Seeing as this HC is somewhat atypical, I made clue #1 contain a general guideline as well as an example (the answer to #1 is SIXTIES). Hopefully this will curb the desire for early salt and/or overly salty comments.
I would also like to give a special thanks to LakeLivin who helped me a great deal with the HC portion of this triptych. He helped me construct better clues and hopefully made the mod's job a bit easier (speaking of which, thank you Arnott for all of your help too!)
Ummmm....yikes.
Whatever.......this night.................
[2] Ditto. I give up.
Excellent. Difficult, but excellent.
All done but 11.....
count me in as one of the fails
Superb.
I must confess. . . that was OUTSTANDING!
Tough, but a lot of fun!
This was a fun puzzle, very enjoyable.
Awesome puzzle! Got 14th.
Haven't figured out the other two puzzles tonight yet.
My brain hurts.
[6] When you see what is the same in each one, count it out loud. That's what it took for me.
Yay, I finally got #6! It wasn't really any tougher than the others, quite similar in fact but I think I just didn't recognize what I had was a word as quickly. Also the pattern was a little more difficult to spot, but that didn't hold me up very long.
This was AWESOME!!
Whoa, this was amazing. Some of them were a bit tricky. Thanks for making the puzzles tonight, Adam!
Wow, what a masterpiece.
Amazing.
Oh, my goodness! That was truly, truly, truly spectacular! Thanks, AdamMcD... and LakeLivin... and Arnott.
I was having so much fun working these out that I didn't care if all the points would be gone when I got around to the OWW.
One of my favorite HCs ever!
[6] It was hard for me to see what needed to be seen there since the columns weren't all lined up straight.
Great job, Adam! Loved this one!!!
This was an awesome Hypercross!!! Send more puzzles Adam McD :)
Wow. That may have been the best puzzle I've ever seen on here. VERY difficult, but VERY doable.
Really liking this one, too. Still trying to get 11, and 6.
NM on 6 - just saw why my guess is right.
EDIT: Got them both! Really slowed down on this one after getting top 20 on the other two.
Great set of puzzles, Adam!
Very nice set of puzzles, AdamMcD!
This one was a real brain stretcher, but well clued.
Ten stars FUN ! Thank you AdamMcD.
Best one yet. I didn't want the puzzle to end!
I'm glad I stuck with it, this was great.
This is the best hypercross I've ever done. Loved it.
Congrats on the kiwi, [30].
Wow, tough! But I got them all (with the help of a crossword solver)!
One of the best hypers ever! Awesome work AdamMcD!
[28] This puzzle had 15 clues. I bet I saw at least 35 good clues from Adam before he chose these, so don't be surprised to see more somewhere down the road lol!
I have no idea what 10 is.
OMG that was an amazing construction. AdamMcD, thank you!!
An absolutely amazing puzzle. I loved every suffering minute :-).
Got all but 9 & 13..... any little sprinkles, please???
stuck on 13
{38} and {39} It's in position. Help with 10 needed.
For #13 you may have to expand your focus beyond just one word.
so far i only have 7 and 15
For #10 Have you identified what each of the symbols are?
I agree with many of the folks here - difficult, but awesome!!
One of my favorite Hypercrosses ever.
For #9: There's a sesame street character who wears a cape that might be able to help with this clue.
EDIT: oops I meant for #9 !
I have them all, checked spelling... still no go. WIll someone whose solved it check my answers, please?
[47] you can TG me.
Note: I'm sure Adam would be much more helpful than me but he couldn't be here tonight.
GOT IT!!! Had ONE wrongly spelled. Thanks for thkindness, LakeLivin [47].
#10 no - just the middle one...but I still don't get it
Finally got it! Took half an hour to guess it.
on a roll now
I got more than half. I may not get anymore. My brain really liked this kind of puzzle. So, thanks for that.
[51] you're all over it, lol!
This was definitely five Fun stars!
I've played over 500 games of Zendo and have even helped to run Zendo tournaments. Even so, this puzzle was a challenge. It required non-trivial amounts of both Zendo AND Tanga skills.
I could use some salt for #6 and #11. For #11 I even can see the pattern but i can't make a word out of it.
Edit; I got #6, just need #11 now
[56] For #11 it may be a 'spelling vs. pronunciation' thing.
[57] - thanks that helped. Only got 116th though :-(
Well done Adam! Very creative and lots of fun.
Once I got started, I found these to be fairly easy. Now back to the OWW that I had given up on.
SO CLEVER! Loved this.
more!!!!
This may very well be the first time that I've seen both the fun and difficulty meters nearly pegged (4 stars each right now). Usually, you can count on the difficult puzzles getting low fun ratings... (kind of like the OWW tonight, lol)
Great puzzle but evidently difficult... an hour and forty minutes in and I'm 129th!
I got them all (at least I thought so) and they fit but not accepting. Can someone please check my answers.
Thanks to [66], I have it right (matter of US English vs British English). And yes, a great puzzle!
[65] I'll take a look if you want to TG me.
this hyper made me hyper
Wow. Started late. Went for a walk to the park. Came back. And still finished 91st. Very fun. Thanks!
loved this puzzle!
that was brilliant - i didnt even care about scoring the bonus points - I simply loved solving it !!
[34] looking word, word word word :) to more of these puzzles
great job AdamMcD
I almost gave up because 2 didn't come to me right away, but I'm glad I persisted, because it became easier and a lot more fun!
Super puzzle! I loved it!
[34] Heh, likely Unfeatured :) A *lot* of those other clues were not as nice as these, IMO. Some, of course, were essentially repeats, and some didn't quite work, I felt. But yeah... it was GREAT to be able to choose a solid 14-16 from a much larger set. (we turned one of them into the OWW :P)
And it's definitely one of the reasons that this Hyper is terrific. Adam gave himself a huge clue pool to choose from, which was really smart. Also, it's just a great idea :) Mind you, I also love Zendo, so I was somewhat predisposed to like this one anyway.
Thanks for all the compliments folks!
[34] [73]
I'll try to submit the "leftovers" for an unfeatured HC soon.Edit: I may hold off in light of some new ideas TG'ed to me. Thanks guys.A tad inconsistent on pluralization, but otherwise enjoyable
Fun puzzle!
I seem to be the only one having a problem with figuring out #7. The rest came pretty quickly
[77] Actually, I had a TON of trouble with that one. It was the last one I got. The case differences are important, but very hard to see. You are looking for a particular letter that appears in a certain manner on one side but not the other. Does that help?
It seems late enough and far enough down the comments for that to be an acceptable level of public salt. If you disagree, TG me and I'll retract.
Stuck on 11 and 13 (but might have 13)... probably have others wrong. This one is tough but I will not give up!
Edit: Went shopping, came back with a clear mind (and wallet) and solved. Whew~
Great puzzle. The googlefests and the mindless picture ID puzzles get so tiring, this was refreshing. Thanks Adam.
Sinc
e no one else seems to be having problems with #3 or #12, I'm probably overthinking them. But if you have any salt.....
I was right.
P&S
[79] #11 is very similar to #6. For #13, [41] has the best salt, I think. In addition to that, I'd say that relative order is important.
And, guys, it takes 7 flags to delete the spam, so help us out so we can get rid of [82] and [83].
AWESOME puzzle! [14] provided just the right amount of salt to complete my meal.
even after salt, still stuck on #13
GOT IT...after thinking for a while and finally seeing the connection.
[86] TG sent
Favorite Hypercross ever! Love Zendo, and love what you've done with it!
I don't know what the deal is with #9, but the only logical conclusion I could come to for it is wrong (unless it was correct and the differences between british english and american english are killing me in the spelling of any others.) Good puzzle, but #9 seems to be a douche. Just gonna scrap it.
[89] hmm, pay attention to #7 w.r.t. U.S. spelling. If you want to TG me what you've got for #9 I'll be glad to provide some feedback.
In retrospect, #3 should have been one of the easier ones, but I just could not figure it out.
Great puzzle.
You are a freaking genius!! You solved this puzzle.

Guess sometimes time flies when you have fun!
Loved this puzzle. Did it all without outside help or reading comments. One of the best puzzles.
Ok, I am a little late....but.....most clever hypercross ever. Thanks for making it.
A late solve on a GREAT puzzle.... left me feeling like a #8 ;)
somewhere between crazy hard and crazy awesome. Do more like this please.
I thought I had it, but I guess not. Too complex for me...I'm out.

Good stuff author. Keep it up. >=)
Very difficult, but gratifying.
Absolutely superb.

got it! -spelling issues
stuck on 7 and 10 :( salt?
