This one had me singing away. Thanks for a nice first puzzle, tinksmom82!
Yes! being a teenager in the 80's finally paid off!
Uh... Detroit was last night.
*Wanna get away?*
[3] *laugh*
43rd anniversary of a certain album today. It was panned when it came out, and today is number 29 on the list of all time great rock albums. Good times, bad times, I know I've had my share....
Considering I am unfamiliar with most of these, this was not very hard. Well clued.
Great Hyper!! WOO HOO!!!!!
Will be singing the rest of the night.
can't spell a damned fruit!
Great puzzle!! Good job!
Thanks All! It was incredibly fun making this puzzle. Big THANKS to Jeb and Arnott for helping me bring it together.
Lots of fun and not too hard.
I dig it!
Yeah, what [12] said. :-)
Me no dig it
Having a hard time with #7... I've got 5 letters from the first two images, and assume it ends in th... and have the 7th letter from the crossword... but that devil looking thing is stumping me.
It might help if I was a fan in the 80's, but I was too much of a geek in school to listen... okay, still am.
Finally figured out #7, but still have no clue what it is or how it fits the theme... but, I'm done. :-)
Had a RIOT reliving the songs from my teenage years, but with sleeping kids I had to keep it QUIET. If I had woken them up I would have angered the old BATTLE AXE. =)
I'll assume [16]/[17] is too young (or too old) to remember the glory days of hair bands. Search YouTube for the group in my previous post along with the answer to #7 and turn the volume up as loud as you can stand it. ;-)
Stuck on 11
Don't worry [20]. I had trouble with that one too. I blame it on the fact that I don't have the right kind of memory.
LOL I was making it much more difficult than it was! Thanks, [21]
I was sad when I realized this wouldn't be a Motown puzzle. The Four Tops came up on my ipod at the exact moment I loaded this puzzle and I was sure it was kismet
I guess I'm too old. I don't know any of these, Maybe if I heard them.
Just listened to a few...mostly garbage. That's why I didn't know them, I don't listen to noise, I prefer music.
Whoo-Hoo! Didn't even have to Google! Great puzzle:-)
Ditto [2], which made me laugh. I was never a fan of the genre, but every one of these titles was familiar to me anyway. Fun puzzle, and well clued!
[24][25] LOL... at least you took a listen. ;)
This stuff was one of the kinds of music I listened to growing up. My step-dad was a child of the 60s and was always listening to Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, et al. He used to tell me my music was "just noise". One time he said that while Hendrix was on the record player... his rendition of Star Spangled Banner came on and devolved into that crazy guitar riff stuff... and I was like "and you think MY music is noise?!"
FWIW, I have great respect for the music of the 60s and I recognize that this stuff isn't the highest quality stuff, but I still like it and it brings back good memories.
Just can't seem to figure out #7.
.....Got it by guessing.....Finally!
Got them all but it will not take.
Anyone on that can check me?
If so PLEASE TG me.
Is it me, or is this a second appearance back-to-back for this hypercross? I solved it last night and earned 20 points, then solved it again tonight for another 20 points. I know they stick around for 2 nights, but I've never scored twice for one before...
[31] Hmm... that's weird and shouldn't have happened. Good fortune for you, I guess :)
I breezed right thru that!
I had to enlist my husband's help in some of these, but awesome puzzle. They really need to fix that "you figured out the puzzle in 0 seconds" glitch lol.
