[3] #8 is the other one I'm missing. However, because the theme doesn't make any sense to me, I could have others wrong. I did think that the second part of #8 could be HD-TV minus TV.
[12] And is synonymous with the temporary insanity defense caused by biological factor in criminal murder trials (first applied to Dan White and his trial for the murder of Harvey Milk and George Moscone)
[17] Except that has a decidedly different ending to it. It was originally a cowboy saying. "Yippee kay ay yay, git along little doggies" (except it's pronounced dough-gies, lol)
[22] I saw the theme almost right away, 2 themes actually. well, more of a "something in common" really. Just that #8 had me. Thanks Scoutmom for the push.
besides 29 basically giving it away lol.. if your still stuck on number #8 and you've figured out what the theme is and what you're actually doing, just google "______ Ingredients" and look for a 4 letter ingredient.
Btw once you figure out the theme... I liked it. Another fun and simple puzzle. I hate the ones that take you hours if not days to figure out.
I guessed #10, and it still makes no sense with the clue...And after looking at the hints, apparently the clue numbers have changed since this puzzle was released.
What is #9?
NM - double post
#8 - milk + tv - tv?

[3] it says "better known as?" milk + "___ TV" - TV
[4] If your still looking for #9, it can be verb as well as a noun - when used to catch a stray
That's a certain type of flat panel (HD) TV. Not LCD, not LED, not ELD, but ?????
As for a theme - look at #10.
Edit to be a bit less obvious.
Phew, got it! It was #10 that I didn't have, not #9. (I could have sworn it was #9 before Tanga went down.)
Hmmmm...wish that helped.
Oh! New problem. Edit your post and your answers disappear...
edit: editing this one because now I HAVE all the answers, thanks to post/solve syndrome!
For those who don't remember (or know) #10. It was the mascot for a (in)famous Hostess treat.
What is #10 a peanut cowboy
What is the theme here?
[11] Not a peanut. From the same place that brings you Ding Dongs, Ho Hos and Suzy Qs.
[12] And is synonymous with the temporary insanity defense caused by biological factor in criminal murder trials (first applied to Dan White and his trial for the murder of Harvey Milk and George Moscone)
[13] And was featured in Ghostbusters as in "a ******* the size of New York"

[15] Yes, and once you Google that, you will want to edit your post for saltiness. :P
I got all the answers, but still don't get the theme... unless the title has to do with a particular line from Die Hard 2.
Theme has to do with #10. What he uses and what he's made of. Not the most internally cohesive of themes I will admit.
[16] Blood doesnt fit. Nor does DNA
I solved it. I don't feel like a Ding Dong now.
[17] Except that has a decidedly different ending to it. It was originally a cowboy saying. "Yippee kay ay yay, git along little doggies" (except it's pronounced dough-gies, lol)
Seems people didn't care for this, but I thought the approach to the theme was kinda neat.
Just a bunch of random clues till you get the theme, then you see how the clues are all the components of that theme.
Groan on #8, I should have seen it but still...
[22] I saw the theme almost right away, 2 themes actually. well, more of a "something in common" really. Just that #8 had me. Thanks Scoutmom for the push.
[22] I agree, quite clever.
I'm still not seeing #8
[25] Ditto.
EDIT - Got #8 (and a reminder that I need to take a class on "How to Google")
i liked this one!! 8 took some time to think and help from google but i got it
i got all but [8] .. googled all kinds of things .. no luck..
[25] [28] The puzzle had all the right ingredients for a good puzzle. I thought it was wheeeeyyyyy cool.
I don't get #1 and #4...I know the theme but...salt, please?
much thanks to [29] you salty dog!

Guessing at the TV one worked! Git along little doggies! (No salt there)
I guessed #10, and it still makes no sense with the clue...And after looking at the hints, apparently the clue numbers have changed since this puzzle was released.
