving this. :)
[6],[7],[13],[15],[16],[18],[23],etc.......Thanks for the salt! Took a moment to get the theme, but [32],[33] its in the puzzle title.......good luck.
[34] I figured as much... still no help. *ponder*
Hm... think I have it now... let's see.
Woot. #5 finally put it all in place. Kept overthinking the relation between the clues/answers.
I've been staring at the clues off and on for 6 or 7 hours and have no idea about the theme? Any salt??
Got it Thanks to dkburnsjr!
AHHHHHHHHHHHH... Still can't get #6... From the salt, I thought I had it, but still won't take it. SALT needed!!
Yeah, I too am still lost on the theme. I thought I had it for a minute but what I have does not make sense.
Crossword solver finally gave me 6.
For those that still don't have it, I found #5 to be the easiest place to start. You know the name of that insect, don't you? It's 4 letters long... but there's only 3 letters in the answer... Hmmm... looking at the title, I wonder what I need to do?

was trying a phonetic solution to #2 that might work in a cryptopix.
clever and tricky!
I have some for each one and they all fit together and all fit the theme. But something is wrong. oh well.
263rd. Took me about 15 min or so. #6 tripped me up a bit but it was clever.
[44] Spelling for #2?
277th
The horse in #8 gave me the most trouble. Got the rest almost as fast as I could click. By the time I got to #6, I already had both cross words, so that helped a lot.
Thanks [30] what children do helped.
I don't know if solvers noticed this, but there's a significant change in pronunciation between each clue answer and its corresponding entry.
This was really fun! My first one. :] Thx!
I'm stuck on #2, I'm completely clueless, HELP!
never mind.
Once I finally got it, I was #7 with myself for taking so darn long...
[42] THANK YOU!!!!!
<sheesh> D'uh.
nice!
Love it !
Very clever puzzle with number 6 being the hardest but with the best 'aha'.
