Anyone figured out the top down? It seems almost too obscure.

  2. Avatar_profileBananaAossHat on Aug 06, 2007 07:19 PM

If you're talking about the 5 letter clue, try paying more attention to what's in the bottom right of the picture.

  3. FileRadishThosw on Aug 06, 2007 07:19 PM

The guy? What's Up with that?

I'm still missing the far right down.

  4. ApparatusGrapesApparatus on Aug 06, 2007 07:21 PM

[2] Um, maybe your eyes are better than mine.

  5. Avatar_profileBananaAossHat on Aug 06, 2007 07:40 PM

[4] - It says "Eh, What's up, Harold? Bugs Bunny & gang." and then a wiped out area that contains a name.

  6. ApparatusGrapesApparatus on Aug 06, 2007 07:22 PM

[3] Think about another name for bills of money.

  7. Avatar_profileRocketgreenie on Aug 06, 2007 07:26 PM

For the top down, think Warner Brothers . . . I could use some help with the last down and the last across

  8. FileRadishThosw on Aug 06, 2007 07:25 PM

[7] If you know who the one on the left is, she had a big blowup a couple of years ago.

  9. ApparatusGrapesApparatus on Aug 06, 2007 07:27 PM

Any other salt beyond Warner Bros?

  10. FileRadishThosw on Aug 06, 2007 07:30 PM

[9] You're probably drawing one right now...

And I'm still not getting the far right down.

  11. Avatar_profileWatermelonclhathat on Aug 06, 2007 07:33 PM

hmm still missing the far right, despite help from [6]

    EDIT: never mind, got it

  12. Avatar_profileRocketgreenie on Aug 06, 2007 07:43 PM

Thanks [7] - I assume that is salt for the long across. (I just got it). It's the bottom and the far right that have me now. (Got the bottom, but more salt for the far right = dang it, I have the third letter and all!)

As far as more salt, I don't know how I can give it without making it too obvious, but I will say that I saw this guy speak about 25 years ago, and he got a standing ovation with the first three words out of his mouth . . . "What's up, Doc?"

  13. Avatar_profileBananaAossHat on Aug 06, 2007 07:31 PM

[10] It's an order! Think of a different and less complicated way to say it.

  14. ApparatusGrapesApparatus on Aug 06, 2007 07:37 PM

I'm starting to think I may just have one misspelled now. Some of these are hard to know if you have them correct as it appears multiple answers fit some.

Okay, maybe I have the 4 letter one wrong. Sheesh

  15. Avatar_profilePearbigbam76 on Aug 06, 2007 07:40 PM

with all that help out there, i still can't come up with the furthest to the right, down. It just won't click. Any other salt available?

  16. FileSailboatDAbrames on Aug 06, 2007 07:42 PM

[15] It's one of the most pictured (and parodied) ones in North America.

  17. Avatar_profileWatermelonclhathat on Aug 06, 2007 07:43 PM

[15] the hints are actually the opposite of what the answer is

  18. FileSailboatDAbrames on Aug 06, 2007 07:42 PM

Now if I could get some clues on who these girls are in the long across...

  19. FilePeachTGov on Aug 06, 2007 07:44 PM

I have everything but the bottom one across.....I think :)

I am pretty sure I have the far right one as it is really the only one that fits, but it doesn't make sense to me.

  20. FileRadishThosw on Aug 06, 2007 07:44 PM

[17] That's the first real help I've had. Nothing indicates it's opposite day.

  21. Avatar_profilePearbigbam76 on Aug 06, 2007 07:45 PM

[18] First one was in a sitcom with Paul Reiser

[16] & [17] Thanks, actually got it just before you rang in

  22. Avatar_profileRocketgreenie on Aug 06, 2007 07:45 PM

    [16] - Thanks, got it!

  23. Avatar_profileBananaAossHat on Aug 06, 2007 07:46 PM

[18] They all have the same first name. That hint is about As Good as it Gets. Remember this help and Pay it Forward.

  24. ApparatusGrapesApparatus on Aug 06, 2007 07:48 PM

Any salt for "In Vietnam" ?

  25. FileDuckiedavey3 on Aug 06, 2007 07:49 PM

Far right down was the toughest one here. Even after looking through some relevant topic lists, I wound up using a crossword solver to get it.

  26. FileDuckiedavey3 on Aug 06, 2007 07:50 PM

    [24] - it's literally "in vietnam".

  27. Avatar_profileBananaAossHat on Aug 06, 2007 07:50 PM

[24] It's a very literal hint, and you shouldn't need to look anywhere but the puzzle to get the answer.

  28. ApparatusGrapesApparatus on Aug 06, 2007 07:51 PM

[26] Hmmm... I've tried searching but not finding it. Guess I'll have to go a different route.

  29. Avatar_profileBananaAossHat on Aug 06, 2007 08:02 PM

There's really no need to search, it's right in front of your face.

  30. FilePeachTGov on Aug 06, 2007 08:03 PM

still stuck on the bottom one :(

  31. Avatar_profilePearbigbam76 on Aug 06, 2007 08:11 PM

[30] Its actually two clues in one, no research necessary, just break it down

  32. FilePeachTGov on Aug 06, 2007 08:16 PM

    [31] um...ya....still nothing...lol

  33. FilePeachTGov on Aug 06, 2007 08:20 PM

oh..ok I get it.... the whole keeping with the theme thing got me there....little broader than I thought.

  34. FilePeachTGov on Aug 06, 2007 08:23 PM

I was pretty sure I had all of them spelled correctly, but still no go :(

    hmmmm

  35. Avatar_profileWatermelonIschmael on Aug 06, 2007 08:24 PM

I might have most of it except for the last one across the bottom: 7 letters, 4th letter is R. Any help?

[28] AossHat (#27) gave you a very good clue. Don't go a different route.

  36. FilePeachTGov on Aug 06, 2007 08:24 PM

    never mind :P

  37. Avatar_profileWatermelonIschmael on Aug 06, 2007 08:30 PM

[35] I should learn to hit the "Refresh Comments" button.

    Thanks for the salt.

  38. Avatar_profileKiwiSilverSabre25 on Aug 06, 2007 08:54 PM

Bleh....we didn't like the far right down. Unfortunately for us, we were going after the wrong theme for quite awhile.

  39. FileTomatobcgrote on Aug 06, 2007 09:14 PM

I also have them all, spelled right, but it calls me dude still.....

  40. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Aug 06, 2007 09:17 PM

    [39] Tanga Tenderfoot bcgrote
I'll spell check for you if you GM me (pbleadfoot)

  41. FileTomatobcgrote on Aug 06, 2007 09:17 PM

The one east of Java is spelled with 2 k's...

  42. FileTomatobcgrote on Aug 06, 2007 09:21 PM

    thru bgg, pb?

    edit:
    gm sent..

  43. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Aug 06, 2007 09:29 PM

gm'd back - one mis-spelling... the African one

  44. FileTomatobcgrote on Aug 06, 2007 09:30 PM

So, one the 3rd one down, why would they put one letter when the correct answer is another?
It would have been just as useful a clue to put I.... No other clues had dodgy letters, they were straight forward.. waaaaahh, I'll go suck my thumb now!

    Thanks, Pb!!

  45. AvatarCarrotrobrizob on Aug 06, 2007 09:30 PM

The clue is a bit misleading on the longest one down. The clue is phonetic while the spelling is not.

  46. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Aug 06, 2007 09:36 PM

    [44] bcgrote

I hadn't even noticed that! Once I got over the fact that the first picture wasn't "tartan" I sounded it out and typed it in without thinking, but you are right - except for that letter (which still would have sounded right) the clue wold be spelled right....

    -- anytime!

  47. FileStrawberryiaiaz on Aug 06, 2007 11:15 PM

I've done all of them except, for all the salt given, I still can't figure out the right-most down.

  48. Avatar_profileGrapesmwechter on Aug 06, 2007 11:45 PM

Anybody else unable to load the clues? All I get are error messages starting about two weeks ago. Any help would be appreciated-- is there a program I need to see the clues?

  49. FilePumpkinJohn on Aug 07, 2007 12:01 AM

[48] You should submit a Tangagram and include your browser specs, so Joe can try to figure out what's wrong.

  50. FilePlumsjlee on Aug 07, 2007 08:38 AM

[47] The right-most down doesn't fit the category as the rest of the answer. The clue is also very poor. It should read something like...

    "Take your time" less

  51. FilePlumsjlee on Aug 07, 2007 08:43 AM

Farthest left also suffers the same problem as the farthest right... neither fits into the category of the others.

By the way... I don't see how the title of this puzzle fits the theme.

  52. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Aug 07, 2007 08:54 AM

    [51] sjlee
well --- there are seven ... I just don't get the card bit...

  53. FileGrapesdantan98 on Aug 07, 2007 09:27 AM

It's a new spin on an old game. We all know Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Draw... This is just Seven Card Peek! ;-]

  54. FileCarrotpitamuffin on Aug 07, 2007 09:40 AM

Getting the far right down was downright painful!

  55. FileAppleRSeery on Aug 07, 2007 11:06 AM

Any salt for the bottom one across?

  56. FilePeachTuro on Aug 07, 2007 11:14 AM

Woohoo! Solved my first Tanga Puzzle

  57. FileStrawberryiaiaz on Aug 07, 2007 11:46 AM

Finally got the right-most word, after the re-considering [16]'s clue and finally getting the AHA factor 10 hours later.
    Sneaky stuff, that is.

  58. FileAppleRSeery on Aug 07, 2007 12:18 PM

I'm still stumped on "the first woman to take a break". Nothing on BGG. a lil help?

  59. FileStrawberryLudocrazy on Aug 07, 2007 12:39 PM

I have them all spelled correctly and it's not accepting the answers.

  60. Club_liverpoolAppleJLRobert on Aug 07, 2007 12:45 PM

[58] It's more than one clue.

  61. FileAppleRSeery on Aug 07, 2007 12:59 PM

[60] Thank you!!! I was reading it as one line and I don't think I ever would have stopped doing that!!

  62. Avatar_profileCherriesJimbo on Aug 07, 2007 02:14 PM

Vesuvius fit the far right (even though it didn't fit the clue) but is far from right.

    Woo hoo, finally got them.

  63. FileGarlicmartinp13 on Aug 07, 2007 02:36 PM

And Wiki's "List of [things this puzzle is about]" doesn't help with the far right down. God bless [16], [17], and [50]. :)

  64. FilePotatoDandelion_Wine on Aug 07, 2007 02:50 PM

[59]Check your spelling on the left-most down. Otherwise feel free to GM me.

  65. Avatar_12-08Pancakesthreehojos on Aug 07, 2007 06:14 PM

help with the bugs bunny one?
I think I have the rest!

  66. Avatar_profilePearindiexxx on Aug 07, 2007 06:24 PM

The clue for the second from left down is wrong spelling.

  67. Avatar_profileOrangeSpeedy78 on Aug 07, 2007 06:45 PM

[66] no that is how he spelled his name. The clue is correct

  68. Avatar_profilePearindiexxx on Aug 07, 2007 06:53 PM

Oops, I meant to say second from RIGHT (going left) down.

  69. FilePearDubStar on Aug 07, 2007 07:37 PM

Any help for the 11 letter across ( with the stained tie and ladies)?

  70. FilePeachTGov on Aug 07, 2007 08:20 PM

where is the new one? Or is this one not a one a day puzzle?

  71. FilePeachTGov on Aug 07, 2007 08:20 PM

where is the new one? Or is this one not a one a day puzzle?

  72. FileEggplantarcbat on Aug 07, 2007 09:20 PM

I really thought these were all going to be volcanoes, but the one on the far right is definitely NOT.

  73. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Aug 07, 2007 09:24 PM

    Neither is the bottom across
    nor the second down...

  74. FileEggplantarcbat on Aug 07, 2007 09:23 PM

[69] One thing to note is that there are two words, handled separately. The top pic and the words below it are resolved for word 1, the bottom 3 pics are resolved for word 2. And it helps to know who those women are.

  75. FileEggplantarcbat on Aug 07, 2007 09:28 PM

[71] This is a one-a-day puzzle subject to the supply lines. For a long time, they had a new one every day. Lately, Tanga hasn't had time to keep up that pace, so they post a new one whenever they have one, which seems to be every few days.

It's also interesting to note, you can go back and do the old Hypercross puzzles for credit. So, if you're new to Tanga, there's a vast treasure trove of old puzzles, and the old Hypercross puzzles can still give you points.

  76. Avatar_profilePeachweasel75 on Aug 07, 2007 10:19 PM

The clue for the 11-letter word down doesn't exactly match the answer. It has an 'A' in the rebus but there should be an 'I', right?

  77. The_midnight_sun_by_isilmetrielPeachthetragedie on Aug 07, 2007 11:10 PM

Just realized that 4-letter clue isn't actually physically within the political boundaries of Vietnam.

  78. Avatar_12-08Pancakesthreehojos on Aug 08, 2007 06:56 AM

Yesssssss! Finally! Hardest hypercross I have done so far

  79. FilePotatoDandelion_Wine on Aug 08, 2007 07:06 AM

[76]With rebus you're going for sounds - so that although it is spelled with an 'I', it sounds {at least to us midwesterners ;) } like an 'A'

  80. FilePepperChupper on Aug 08, 2007 09:48 AM

    Salt for some clues:

Long Across: If you know one of the women, you know them all
    Far Right Down: Think opposites

  81. FileKiwidmatos on Aug 08, 2007 04:04 PM

    Ok, that was a toughy.

  82. Wjfraggle7Strawberryilliniphase4 on Aug 08, 2007 07:39 PM

All spelled correctly, still no worky.

  83. FileStrawberryUofIKappaDelta on Aug 08, 2007 07:41 PM

alright... I've got them all. It is not accepting it. What am I missing here??? I checked all the spelling online???

  84. Avatar_profileOrangeSpeedy78 on Aug 09, 2007 02:28 AM

There are 2 common and 1 not so common way to spell the far left down.

  85. Avatar_profileCherriesstrawbrary on Aug 09, 2007 08:08 AM

where did the guy with the loony toons come from? ?(

  86. Avatar_profilePearaneese on Aug 09, 2007 10:59 AM

wasn't this puzzle from two days ago

  87. FilePotatoDandelion_Wine on Aug 09, 2007 02:51 PM

[86]yeppers. They're not being updated daily at the moment.

  88. FilePeachTGov on Aug 09, 2007 07:31 PM

    uggghh..I need a new crossword :)

  89. Avatar_profileStrawberrysyracuselaxfan on Aug 10, 2007 02:42 AM

    this sucks.

  90. FileKiwikasreb on Aug 10, 2007 05:40 AM

what is the picture in far left down

  91. FileKiwikasreb on Aug 10, 2007 05:41 AM

is it a crack? because I got nothin

  92. FileStrawberrydivisionbyzorro on Aug 10, 2007 06:48 AM

[91] Yes, it is a crack.

  93. FilePumpkinDisreputable on Aug 10, 2007 07:22 AM

Huct onn fonicks wurct fore mee!

Ok, I have issue with that "A" next to that men's room sign! It should be an "I"!

  94. Avatar_profilePeachhershb007 on Aug 10, 2007 08:53 AM

Left most and right most down and bottom across I've got nothing...
    Crackatoea? lol

  95. Avatar_profileOrangedavedave24 on Aug 10, 2007 09:11 AM

[94] you're not far from korrect there

  96. FilePeachyoda31419 on Aug 10, 2007 12:38 PM

I disliked the various spellings of a few of them.

  97. Ace_20ace_20copy_1_AppleAce76 on Aug 10, 2007 02:06 PM

    That was a tough one.

  98. FilePeachdiehard4life on Aug 10, 2007 07:57 PM

Would someone give me the first letter of the far right one? I simply cannot follow that clue...

  99. Got_eyelinerLemonMysti on Aug 11, 2007 08:46 PM

All words present and accounted for but I am still Dude. Must be some misspellings but I can't figure out what they could be.....

  100. Avatar_profileStrawberrysyracuselaxfan on Aug 12, 2007 03:18 AM
