8th! This was nicely done.

Fun! Some great clues.

Dang, can't get the beetle!

I've got all but John Wayne... Halp!

red e?

[4] I'm with you...tried all sorts of stuff, too.

ETA: per usual, saw it as soon as I posted. That one is commonly used medicinally. It's supposed to be good for depression.

[5] it's not the color, it's the size that counts

[4] I hope old Duke is in heaven now. Otherwise, I'd have to take something for depression.

I was totally going to make this puzzle with a few of the same clues (particularly with the bird), but you definitely outdid all of my other ideas. The 'e' clue is fantastic.

[7] THANKS!
[4][6] He's sanctified, and has a blemish, to which the name refers. Check spelling.

[4] Check his picture carefully. Is anything striking about it?

27th! My years of botany training did me proud!

[3] Would you rather that there was a Lexus or a Jaguar there?

Woot! Two top 100s in one night!

Thanks, [4]. I know much more about medicinal plants than the garden type.

Mogri, great puzzle. Your Papa really liked it.

okay I've got them all and they won't take...can any one check my spelling if I tg you please?

[3] think generic...not bug

Drat. I have something wrong... but what? Everything fits.

It helps to say what you're seeing out loud for this puzzle.

[19] that's my problem too

Found it. *whew*

Great puzzle. :)

[18] [19] TG your answers to me and I'll check them

Some lovely clues here. Great puzzle!

[23] coming at ya...thanks!

Thanks scarver...not the way my dear old dad (the gardener) spelled it and it also googled write my way too...never mind...still top 100.

cute tiny e!!!

Never mind... found it.

[28] I don't think any are misspelled, but you might try checking your answers for the princess and for the duke, since it's likely that those would be the ones for which you might have had another spelling.

Lost on the ox-lip!

[29] It was the princess. Thanks.

[30] Consider its gender.

[31] Doh! Thanks!

Driving me bat-e, any help with my last one?

[33] I can see you're in a pickle. It's not a sweet (or sour) place to be. I'll try to give you a kosher clue: What other kind of pickle is there? Then say it all out loud.

Excellent clues!

nice puzzle. great clues. I do seem to recall doing one with this very theme not too long ago. But who cares? Lord knows we have had repeats of sports themes and what not.

The Duke was giving me trouble... I thought he had his nose pierced for a while. And then when I got... I spelled it wrong and spent some time tracking that down.

Some duplicate answers - but only one similar clue.

I really loved the duke!!

[36] Me, too- my husband and I both thought that was a nose ring. heh.

What really gets me is that I have a bunch of that very thing growing along the side of our house... sheesh. Me dumb.

I got them all pretty easy - but now stuck on the Susan B Anthony one! Apparently nobody else had trouble with it...

D'uh! No wonder nobody else was stuck, moments after typing that I saw how easy it was.

i must be really dumb not to know what the cowslip one is but i got evthing else. please help

[41] TOO SALTY

[41] [42] that's hilarious. I was having the same problem. Sometimes when you don't know the subject, you just have to type what you see!

[39] She probably eats a particular bean on new year's day

Thanks [41] ... just the salt I needed!

Any more salt on the e? EDIT: nevermind, found it in a list. :)

Great Puzzle! Needed some google help, but this one was fun!

Bird and VW Bug were terrible clues. I loved the puzzle until those two...
