got all the answers - got something wrong...

  2. FileRocketokmaybenot on Dec 31, 2007 07:15 PM

That was a great puzzle. Now which set should I follow this new year. hehe There was only one that threw me off but that was easily found.

  3. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Dec 31, 2007 07:19 PM

Thank goodness for a good Catholic education!

  4. FileBananaahecht on Dec 31, 2007 07:20 PM

My only complaint is that the picture in the leftmost down clue is a sprocket, not a gear.

  5. FileCheeseburgerQurqirishDragon on Dec 31, 2007 07:22 PM

Am I mistaken, or is one of the ... um... how do I say this without too much salt... 'concepts' repeated, and thus another one missing?

I solved this anyway, but that is what stuck me for a while.

[4]And that one is often a different word all together...

  7. FileRocketokmaybenot on Dec 31, 2007 07:24 PM

[4] Yeah, that was the one that threw me when I gave up on the word games and just used the lists.

  8. FileBananaukkonen on Dec 31, 2007 07:51 PM

Clever puzzle none-the-less. A certain brad pitt movie would get you half.

[5] Yeah, looks like someone would do better to indulge themselves in a beer, and share it with someone else.

  10. FilePotatoAwpH on Dec 31, 2007 08:03 PM

[4] apologies. I'm mechanically clueless enough not to be aware of the difference; hopefully google images has now provided a better match to the intent.

  11. FilePotatoAwpH on Dec 31, 2007 08:04 PM

[5] Can you tangagram me with details? I'll fix it if I understand the problem, but I'm not sure I do with your attempt to remain salt-free (though that is appreciated! =)

  12. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Dec 31, 2007 08:12 PM

[5] I have 14 different answers on this...

  13. FileSailboatkevinruns262 on Dec 31, 2007 08:23 PM

That was a fun puzzle. Difficult enough to make you think and do some clever google searches, but no so tough that it frustrates and annoys you. Nice one!

  14. FilePumpkinBigSlick on Dec 31, 2007 08:27 PM

[3] You need a *Catholic* education? I'm hosed!

  15. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Dec 31, 2007 08:30 PM

[14} Nah, just need to find the right wiki entry!

  16. FilePotatorevchewie on Jan 01, 2008 02:28 AM

So what the hell's that stuffed critter subtracted from the first clue? Send it privately if it'll be too salty. Already solved the puzzle, but still curious what that thing is.

  17. Sc002a57f6Pumpkinrunart on Jan 01, 2008 03:51 AM

I'm curious too about the stuffed animal. Excellent puzzle. Catholic school definitely helped. :)

  18. FileCheeseburgerQurqirishDragon on Jan 01, 2008 07:40 AM

AwpH: I sent the message. I didn't see your request until just now, sorry about the wait.

[14] I'm Jewish, and had no problem with most of them. My main problem was finding the right synonym for the one I couldn't figure out from the clue. Once I found the theme, I was choosing an answer, and then finding the clue that matched it.

[3] Is there a seven and seven other than the drink? Maybe that's why I'm having such trouble with this puzzle.

  20. FilePotatoDandelion_Wine on Jan 01, 2008 06:39 PM

Nice - once I got the theme, I didn't even have to open most of the pictures.

    Catholic school helps.

  21. Avatar_profileApplekswitz on Jan 02, 2008 03:03 PM

hmm...got it, but only after digging around a lot for the one with the fur stuffed animal subtracted from the answer. It is listed as one of 8 instead of one of the main 7 on wiki....so I kept trying to put in the 7th I was missing, rather than that one...

  22. FilePotatogoingboeing on Jan 12, 2008 06:04 AM

The first clue doesn't fit exactly, and is repeated, too. The 1st or 11th clue should have described something different.

the answer to #14 is not a virtue
