Hyper is good, but #15 was oddly cued, with pretty much no way to look up the top photo, and an odd guess gets you to what the bottom photo is cuing -- with an odd object to cue it.
found the theme on 4
Ah, spelling--my old nemesis--we meet again. 6th time's the charm.
Witch King: [taking Eowyn by the throat] You fool. No man can kill me. Die now.
Eowyn: I am no man.
[she thrusts her sword into the Witch King's helm and twists; he shrieks and implodes]
oh.....that spelling
[1], sorry for the confusion. For those still stuck on #15, pay special attention to what the arrow is pointing to.
[4] lol!
Hhhmmm, not sure what I have wrong here.
[9] Yep, that tricksy h got me.
[8] Check your spelling on #10?
No spelling problems here, just got stuck on 10 - had the wrong icky thing for the last part. Nice pack of clues!
still NFC on 15...
15 makes it a literal piece of..... for me...liked it otherwise, but WTF?????
Never heard of #11
[11] As a huge fan of the Rated R Superstar, I found the top picture to be a very easy clue. Although I find it odd, since no one has used the "The" in years.
For #15 the arrow is not pointing to the table leg.
#15 should have had the band U2's guitarist pictured rather than the wrestler; I would hope more Tanganites listen to U2 than have any interest or knowledge of wrestling.
edit: Guess I was wrong [14] ;(
[15], yeah thanks....I could tell you u 215 things it's NOT pointing to.....meh
15 really was meh, otherwise a nice puzzle--that just destroyed it for me....
[11] I'm not sure what NFC is (since I suffer from being tragically unhip), but if you don't know what the arrow is pointing at, maybe it will help if you know that the picture didn't need to be a table. It could have been a book, a box, the tip of a skate or sword or razor, or any of a number of other items. As for the person, I can only assume that his nickname is the same word as what the arrow is trying to point out.
I'm not slamming the puzzle; I just think half of this clue could have been clearer.
[16] If it makes you feel any better, either one would have been fine. :)
[18] thanks, i got it now...agree, but sometimes half a clue is a big thing, and as I pointed out, maybe not clearly enough "FANTASTIC PUZZLE" except for half of 15. where did I slam the rest of the puzzle?
[7] Very nice puzzle TA...despite my EXTREME frustration with #15......
[19] Good to know you like good music and enjoy other entertainment as well. I didn't mean it as a put down and I'd typed and posted it before seeing your post.
We used to sneak a peak at the local wrestling show on TV when we were "supposed" to be watching Saturday morning cartoons; I remember them as truly entertaining theatre.
Got it all but #2.... anyone have a hint they can send me?
Have to agree that #15 was tough but otherwise a fun puzzle with creative clues.
Got answers, checked spelling, still tells me to try again. I'm about ready to duck out of this one.
[20] ? I'm confused. I said that I wasn't slamming the puzzle. I was concerned (because I complained about #15 twice) that people would think that I was a broken record. I wanted to go on record saying that except for this small hiccup, I thought it was a good Hyper.
With my comments in [18] I was trying to give you some salt. But while I was writing it, several others did so faster and better.
At no time did I think that YOU were slamming it, nor did I intend to give that impression.
[26] (This is why I don't comment too often here. Apparently I have bad communication skills.)
Thanks [18]. Never would have gotten it without your list of other items that have it, haha. But it's a hard-to-clue word.
[23] He's a major South Park character.
[23] that character is from South Park.
I got a little stuck on #15 but googled wrestler with star tattoo. I would never have gotten it with u2 guitarist. At least I knew this guy's occupation.
I liked this one.
Was pretty good. I had to find south park by googling "they killed kenny" cause I couldn't remember the name of the show, but could remember that as a tag-line for the show. So circuitous.
LOL... I got #15 just fine - got the table clue. Agree U2 would have been better than the wrestler. No, the one that hung me up for so long was #2. I absolutely loved this puzzle but I think using South Park characters has become a pet peeve of mine. I've never watched it and they all look the same to me. Maybe they wouldn't side-by-side. At any rate, I got that one by using a crossword solver - which took awhile since I had to give up on the answer having a C in it.
[29] If the picture had been tagged "U2 Guitarist", you would have gotten it via Google, just like you got the wrestler by Googling his tattoo.
Regarding #15, I didn't know who that was in the top right photo either, but found out by right-clicking the entire clue image, copying the image url and inserting it in Google's image search. Easy breezy.
#2 had me hung up for a while. I didn't think it was what it was because the "S" in the center was throwing me.. Seems another letter would have made more sense there, but maybe I'm missing something.
Only other one I had any prob with before finally getting it was #10 until I realized what the little green dude was representing.
Fun one, TangaAl!
Stuck on 16
I'm stuck on #2. Thanks #31 but I still cant figure it out. Can I save and come back to this? Are the answers ever published?
#2 had me stumped too, as I've never watched South Park -- But, for some reason I knew he was from South Park, go figure, but then my search of South Park characters pulled up two pages of characters with names below each, but it didn't include this little fella. arghhh - finally found him though (on Wikipedia under "List of South Park Characters").
[32] I tried doing what you said you did with #15 to see if it would work for me. It didn't. I've got the clue though.
I think #2 was missing a syllable... agree with [32] a diffErent letter would have made that one work much better...
or it could just be how i pronounce it..
I liked the puzzle; didn't find any of them particularly confusing. I agree with 18 that perhaps a sword or knife might have made it quicker or clearer , but table worked for me. the little geen goober got me for a minute ; but if you have first 2 syllables, makes it easy to guess,
IDK about you guys but I like a clues that make you pause ; what challenge is there if all the clues are blatantly obvious? If I don't get it, why should I get bent? obviously others got it so I just figure my wires aren't connecting. True a different picture ie sword might have made the wires connect sooner but then again it may have made it more difficult for other Tanganites. I don't get letting a misconnection pale the enjoyment of solving the other clues; just keep mulling!!
If all else fails, try dictionary! how many words could be listed with pac, pack, pak, etc? or ask for TG!
thanks for puzzle TangaAl
Needed [16]s help to get #15, but enjoyed #4 what with being an NC State alum and all.
Lots of fun. No trouble with #15 at all. It was #10 that gave me trouble because I couldn't figure out what that last little nasty guy was depicting. Felt really foolish when the word finally came to me and I realized what he was. It was actually a very good clue :-).
thought i had no problem with the clues, got them easily i thought, and my spelling is right...can't figure out my problem
#36 I probably didn't explain that far enough. I normally use Firefox. Menu might be a bit different in other browsers, but should be something close. I'm too lazy to bring up other browsers to check. :)
So in Firefox, for image search, right click an image, and select "copy image location." That copies the image's url. In the search bar for Google image search (make sure you are at image search, not regular Google search), click on the little camera icon to the far right inside the search form. Then paste the image url and hit search.
Alternately you can drag an image into the image search bar (after clicking on the camera icon), but then you'd need to open a separate browser window so you could do that, so the method described in the previous paragraph is faster. ("Copy image" and trying to paste in that way doesn't seem to work.)
Hope that helps!
SO stuck on #10
#43 I was the same way for a long time. It was making me sick.

Here's my somewhat similar hyper from almost two years ago, if you liked this one:

It should be a bit easier if you know how to do this one already!! :)
#45 Thanks! That hyper was a fun one too. Just did it.
I got 5 pts
Wow....I thought I had it! I wonder what I did wrong?
[45] thanks for the link :)
#15... no problem...
#2? took me forever!!! but mainly because i thought it was a different character,
[27] I understood completely,,
I have no clue what I am looking at in 16. I guessed the answer, but I still can't tell what the picture is.
LOVED this one.
[51] That's a character from The Addam's Family - and is used very frequently on this site, so you might commit it to memory.
[32][37] The syllable is there. Remember you need to say 'es' when you see an S, not 'ssss' (say the name of the letter, not the sound it makes). The actual sound that belongs in there is 'uh', not 'eh', meaning 'us' would be more accurate than S. But the S is much more accurate than any other single letter name.
