Wow. #7 was tough for me. But this was an awesome puzzle.

I liked this one, too. My first thought at the solve method/theme had me thinking it was going to be a horrible puzzle to solve, but it ended up being quite fun (while still tricky).

Even after solving, I still don't know what the pic in #7 was. Just picked a word that fit

FWIW, iadHO fits right down through Nebraska and California.
[18] But doesn't appear to completely fit the theme since all the others were 3 letters (as I was trying to point out in [13]).... not to mention that iadho isn't a state. :)

that was fun, brought be back to elementary school. too bad virGINia wasn't represented.
i liked it quite a bit donimo! i think i would have enjoyed it better if it would have been the sound instead, like the clue "MEN" instead for #15. or if nothing else, my home state of EYE-owa!!! lots of fun though! took me til #4 to have an answer, and then #7 to actually understand why i had an answer in #4!
Well, if we are all going to lobby for our states, then I think northCARolina would have fit in nicely with a 3-letter clue and an answer running down through #2 and #3...
Despite that oversight, this was a very well done hyper. Good job!
