    What is #9?

  2. Phi3CornPhilana on Thu May 01, 2008 12:16 PM

    NM - double post

  3. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Thu May 01, 2008 01:07 PM

    #8 - milk + tv - tv?

  4. Phi3CornPhilana on Thu May 01, 2008 01:10 PM

[3] #8 is the other one I'm missing. However, because the theme doesn't make any sense to me, I could have others wrong. I did think that the second part of #8 could be HD-TV minus TV.

  5. FilePeppercyncat on Thu May 01, 2008 01:10 PM

[3] it says "better known as?" milk + "___ TV" - TV

  6. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Thu May 01, 2008 01:13 PM

[4] If your still looking for #9, it can be verb as well as a noun - when used to catch a stray

  7. FileEggRPardoe on Thu May 01, 2008 01:26 PM

That's a certain type of flat panel (HD) TV. Not LCD, not LED, not ELD, but ?????

As for a theme - look at #10.

Edit to be a bit less obvious.

  8. Phi3CornPhilana on Thu May 01, 2008 01:15 PM

Phew, got it! It was #10 that I didn't have, not #9. (I could have sworn it was #9 before Tanga went down.)

  9. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Thu May 01, 2008 01:17 PM

    Hmmmm...wish that helped.

Oh! New problem. Edit your post and your answers disappear...

edit: editing this one because now I HAVE all the answers, thanks to post/solve syndrome!

  10. FileEggRPardoe on Thu May 01, 2008 01:18 PM

For those who don't remember (or know) #10. It was the mascot for a (in)famous Hostess treat.

  11. FileClockmust67 on Thu May 01, 2008 01:17 PM

What is #10 a peanut cowboy
    What is the theme here?

  12. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Thu May 01, 2008 01:18 PM

[11] Not a peanut. From the same place that brings you Ding Dongs, Ho Hos and Suzy Qs.

  13. FileEggRPardoe on Thu May 01, 2008 01:21 PM

[12] And is synonymous with the temporary insanity defense caused by biological factor in criminal murder trials (first applied to Dan White and his trial for the murder of Harvey Milk and George Moscone)

  14. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Thu May 01, 2008 01:21 PM

[13] And was featured in Ghostbusters as in "a ******* the size of New York"

  16. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Thu May 01, 2008 01:23 PM

[15] Yes, and once you Google that, you will want to edit your post for saltiness. :P

  17. FileEggMurdoctor on Thu May 01, 2008 01:30 PM

I got all the answers, but still don't get the theme... unless the title has to do with a particular line from Die Hard 2.

  18. FileEggRPardoe on Thu May 01, 2008 01:28 PM

Theme has to do with #10. What he uses and what he's made of. Not the most internally cohesive of themes I will admit.

  19. Avatar_profileBananatrevelyan on Thu May 01, 2008 01:34 PM

[16] Blood doesnt fit. Nor does DNA

  20. Ronald-mcd-3EggKilgore on Thu May 01, 2008 01:52 PM

I solved it. I don't feel like a Ding Dong now.

  21. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Thu May 01, 2008 03:01 PM

[17] Except that has a decidedly different ending to it. It was originally a cowboy saying. "Yippee kay ay yay, git along little doggies" (except it's pronounced dough-gies, lol)

  22. Donimo_pirate_beatlesEggDonimo on Thu May 01, 2008 03:33 PM

Seems people didn't care for this, but I thought the approach to the theme was kinda neat.

Just a bunch of random clues till you get the theme, then you see how the clues are all the components of that theme.

  23. AvatarDuckiesteph_frolin on Thu May 01, 2008 03:36 PM

Groan on #8, I should have seen it but still...

[22] I saw the theme almost right away, 2 themes actually. well, more of a "something in common" really. Just that #8 had me. Thanks Scoutmom for the push.

  24. FilePancakesbrupop on Thu May 01, 2008 05:02 PM

    [22] I agree, quite clever.

  25. Pretzel3_profileTomatoDavmar on Thu May 01, 2008 07:55 PM

    I'm still not seeing #8

  26. 0900hawkflyingStrawberrynfhawk on Fri May 02, 2008 05:16 AM

    [25] Ditto.

EDIT - Got #8 (and a reminder that I need to take a class on "How to Google")

  27. K2Grapesskierbighead on Thu May 01, 2008 09:23 PM

i liked this one!! 8 took some time to think and help from google but i got it

  28. FileCarrotleftyleo on Fri May 02, 2008 08:10 AM

i got all but [8] .. googled all kinds of things .. no luck..

  29. DawgheadsmallGrapesfiredawgsa on Fri May 02, 2008 08:23 AM

[25] [28] The puzzle had all the right ingredients for a good puzzle. I thought it was wheeeeyyyyy cool.

  30. Avatar_profileEggplantrdunlap1125 on Fri May 02, 2008 09:32 AM

    I don't get #1 and #4...I know the theme but...salt, please?

  31. GarfieldBananakmoreland on Fri May 02, 2008 09:48 AM

much thanks to [29] you salty dog!

  32. Avatar_profileLemonjmfx on Mon May 05, 2008 11:07 PM

besides 29 basically giving it away lol.. if your still stuck on number #8 and you've figured out what the theme is and what you're actually doing, just google "______ Ingredients" and look for a 4 letter ingredient.

Btw once you figure out the theme... I liked it. Another fun and simple puzzle. I hate the ones that take you hours if not days to figure out.

  33. Aug080195Eggplantgusssr on Sat Apr 03, 2010 01:57 PM

Guessing at the TV one worked! Git along little doggies! (No salt there)

  34. Avatar_profilePearriddlescn on Sat Oct 09, 2010 03:23 PM

I guessed #10, and it still makes no sense with the clue...And after looking at the hints, apparently the clue numbers have changed since this puzzle was released.
