All but 6
got it
There is a problem with plurals on some of these
It's a real shame to publish this on the same day as a much better version is featured. In fact, it's a shame to publish it at all. Given the theme word, X, we've got three different kinds of clues:
(a) Pictures of words containing X (e.g. #1).
(b) Pictures that clue words by using X in them (e.g. #2).
(c) Pictures that clue words by showing X things (e.g. #3).
That's extremely clumsy.
6 seems like it should be foursome, but that doesn't fit.
[1] and [3] #6 is a generic mathematical term for what you see.
[2] I imagine that's why this one is UNfeatured. While it's true that it suffers by comparison to tonight's featured hypercross, it was enjoyable in its own way, so I'm glad it wasn't rejected. What better time to publish it than at 7:44 on 7/4?
But it's not just that it suffers in comparison, J; it's also the dreadful inconsistency in cluing.
[5] Many of the unfeatured puzzles are clumsy in one way or another. I really miss the daily hypers, and I'd much rather see one that plays with words (albeit inconsistently) than one that makes me google obscure images.
Any salt on 14? Am I looking for the model? Is it sold in the US?
[7] if you have enough money you can "somthing" the car. What make of car is it? say it quickly
any help on 15
well done mystical!
[8] The picture isn't of a specific garmet, but of things you wear....
Still stuck on #6
the garmets #15 have me stumped.
"solved this puzzle" after sticking on #15 last. that word is current today.

[8] might be a ONE racing car ...
"Expected value of random variable R_i" does not fit in #6. :p
I'm not as picky as [2]. Good puzzle.
