    ?
    ow! ow! ow!

  2. Phi3CornPhilana on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:05 PM

I'm pretty sure I know what's going on and what to enter. But I can't figure out how to get anything into the second blank on the next-to-last row.

  3. Avatar_profileApplebennicholson on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:05 PM

    got it

  4. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:10 PM

    [2] Philana
click on the last letter of the third one across

  5. FilePancakesjmcintyre on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:11 PM

Nice. I went a little overboard on the sister puzzle but answered my own distress call in time.

  6. Phi3CornPhilana on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:12 PM

    [4] Thanks, that did it!

  7. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:15 PM

Yeah, but I don't have a clue yet.

  8. Avatar_profileStrawberryGaryL on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:16 PM

Nice! I got it without any salt. Now, to go back and solve the hard one.

  9. FileDuckiedavey3 on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:16 PM

Wow leadfoot, that's an amazing amount of posts!

  10. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:19 PM

    [9] Ooohh - Didn't even notice!

And, I've cut way back lately

  11. FileDuckiedavey3 on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:21 PM

[10] - I guess in almost a year it works out to only about 8 posts a day ... not that bad really. I only average about 2.

  12. Avatar_profileStrawberryGaryL on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:22 PM

Ok, here's a little hint. What led me to the solution method was wondering why the "E" answer only had one space. And all the others are all either 2 or 3. If one of the clues would have been "T", it would have had only one space too.

  13. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:23 PM

Does the style of the letters make any difference?

  14. MePumpkinMustangChick72 on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:24 PM

what?!?!? HELP!! I need salt....and a margarita to go with it...lol

  15. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:25 PM

    I'm ready for the margarita
And I'll take some additional salt too if it's available...

  16. Phi3CornPhilana on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:26 PM

The puzzle title gave it to me.

  17. Avatar_profileStrawberryGaryL on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:28 PM

Yeah, if you're stuck and want a ton of salt, just google the puzzle title

  18. FileRocketfeydjm on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:30 PM

[16] So what about us Atheists who believe God wrought nothing?

  19. FileAceSolar_Penguin on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:32 PM

    SOS...

  20. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:33 PM

Ya learn a little something every day.
    Thanks

  21. FileDuckiedavey3 on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:34 PM

Thanks a lot [17]! Very clever!

  22. Avatar_12-08Pancakesthreehojos on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:40 PM

    .-- . .. .-. -..

  23. FileAceSolar_Penguin on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:42 PM

    [22] I agree.

  24. FileRocketfeydjm on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:43 PM

Yeah, I have to vote bad puzzle. This is beyond stretching the good idea of a hypercross.

  25. Oakland_athletics_77100Bananagromit1025 on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:45 PM

So, I've got the origin's of the puzzle, google'd it, found the best way to interpret it, can't figure out what goes in the spaces. I'm being dumb tonight, I guess.

  26. Avatar_profileBananaGateCrash on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:46 PM

[24] I'm completely on the other side of the fence. Brilliant job of thinking outside the box, buggy. When I figured out what you were doing, the light bulb nearly blinded me.

  27. Avatar_profileBananaGateCrash on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:46 PM

    [Edit] Double post

  28. FileAceSolar_Penguin on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:47 PM

    I also agree with [26]

  29. FileGarlick1w1 on Sat Nov 10, 2007 07:56 PM

Yup, count me in the "that was clever" camp.

  30. Oakland_athletics_77100Bananagromit1025 on Sat Nov 10, 2007 08:02 PM

Aha. Found out that you should never over-think your answer. Sometimes it's the most literal thing, or exactly what it should be.

  31. PixelBananaaynjul on Sat Nov 10, 2007 08:39 PM

I keep hearing the beginning of the show Jericho in my head.

  32. Avatar_profileApplekswitz on Sat Nov 10, 2007 08:56 PM

ugh. googled the title, and still can't figure out what to do.

  33. Avatar_profileApplekswitz on Sat Nov 10, 2007 09:01 PM

I'm an idiot. It would help if I actually clicked on one of the hypercross squares to give me a starting point. Duh.

  34. FileStrawberryjmsnhogan on Sat Nov 10, 2007 09:30 PM

    Wow. Nice. VERY Nice!

  35. Avatar_profileAppleqwertyca on Sat Nov 10, 2007 10:24 PM

Ok wow, that was a FANTASTIC puzzle! One of the best I've ever seen. Excellent work buggy!!!

  36. Avatar_profilePlumAlster on Sat Nov 10, 2007 10:56 PM

I agree that this is a bad puzzle... not because it's a bad puzzle, but rather because the Hypercross instructions use the word 'word' and thus there's a contradiction.

  37. OtakuavatarPeachalysedai on Sun Nov 11, 2007 04:40 AM

yeah, I needed to google the title to figure it out...but once I did that, it wasn't too bad.

  38. FilePlumTIMMAY on Sun Nov 11, 2007 09:34 AM

Clever...I got it faster than any other one I have done.

  39. Avatar_profilePearfreelancelot on Sun Nov 11, 2007 06:48 PM

Nice to see a new take on the Hypercross.

  40. FileBananatheChony on Mon Nov 12, 2007 12:38 PM

I appreciate the new idea, but it was too easy even for a puzzle requiring a cheat sheet.
