Nice one, but it would have been a nice touch if the clues were in the appropriate order as well.
Stuck on the last...I think...
me too
[1] Agreed.
[2] It might help for you to consider how many clues there are.
Ugh... couldn't have gotten it without [4]. Not the best hyper we've seen, that's for sure.
[4] Thanks.
Ten minutes late and still under 100?!! It's gonna be a good week!
[4] nope, that doesn't do it for me...
[8] Perhaps the first word of the puzzle's title will help?
Wasn't sure what #2 was called, but figured it out and managed to get 98th.
[9] Ha! I didn't even get the title until your comment. I thought it just meant the key parts were one syllable
[9] Nope that didn't do it either...got a TG that helped, but a rare "meh" for a philana puzzle
GREAT PUZZLE!!!!!!!!!!
[4] doesn't do it for me either.
figures ... P&S
nothing is helping me with the last clue. Not even google with the title and the number of clues.
[15] google the first word of title
Very well clued!
I am still not getting the last clue.
I finally got it. Google and Bing were leading me to all sorts of other stuff.
I needed [4] and [9] in tandem to figure out the last clue. Then when I went to check answers, I got the following: "You got it! But we're not going to save your answer." Not sure that means?
OK can't get the theme for #13. TG please.
NM AHA moment
Gee, I must be a freaking genius because I didn't need them to be in order to recognize them!
[20] Normally that means you've already solved it. The only time that's happened to me is when either:
1) I'm "test solving" one of my own puzzles before it's published.
2) My husband and I were each solving on different computers and I had failed to notice that the already-logged-in account on my computer was actually his login. He had solved the hyper before me and when I hit submit, I got that response... because he had already solved it.
[20] I've gotten that message a couple of times. It's like Tanga has hiccupped or something. Clicking Check Your Answers a second time always worked for me.
Gregorian signals 'XXXXXXXX'... got the theme from the title before starting with clues. In fact, initially tried October for clue one. Nice one, Philana. ;)
well, I am either taking something completely different away from it as everyone else because it wont accept any of the versions of my final answer. anybody feel up to sending me a TG with the answer so I can just move on? I think I have just done too many puzzles today.
of course I went over to OWW and got it in like 30 seconds. So I guess I am not totally retarded like I though...... just a little..............hehe
Oh dear god I just got it................. There I was thinking that most of them made at least parts of sounds on the musical scales..................
Got it, but I don't get how there is a theme.
[1] Being in order wouldn't have helped unless the first three letters of each word fit.
[25] Sorry, but the first thing anyone would normally think of with Gregorian is chant.
Sigh, it was only just a WEEK ago. Does NO ONE remember my OWW?

[31] Maybe just a week ago in "real time", but you have to remember that there was a puzzlethon between then and now... in Tanga time the puzzle you reference is ancient history!
Wow, a lot of discussion on this one. Ok I'll add my grumpy attitude. I really liked this HC a lot. Very clever. But I can't leave it at that. I have to complain about two things: 1) I really get tired of sports references (#5) that I can't get bc I have little interest in sports. 2) This really needed a better final clue. I found many answers that fit (such as vowel or vowls (depending on how you interpreted that "abbreviated" inference)) for the final answer. But other than that it was a very good puzzle.
[31] You expect us to read your ENTIRE solution write-up? lol
don't get the confusion thought it was simple and straightforward but then again I'm still working on gee lol
[33] Another slight issue with #5 is that particular team has since changed the name to "Miami ______". They have a new logo, too.
[33], [36], agree and my "meh", was a little harsh, and directed at only the final clue as well...The puzzle was really very good, my "aha" just wasn't....
Well, look at it this way, now you have a leg up on solving this one from two-and-a-half years ago :)

Fwiw I liked it!
[33][36] Yeah, I thought that there was a rule about only using pictures that are current. Like for #7, I am pretty sure that he no longer has a job.
[38] But. But. But. *splutter* But the answers to that puzzle aren't real words! *gasp* :)
I also find comment #20 on that one amusing in light of those of us that struggled with the final clue on this one.
nice
its too hard!!! where are the answers.
clue to last clue is "abbreviated"! What's abbreviated?
Freakin A! There are all these clues but they are only HALF clues. Abbreviated if you will. You have to figure out the whole clue, the rest of the info. It's the Na without the Cl
