For #6 all you need to know is the bottom part, in the most generic sense.

Holy moly... after googling five thousand variations of clues for #6, I finally got one hit that made it click with *just* the right clue. If I'd only been Catholic... I learned something tonight!

The answer to number 6 has a striking resemblance in tone and flavor to the answer to number 3.

I relunctantly confess that this puzzle has stumped me almost entirely. Ok, maybe I have 2, 5, 7, 9 (maybe). But no theme or answers to the others. I've been over the comments, and nothing clicks. I must be on a different wavelength on this one. No fun here............ :(
