  8. FileAppleABBAbear on Jul 29, 2007 07:18 PM

  9. FileDuckienrkii on Jul 29, 2007 07:20 PM

  16. FileDuckienrkii on Jul 29, 2007 07:27 PM

wow, that wasn't silk at all

  17. AvatarCarrotrobrizob on Jul 29, 2007 07:41 PM

Salt for the second to last across?

  18. FileStrawberryiaiaz on Jul 29, 2007 07:56 PM

w00t! My years of slaving in a costume shop in college have finally proved useful.

  19. Avatar_profileStrawberryThistle on Jul 29, 2007 08:06 PM

[17] for the second to last across, think Irish

  20. FileTomatobcgrote on Jul 29, 2007 08:13 PM

Yeah, easy for a threadhead like me!

That shiny red one is hard because you can't see the nap of it. It can be hard to photograph sometimes!

    It's commonly blue or black.

As far as the checkered shirt, sheets made of this are cozy in cold weather!

  21. Avatar_profilePearbigbam76 on Jul 29, 2007 08:19 PM

Can't get the leftmost down, any help with that one - stuffed bear didn't help me

  22. FilePearsabbath on Jul 29, 2007 08:24 PM

    One down please?

  23. FileRadishThosw on Jul 29, 2007 08:27 PM

2 across looks more like sail material to me.

  24. FileAceldstalk on Jul 29, 2007 09:12 PM

Left most down: Think of the type of pants that you hated to wear, but your mom always bought for you.

  25. FilePumpkinRickj4029 on Jul 29, 2007 10:25 PM

I don't agree that the green fabric is what the solution claims it is.

The answer is a very specific pattern that the picture does not show.

I was stuck on this forever.

  26. Avatar_profileStrawberrysyracuselaxfan on Jul 30, 2007 12:10 AM

wow...can't believe the top across wasn't silk or satin/sateen

  27. Avatar_profileAcehighfloydelity on Jul 30, 2007 06:29 AM

Is it just me or is 1 down shaped like an ear?

  28. FileDuckiedavey3 on Jul 30, 2007 06:34 AM

Never heard of the 2nd down fabric, but wiki helped.

  29. FilePepperChupper on Jul 30, 2007 07:44 AM

[17] You'd probably see it around Tammany Hall.

  30. HarleyKiwipetiepooch on Jul 30, 2007 08:00 AM

I agree that top across is definately a bad pix! Doesn't show up as a gooc representation.

  31. FilePlumsjlee on Jul 30, 2007 08:24 AM

[2] I thought that word was for the pattern.

  32. FilePlumsjlee on Jul 30, 2007 08:26 AM

[30] Maybe a mafia-type person wearing a jogging suit would be better?

  33. FilePlumsjlee on Jul 30, 2007 08:32 AM

[25] Green fabric? I must be missing something.

  34. FilePlumsjlee on Jul 30, 2007 09:07 AM

Could use some salt... I've got answers in all the boxes, but something still isn't right.

  35. FilePotatoDandelion_Wine on Jul 30, 2007 09:16 AM

sjlee - GM what you have

  36. FilePlumsjlee on Jul 30, 2007 11:20 AM

    [35] GM sent.

  37. FilePotatoDandelion_Wine on Jul 30, 2007 12:30 PM

Sorry sjlee - I was in a meeting (don't you hate when work gets in the way of life?!). First across is wrong - you're close though. I salted in my GM

  38. FileAppleTWhitsett on Jul 30, 2007 07:20 PM

ARGH!!! Another night with no new crossword? How will I be able to sleep?!?

  39. FileDuckiedavey3 on Jul 30, 2007 07:24 PM

Are these coming out every other night now? Too bad ... I actually like these more than the other puzzles most nights.

  40. FileApplegilby123 on Jul 30, 2007 07:37 PM

[39] Agreed. I like these most of all typically.

  41. Avatar_profileLemonSmubeht on Jul 30, 2007 08:20 PM

having trouble with left across and 3rd across

  42. Avatar_profileLemonSmubeht on Jul 30, 2007 08:21 PM

    whoops double post

  43. Avatar_profileLemonSmubeht on Jul 30, 2007 08:35 PM

    yay got it

  44. Avatar_profileGrapesShanni on Jul 30, 2007 11:28 PM

    Loin Cheese???? Ewwwwww...:)

  45. Avatar_profilePearfreelancelot on Jul 31, 2007 12:35 AM

[17] In case anyone hasn't gotten it yet, for three across the more common version of this fabric is used for a specific type of cap [salty link]: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flat_cap - I believe the existing clue photo is not the best representation of the fabric as traditionally used.

  46. Avatar_profilePearfreelancelot on Jul 31, 2007 12:50 AM

Also, two across is typically a much looser weave. I was a "closely-woven unbleached or white cotton cloth" for me for a long time until I did a crossword helper search and found the alternative! Perhaps the existing image is simply not "brown" enough and is photographed from too far away... Puzzle is a GREAT idea, but a couple of images are a tiny bit misleading.

  47. N1003868024_27949_9972BananaSchwade on Jul 31, 2007 07:21 AM

[6] and [11] were what I needed, Thanks!

  48. FilePotatoDevin8r on Jul 31, 2007 09:13 AM

Wow. I AM a freaking genius. I thought there was no way I'd get this. I was crushed by the top right for a little while, but I smoothed it out.

  49. FileDuckiedavey3 on Jul 31, 2007 08:36 PM

    No hypercross today either?

  50. FilePearckpete2887 on Aug 01, 2007 08:14 AM

    I'm sad...

  51. FilePepperChupper on Aug 01, 2007 10:10 AM

Tanga needs a way for people to submit hypercross ideas if they can't develop enough of them internally

  52. Sc002a57f6Pumpkinrunart on Aug 02, 2007 03:06 AM

    i'm sad too.

  53. FileStrawberrydivisionbyzorro on Aug 02, 2007 06:16 AM

    [51] I completely agree.

I have this fantasy that the reason we aren't seeing hypercross puzzles is because the moderator is building a hypercross submission page...

  54. Ace_20ace_20copy_1_AppleAce76 on Aug 02, 2007 07:53 AM

    We need more hypercross.

  55. FileGrapesdantan98 on Aug 02, 2007 08:10 AM

Someone shared this from the Easy Puzzle Today...

  56. FileAppleTangaJoe (Tanga Admin) on Aug 04, 2007 12:37 AM

I'm working on a tool that will let you make your own! Stay tuned. Sorry for the wait.

  57. ShirlRadishshirl60 on Oct 08, 2010 10:51 PM
