Ooooh, second! Familiarity with the theme certainly helped.

  2. FileRaspberryBadMagic on Jan 07, 2008 07:07 PM

    Nice one!

  3. FileTomatoRagspur on Jan 07, 2008 07:09 PM

  4. FileCheeseburgerQurqirishDragon on Jan 07, 2008 07:20 PM

I didn't realize how much I knew of the theme. I only had to consult a list for three of them.

Long time since I've given 5 stars to a puzzle. Clear clues and an easily researchable theme, for anyone who catches on to the commonality and needs a hint for a clue. Great work, Mogri!

  6. Avatar_profileApplemispri2 on Jan 07, 2008 07:26 PM

    nice

  7. Ag1Potatojeep on Jan 07, 2008 07:28 PM

Wow, only had to look up one... but Bert?? ;)

  8. FileDuckiedavey3 on Jan 07, 2008 08:03 PM

Finally a hypercross I could do without Google!

    Nice one.

  9. Chain_bunnyEggIrrenarzt on Jan 07, 2008 08:04 PM

A couple of stretches there but a good puzzle.

  10. FileStrawberryronster0 on Jan 07, 2008 08:11 PM

Not bad, finding the theme helped out.

  11. Phi3CornPhilana on Jan 07, 2008 08:19 PM

    Very nice puzzle!

  12. FileAppleuriel_343 on Jan 07, 2008 08:28 PM

Nice puzzle. Not too difficult but very enjoyable. Thanks, M.

Thanks for the positive feedback! I can really only claim credit for the image composition as the rest is thanks to my dad, who has gotten himself a Tanga account and has made two or three more Hypercrosses on his own since. Hooray Tanga!

I had a lot of fun putting this together.

  14. Current.deal.avOnionmonocle on Jan 07, 2008 10:19 PM

that was fun. it took a while for me to get one... and then the theme clicked.

  15. FilePumpkinRickj4029 on Jan 07, 2008 10:54 PM

tic tac toe minus tac = ?

  16. Pigeon.poop.payoffApplemdin617 on Jan 07, 2008 11:21 PM

[15] ignore the label, focus on the object

  17. FilePlumdougtaylor1 on Jan 08, 2008 06:09 AM

[15] You almost have no know the them to get that one and some of the others like bert. Figure out the easy ones, get the theme and then sound the rest out.

  18. FilePepperChupper on Jan 08, 2008 06:14 AM

the wii clue is apparently pronounced by the minister in the Princess Bride. Mawwaige is what bwings us togever...

  19. BobnmaiaPotatoVermont_Bob on Jan 08, 2008 07:18 AM

nice one - only had to check wikipedia for one of them

  20. FileSailboatsteve59 on Jan 08, 2008 08:23 AM

I didn't even know that I knew that much about the topic. Great Job!

  21. Madmen_iconApplethewally42 on Jan 08, 2008 08:26 AM

Knowing the theme made that one a breeze, but the one with Bert makes me cringe.

  22. Madmen_iconApplethewally42 on Jan 08, 2008 08:26 AM

Knowing the theme made that one a breeze, but the one with Bert makes me cringe.

  23. Dave5Grapessaintomer on Jan 08, 2008 09:43 AM

Took me a while to get the theme. What with [18] and the colloquial 'hitch', I was stuck in a matrimonial jungle! But I was able to screen the answers and find the silver lining.

  24. FileGrapesmadhatternalice on Jan 08, 2008 10:27 AM

There were a few stretches (8 and 11), but with such an easy topic, they didn't prove bothersome. good work!

  25. Avatar_profileRocketjessew123 on Jan 08, 2008 10:39 AM

I really liked the elephant clue.

  26. FilePotatorevchewie on Jan 08, 2008 11:36 AM

Could someone Tangagram me... The first clue. I figured it out just because it fit. But what's the picture from?

  27. FileAcescarver on Jan 08, 2008 02:36 PM

revchewie [26], check the logo in the bottom right hand corner.

  28. FileAppleFez on Jan 08, 2008 02:34 PM

probably the first hypercross I did without google.

  29. Avatar_profileOrangeGmcash on Jan 08, 2008 02:38 PM

woo hoo my first puzzle without any salt

  30. FileStrawberrysquigsdad on Jan 08, 2008 02:54 PM

Loved it. Got stuck on four though. Kept thinking "stage fright"

  31. FilePancakesjmcintyre on Jan 08, 2008 05:06 PM

Got 'em all, no salt, no research... only 22 hours late! I liked it :)

  32. SmalloldvelvetnoseRocketsdharing on Jan 08, 2008 06:32 PM

Nice. Once I figured out the theme, it wasn't too bad. Good job!

  33. Avatar_profileWatermelonmaufry on Jan 10, 2008 10:54 AM
