Anyone figured out the top down? It seems almost too obscure.
If you're talking about the 5 letter clue, try paying more attention to what's in the bottom right of the picture.
The guy? What's Up with that?
I'm still missing the far right down.
[2] Um, maybe your eyes are better than mine.
[4] - It says "Eh, What's up, Harold? Bugs Bunny & gang." and then a wiped out area that contains a name.
[3] Think about another name for bills of money.
For the top down, think Warner Brothers . . . I could use some help with the last down and the last across
[7] If you know who the one on the left is, she had a big blowup a couple of years ago.
Any other salt beyond Warner Bros?
[9] You're probably drawing one right now...
And I'm still not getting the far right down.
hmm still missing the far right, despite help from [6]
EDIT: never mind, got it
Thanks [7] - I assume that is salt for the long across. (I just got it). It's the bottom and the far right that have me now. (Got the bottom, but more salt for the far right = dang it, I have the third letter and all!)
As far as more salt, I don't know how I can give it without making it too obvious, but I will say that I saw this guy speak about 25 years ago, and he got a standing ovation with the first three words out of his mouth . . . "What's up, Doc?"
[10] It's an order! Think of a different and less complicated way to say it.
I'm starting to think I may just have one misspelled now. Some of these are hard to know if you have them correct as it appears multiple answers fit some.
Okay, maybe I have the 4 letter one wrong. Sheesh
with all that help out there, i still can't come up with the furthest to the right, down. It just won't click. Any other salt available?
[15] It's one of the most pictured (and parodied) ones in North America.
[15] the hints are actually the opposite of what the answer is
Now if I could get some clues on who these girls are in the long across...
I have everything but the bottom one across.....I think :)
I am pretty sure I have the far right one as it is really the only one that fits, but it doesn't make sense to me.
[17] That's the first real help I've had. Nothing indicates it's opposite day.
[18] First one was in a sitcom with Paul Reiser
[16] & [17] Thanks, actually got it just before you rang in
[16] - Thanks, got it!
[18] They all have the same first name. That hint is about As Good as it Gets. Remember this help and Pay it Forward.
Any salt for "In Vietnam" ?
Far right down was the toughest one here. Even after looking through some relevant topic lists, I wound up using a crossword solver to get it.
[24] - it's literally "in vietnam".
[24] It's a very literal hint, and you shouldn't need to look anywhere but the puzzle to get the answer.
[26] Hmmm... I've tried searching but not finding it. Guess I'll have to go a different route.
There's really no need to search, it's right in front of your face.
still stuck on the bottom one :(
[30] Its actually two clues in one, no research necessary, just break it down
[31] um...ya....still nothing...lol
oh..ok I get it.... the whole keeping with the theme thing got me there....little broader than I thought.
I was pretty sure I had all of them spelled correctly, but still no go :(
hmmmm
I might have most of it except for the last one across the bottom: 7 letters, 4th letter is R. Any help?
[28] AossHat (#27) gave you a very good clue. Don't go a different route.
never mind :P
[35] I should learn to hit the "Refresh Comments" button.
Thanks for the salt.
Bleh....we didn't like the far right down. Unfortunately for us, we were going after the wrong theme for quite awhile.
I also have them all, spelled right, but it calls me dude still.....
[39] Tanga Tenderfoot bcgrote
I'll spell check for you if you GM me (pbleadfoot)
The one east of Java is spelled with 2 k's...
thru bgg, pb?
edit:
gm sent..
gm'd back - one mis-spelling... the African one
So, one the 3rd one down, why would they put one letter when the correct answer is another?
It would have been just as useful a clue to put I.... No other clues had dodgy letters, they were straight forward.. waaaaahh, I'll go suck my thumb now!
Thanks, Pb!!
The clue is a bit misleading on the longest one down. The clue is phonetic while the spelling is not.
[44] bcgrote
I hadn't even noticed that! Once I got over the fact that the first picture wasn't "tartan" I sounded it out and typed it in without thinking, but you are right - except for that letter (which still would have sounded right) the clue wold be spelled right....
-- anytime!
I've done all of them except, for all the salt given, I still can't figure out the right-most down.
Anybody else unable to load the clues? All I get are error messages starting about two weeks ago. Any help would be appreciated-- is there a program I need to see the clues?
[48] You should submit a Tangagram and include your browser specs, so Joe can try to figure out what's wrong.
[47] The right-most down doesn't fit the category as the rest of the answer. The clue is also very poor. It should read something like...
"Take your time" less
Farthest left also suffers the same problem as the farthest right... neither fits into the category of the others.
By the way... I don't see how the title of this puzzle fits the theme.
[51] sjlee
well --- there are seven ... I just don't get the card bit...
It's a new spin on an old game. We all know Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Draw... This is just Seven Card Peek! ;-]
Getting the far right down was downright painful!
Any salt for the bottom one across?
Woohoo! Solved my first Tanga Puzzle
Finally got the right-most word, after the re-considering [16]'s clue and finally getting the AHA factor 10 hours later.
Sneaky stuff, that is.
I'm still stumped on "the first woman to take a break". Nothing on BGG. a lil help?
I have them all spelled correctly and it's not accepting the answers.
[58] It's more than one clue.
[60] Thank you!!! I was reading it as one line and I don't think I ever would have stopped doing that!!
Vesuvius fit the far right (even though it didn't fit the clue) but is far from right.
Woo hoo, finally got them.
And Wiki's "List of [things this puzzle is about]" doesn't help with the far right down. God bless [16], [17], and [50]. :)
[59]Check your spelling on the left-most down. Otherwise feel free to GM me.
help with the bugs bunny one?
I think I have the rest!
The clue for the second from left down is wrong spelling.
[66] no that is how he spelled his name. The clue is correct
Oops, I meant to say second from RIGHT (going left) down.
Any help for the 11 letter across ( with the stained tie and ladies)?
where is the new one? Or is this one not a one a day puzzle?
where is the new one? Or is this one not a one a day puzzle?
I really thought these were all going to be volcanoes, but the one on the far right is definitely NOT.
Neither is the bottom across
nor the second down...
[69] One thing to note is that there are two words, handled separately. The top pic and the words below it are resolved for word 1, the bottom 3 pics are resolved for word 2. And it helps to know who those women are.
[71] This is a one-a-day puzzle subject to the supply lines. For a long time, they had a new one every day. Lately, Tanga hasn't had time to keep up that pace, so they post a new one whenever they have one, which seems to be every few days.
It's also interesting to note, you can go back and do the old Hypercross puzzles for credit. So, if you're new to Tanga, there's a vast treasure trove of old puzzles, and the old Hypercross puzzles can still give you points.
The clue for the 11-letter word down doesn't exactly match the answer. It has an 'A' in the rebus but there should be an 'I', right?
Just realized that 4-letter clue isn't actually physically within the political boundaries of Vietnam.
Yesssssss! Finally! Hardest hypercross I have done so far
[76]With rebus you're going for sounds - so that although it is spelled with an 'I', it sounds {at least to us midwesterners ;) } like an 'A'
Salt for some clues:
Long Across: If you know one of the women, you know them all
Far Right Down: Think opposites
Ok, that was a toughy.
All spelled correctly, still no worky.
alright... I've got them all. It is not accepting it. What am I missing here??? I checked all the spelling online???
There are 2 common and 1 not so common way to spell the far left down.
where did the guy with the loony toons come from? ?(
wasn't this puzzle from two days ago
[86]yeppers. They're not being updated daily at the moment.
uggghh..I need a new crossword :)
this sucks.
what is the picture in far left down
is it a crack? because I got nothin
[91] Yes, it is a crack.
Huct onn fonicks wurct fore mee!
Ok, I have issue with that "A" next to that men's room sign! It should be an "I"!
Left most and right most down and bottom across I've got nothing...
Crackatoea? lol
[94] you're not far from korrect there
I disliked the various spellings of a few of them.
That was a tough one.
Would someone give me the first letter of the far right one? I simply cannot follow that clue...
All words present and accounted for but I am still Dude. Must be some misspellings but I can't figure out what they could be.....
can we please get a new crossword up here??
