Some of those were a bit of a stretch. Tough, but fair.

  2. AvatarCarrotrobrizob on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:18 PM

Stuck on the tennis guy and the ers.

  3. FileAcescarver on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:24 PM

Tennis salt, please. [2] There's a bunch of ers.

Never mind. It's not who the player is but what he is doing.

  4. FilePumpkincherylo on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:21 PM

I'm stuck on the pillow and coin. Any help?

  5. FilePepperdajagr on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:23 PM

[4] It's a slang term for the coin.

[2] [3] It's a type of shot in tennis. I still don't know how the guy fits, though.

  6. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:23 PM

    [2], [3] He's not serving...

  7. FileRocketBearcat89 on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:24 PM

[2] Guy not important, what he is doing IS.
    How are the "ers" presented?

[4] Try another name for that coin.

  8. Avatar_profileRocketmz on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:24 PM

[3] Think of a specific tennis action.

[4] The arrow points to what you should focus on on the pillow. And that's a specific currency.

  9. FilePumpkincherylo on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:27 PM

Thanks [5] and [7] and [8], but I got it before I saw your salt, as it turned out. You've salted all the other requests as well or better than I can.

  10. Club_liverpoolAppleJLRobert on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:28 PM

    [2][3] It's not a smash.

[4] Tough nickname to know for those not using The Queen's currency.

But I agree with [1]. Some were a stretch, but they still work.

  11. FileAppleBolisazel on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:30 PM

Salt on the chick in the wax museum and the 'er'???

Got the chick - now I need the lonely 'er'

  12. FileEggplantjtotheh on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:29 PM

    Well done.

  13. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:31 PM

[11] Not the lonely 'er', what about they others that are all together?

  14. FileEggplantjtotheh on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:32 PM

Though the 'er's are inside of a circle, I wouldn't say that they're in a ring, or a field for that matter.

  15. FilePlumfishboy on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:34 PM

    Does the vocalist's identity matter?

  16. FilePlumfishboy on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:36 PM

Ah, sure. I never watched that.

  17. FileXylophoneQurqirishDragon on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:37 PM

    [15] the character's identity does.

  18. FilePlumfishboy on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:41 PM

    Salt on wax girl?

  19. FilePancakesjmcintyre on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:43 PM

Good puzzle - left me hungry for more.

  20. Avatar_profileRocketmz on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:43 PM

[14] Ha! Nice clue for the mathematically inclined. *g*

  21. Avatar_profileBananaspurs13 on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:45 PM

salt on the last pic with the canal?

  22. FilePlumdougtaylor1 on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:53 PM

    salt on the nails?

  23. FilePlumdougtaylor1 on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:49 PM

[21] The canal is in the city Dear to my heart.

  24. Avatar_profileBananaspurs13 on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:50 PM

    [23] ahhh..got it...so close yet so far away...thanks!

  25. AvatarCarrotrobrizob on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:50 PM

[22] The Egyptian's off a bit phonetically, but that clue should include a t-shirt.

The nails are also not perfectly phonetic, but maybe if you say it SLOWLY... with butter.

  26. FileBananarissa2sassy on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:52 PM

    What is the first picture?

  27. Avatar_profileStrawberryflowerkin on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:54 PM

help with the ers in the yellow circle?

  28. FilePumpkinBigSlick on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:54 PM

[19] Yeah, especially the second to last one! Yum!

  29. Avatar_profileBananaspurs13 on Thu Jan 10, 2008 07:57 PM

[26] i'm stuck on that one too

  30. FilePlumdougtaylor1 on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:07 PM

[25] do you mean it should be a jewish religious leader and a t-shirt.
I figured out who the egyptian god is.

Ok, the letters in nails need to be re-arranged. Or you could just look at the shape that the two make together but together they are plural and the answer is singular....

Of course the gal talking on the phone isn't singular.....its verizon, alltel or one of a half dozen they sell.

[26] The stringed instrument is the largest in its class.

  31. FileDuckiedavey3 on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:03 PM

Didn't like the "ER" clue, but the rest were pretty good.

    Nice hypercross.

  32. AvatarCarrotrobrizob on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:11 PM

[30] I was referring to Tanga's habit of including a t-shirt when selling the game associated with that Egyptian. It's been too long since I've tried to salt. Ignore me.

  33. 2739833647_e854fb2bbeCarrotcbrady928 on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:11 PM

stuck on tennis player and bald dude

  34. FileGrapesearthangel127 on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:12 PM

can someone give me some salt about the man in the suit infront of the US flag? not american so kinda at a loss

  35. AvatarSailboatjjcool on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:14 PM

stil cant get the "er" clue

  36. FileGrapesMadHatir on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:17 PM

[25] If you're having problems with the clues, how about the fork?

  37. Avatar_profileStrawberryflowerkin on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:18 PM

[34] Guy spent time in the white house, but not as president
I'm really frustrated, this is the first hypercross that I got right away, all except the er one. It's killing me.

  38. 2739833647_e854fb2bbeCarrotcbrady928 on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:31 PM

    any salt on the pound?

    or the tennis player?

  39. Ag1Potatojeep on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:32 PM

I'm right there with you on the ers...

  40. Ag1Potatojeep on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:36 PM

Good thing my wife is smart... all those ers are together.

  41. NamyminiSailboatnamyzarc on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:38 PM

[34] He's not Jack Kennedy; I'll tell you that. (too salty?)

  42. Avatar_profileStrawberryflowerkin on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:41 PM

[41] No, too salty would be to say....never mind I googled it and it was too salty

  43. NamyminiSailboatnamyzarc on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:42 PM

[42] LOL.. So many wonderful memories... and to think I'd almost forgotten about the man -- thank heaven for this puzzle to bring them flooding back!

  44. FilePotatogoingboeing on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:45 PM

I didn't care for the mix of Norman and Saxon terminology, but that aside, I thought it was a good puzzle.

  45. AvatarSailboatjjcool on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:46 PM

[40] that did it for me, dont know why though, guess the circle was throwing me off.

Dude in front of the flag. one word: tomatoe

Tennis player: where is that ball going to go? whats the beard guy doing?

Pillow and coin: says "one pound" on the coin. any other names for it?

  46. FilePeachlaniwalk on Thu Jan 10, 2008 08:56 PM

Finished...got it...my head hurts...I'm going to go lie down now. To the people with "er" problems, there are a couple of schools of thought for that one.

  47. Avatar_profileStrawberryflowerkin on Thu Jan 10, 2008 09:05 PM

I just went to bed and it came to me. I had to come back out here and finish it. I feel really foolish that I didn't get it. I apparently wasn't paying attention in school.

  48. Avatar_profileKiwitaznjazz on Thu Jan 10, 2008 09:24 PM

    [41] It wasn't too salty until [42] posted...haha

  49. Avatar_profileKiwitaznjazz on Thu Jan 10, 2008 09:37 PM

    Who the heck is singing?

  50. FileEggplantHackmaster12 on Thu Jan 10, 2008 09:39 PM

Completely stumped on the first clue with the stringed instrument. I think I have everything else.

  51. FileDuckieescKey on Thu Jan 10, 2008 09:54 PM

Your kidding!! People actually eat that?

  52. FileDuckieescKey on Thu Jan 10, 2008 10:21 PM

[49] It's like the 1st day of Christmas

[50] There's one in every rock band (is that too salty?)

I agree that several of these were a stretch. I enjoyed the puzzle still.

  53. Avatar_profilePeachfiorebrilliante on Thu Jan 10, 2008 11:45 PM

Sigh, I am still clueless on the ERs. I know they are together, but so...?

  54. Avatar_profileAppletravelocity on Fri Jan 11, 2008 12:23 AM

I still don't get the singer at all.
Edit: Got the singer thanks to [52] There should be a rule against using photos from shows that went off the air 40 years ago as clues...

[53] Starting with the Er's in the circle, try describing the picture aloud.
[14] Thanks for the salt on the Er's

  55. Avatar_small_flyStrawberrydomesticfly on Fri Jan 11, 2008 02:35 AM

You solved this puzzle in 0 seconds and were the 202nd Tanga member to solve it. You earned 20 points for solving this.

I'm pretty sure it took me longer than 0 seconds....

  56. 217303494_crw_7371110107Appleamaries80 on Fri Jan 11, 2008 06:19 AM

I need some salt for the tennis one. I have no clue what so ever! That is my only one left!! can someone help?!!!

  57. FileSailboatyelowflower on Fri Jan 11, 2008 06:23 AM

got all but the first one...the pic highlights the letter, but the answer seems to start with a different letter, am I reading that wrong?

  58. Current.deal.avOnionmonocle on Fri Jan 11, 2008 07:11 AM

stuck on the tennis one and the tall/short one.

  59. FilePlumdougtaylor1 on Fri Jan 11, 2008 07:19 AM

    [56][58] google tennis shots
[57] Say the letter in the picture out loud

  60. FileRocketkillerkarl2222 on Fri Jan 11, 2008 07:29 AM

Got all but including the first one and I have no idea how you get the answer out of the first one, I still liked it though

  61. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Fri Jan 11, 2008 07:37 AM

[60] You have to know what the instrument is in the pic. It is as much at home in an orchestra as in a jazz group.

  62. FileKiwichemguy on Fri Jan 11, 2008 08:43 AM

All I need is the tall/short one.

  63. Current.deal.avOnionmonocle on Fri Jan 11, 2008 09:07 AM

the last ones finally clicked for me. good puzzle

  64. FileRocketsteelersluver on Fri Jan 11, 2008 09:12 AM

[62] Think of different things the short one would be called that fit in with the theme of the puzzle.

  65. FilePeppercyncat on Fri Jan 11, 2008 09:33 AM

I got the "exotic" answers first, so I got stuck and couldn't get the simple ones (short girl and piece of wood) right away.

  66. FileRocketkillerkarl2222 on Fri Jan 11, 2008 10:38 AM

[61] I referenced the wrong first one. I met the first accross one with the mannequin and the girl. i think I have the girl reference.

  67. FileAppledingo262 on Fri Jan 11, 2008 11:01 AM

    Ugh,
Have all of them pretty easily, but still getting nixed on the completion. Are there any strange spellings in any of the answers?

  68. FileAppledingo262 on Fri Jan 11, 2008 11:01 AM

    Nevermind - found the problem

  69. Someguy2Radishcapkincaid on Fri Jan 11, 2008 11:21 AM

the only one I need is the thrid one, and i'm stumped.

  70. FileEggplantHackmaster12 on Fri Jan 11, 2008 11:28 AM

[69] I'll trade you the third one for the first one!

  71. SmalloldvelvetnoseRocketsdharing on Fri Jan 11, 2008 11:36 AM

The "er" one stumped me for a while, but I took a break, got some lunch, let it run around in my brain for a while, and then it hit me like a big ugly fish.

  72. Someguy2Radishcapkincaid on Fri Jan 11, 2008 11:49 AM

    BINGO!!!!!!!!

  73. Someguy2Radishcapkincaid on Fri Jan 11, 2008 11:48 AM

    Got it. yea.

  74. Someguy2Radishcapkincaid on Fri Jan 11, 2008 11:54 AM

So, what does the fifteenth one taste like?

  75. FileSailboatyelowflower on Fri Jan 11, 2008 12:34 PM

[59] thank you so much, that was what I needed...got it finally!!

  76. FileEggplantHackmaster12 on Fri Jan 11, 2008 12:40 PM

    [74] Chicken, of course.

  77. FilePumpkinBigSlick on Fri Jan 11, 2008 01:30 PM

    [74] It's a bit tough and chewy.

  78. FilePlumsjlee on Fri Jan 11, 2008 01:39 PM

The first picture doesn't really follow the rest of the answers... for the rest, you need to sound out what you see... with that one you need to actually know how to spell it correct, because how it sounds doesn't help.

  79. FilePlumsjlee on Fri Jan 11, 2008 01:47 PM

    [64] Dwarf? Midget? Shorty?

  80. FilePeppercyncat on Fri Jan 11, 2008 03:34 PM

[79] "jumbo xxxxxx" is an oxymoron.

  81. Avatar_profileOrangeJesterKnot on Fri Jan 11, 2008 04:59 PM

Loved the hat; er's were a bunch of pains. Can't for the life of me figure out the tennis swing or what baldy is doing.

  82. Avatar_profileOrangeJesterKnot on Fri Jan 11, 2008 05:11 PM

Must... resist... urge... to... scream. Or even hit the ball hard. Sounds more French than anything else.

  83. Avatar_profileStrawberrytwinim on Fri Jan 11, 2008 06:16 PM

[71] Thank you so much for that. It finally got it for me!

  84. Avatar_959_jpg100_200x200RaspberryRocketeer on Mon Feb 07, 2011 08:59 AM

    Guess I'm a little late - but got'em. Whew!

  85. FileOnionPatanga on Mon Jun 27, 2011 03:02 PM

I guess I am the only one who thought the circle er clue was one of the better ones.

  86. FileDuckiedharmaRN on Wed Jan 11, 2012 01:01 AM

[85] Agreed: my favorite 'AHA' of the bunch. The short female answer could have been clued better...
