Edit: Okay. That was . . . different.
Try #8 first
Got #8 now what
Got it with some help
This is rough if you don't know the band (which I didn't)
[3] Who sang the song? Even knowing that, this is a hard puzzle
[3]Go back and look at the title.
Finally got it. Note: The theme has absolutely nothing to do with John Hughes.
Wow, that WAS hard! Especially since I'm not really familiar with the band.
[1] Yeah...different...and by different I mean awful. I knew the theme by the title even before looking at one clue. I think it would be impossible to answer this by using the clues only. You either have to know all of the band's songs or immediately recognize the theme and find a list (like I did).
I like this Band - it was a bit of work to finish the puzzle though
I think the problem here, as [8] alludes to, is that the pictures don't really *encode* the song titles, they just *represent* them, for the most part. Which means that you can't "sound them out"; you really just have to know all the songs, or scour a list for things that match (and I skimmed over correct matches a number of times).
I'm somewhat concerned that I actually figured out the theme to this puzzle almost immediately. I have to agree that the clues were improper, requiring knowledge of the group to complete.
I am not familiar with the band, but once I figured out the name of the band this puzzle was not terribly difficult. Of course I relied heavily on wikipedia.
Too hard to get words... i was forced to count letters on some of these. not a very well thought out set of clues. just got a discography and worked.
ditto
double ditto...94th..kinda painful....and lucky
