I like this puzzle, too. There's nothing really tricky about it (even with the final answer), but the clues are so clean and simple and it's kind of surprising, as you go along, how many of these there actually are.
A perfect exmaple, IMO, of how a Hypercross can forgo a lot of fancy bells and whistles and still be satisfying.

[4] I also, was stuck on #2 for a while, I figured it was a VOIP conference style, but was thinking too much :) [7] Then, when I got to #4, my brain kept saying "His Master's voice" and wouldn't let me go on. And now that I've got that to stop repeating, [27] you've got me thinking of E.T.!
Uggh! I kept putting A's where there were O's and O's where there were A's and then fixing the wrong ones. It got to where nothing looked right!
Can't believe I misspelled #4, lost me a minute or two.
Think I have them all, corrected my O and A mistakes and it still won't take. :(
What the heck is #2?
Managed 95th.
[4] It's either a spaceship or something you might find in a conference room. ;-)

[10] I did too, lol. I'm old enough to remember rotary phones and couldn't figure out why it didn't fit.
