It was with great honor that I accepted Arnott's invitation to create an end-of-year triptych. I hope you enjoy all 3 puzzles. See also:

One Word Wonder
Very clever!
I LOVED the last clue! :)
I love the last clue!
Loved the last clue!
Hard but fun!
Woo-hoo! 24th! Surprised I remembered all of these from H.S. chemistry (in the '60s!)
(Oops, double post)
Hey, that was fun! After the hypercross yesterday, it was nice to have one that I know something about.
Liked that one. Thanks!
Very clever grid and final clue!
Very clever, especially the last clue! Thanks, jebediehard, and Happy New Year!
75th here. Now to go back and try to figure out the last OWW step.
OK...I admit it. I need help with the last clue. I've been looking at the chart and I don't see anything that fits the them of the puzzle. Salt?
[15] Thanks. I got it. But I still don't know why.
teehee, the comment above me is one of the best ever! (please don't erase or flag it)

79th! Yippiee my best ever (ok not really)
but What a wonderful puzzle!! Thanks jebediehard. Loved it.
Stuck on #15. Need help!
Never mind. Post and solved. Managed 99! Under 100 on all three puzzles.
Anyone willing to check my answers? It's not taking.
Hmm. I'm pretty sure I've got all these right but it's not taking. And yes, I'm also pretty sure I got the last one.
I'll check answers
(I'm just watching some silly American football game on tv)
[19] Thanks, I just sent mine. Hope the game is a good one.
There we go, I put the answers in again and I was right. Thanks for the offer though, [19].
Dang - 102 - So close!! Fun puzzle!
Gotta agree with [15]. [14] is great! :)
[19] Would you check mine as well, everything crosses, but it won't take.
Edit: Nevermind, thanks [27] I realized what I had wrong.
Nice puzzle!!!
I can't get them to work. Pretty sure they are all right
DOH! Thanks to houck [19] for checking my answers. I had the final box wrong (thanks [14] for the hint - I was stuck on it) because I took it one step TOO far.
Agree with all the others, that last clue is great!
Nice set of puzzles Jeb!
awesome puzzle. great job.
I swear I have every one right and no typos, but it keeps telling me I'm wrong. D'oh!
! Excellent as always !
Very clever. Well done!
This has got to be my favorite hypercross ever. Well done!
HYPERS THAT DON'T HAVE LETTERS OR THAT DON'T FORM REAL WORDS ARE A WASTE OF TIME!
WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO GOOGLE PERIODIC TABLE SYMBOLS JUST TO COMPLETE A NONSENSE PUZZLE?
NOT GONNA DO IT!!
Awesome!!! It is great to put that high school chemistry to work.
[34] Haters gotta hate
Help! I'm stuck on the last clue. Could someone give me a hint, please? Thanks!
Great!!!!!
[37] There is a clue in the grid itself if you have the answers correct...
Have to say I loved this most excellent challenge! Well done!
[36] Got nothing to do with hating, just common sense.
I'm missing something here. I see the elements that go with each clue, but can't make them fit the grid. Any salt?
[41] Sent you a TG.
Thank you Angie!! [42] That last clue was a bit of an understatement for me. Maybe it's because it's 1:30 in the morning...now I can sleep.
Have to agree with [40] on this one.
I always assume the answers are going to be real words, unless stated otherwise. The last clue was super clever but the climax was less than what it could have been because I was so done with the insanely repetitive referencing and initial first two hours of ,"Huh?"
Keep'em comin' though, Jeb. Working on figuring out your style.
very well done!
Loved it all but particularly the last one. It was so....tanga.
meh...not sure it was worth my time, but ptable.com is pretty slick!
Hmmm... Guess it's a matter of one's familiarity with the periodic table... I didn't have to google any of them and found it all quite enjoyable. They were all common elements. It's not like he asked for Rutherforium or Berkelium or something. *shrug* Thanks again for the great puzzle, jeb!
Reminds me of this... http://xkcd.com/18/
can someone tg me some please, not sure what to do here, i figured out all the elements but they don't fit in the spaces
[50] TG sent
I don't understand how to do these puzzles, i looked in the faqs and i'm pretty sure i understand what the clues mean but they don't fit.
anyone willing to give me a hint to understand these things? lol
oh whimper. I know all the elements and their symbols but not getting the Ah Ha moment of how to use them. Post and the Ah Ha arrives. Oh DUH!
[53] When you typed Ah Ha like that - separated into two words, and with caps - I immediately though, "Oh... what elements are those?"
Nice puzzle, and the last one was very clever!
I thought for sure the last one was sodium chloride...
I did this the other day and it didn't work. I triple checked everything for typos, even cleaned it out and started it over, and it would not work. I gave up and a walked away, just did it with the *exact* same answers and it worked! Computer weirdness!
ooo, i love this one!! very fun!
