    Nice! Some fun clues.

  2. FilePotatoDoomDahDoomDoom on Mar 30, 2008 07:07 PM

ok, I've got about half of them (I think)... but I am not getting this theme at all... I'm sure it would help with the ones I've got no clue on ... any salt on this theme?

  3. Avatar_profileAppleMrGoat on Mar 30, 2008 07:09 PM

No idea on a theme. I think I have all but 7, 10, and 12

  4. FilePancakesArnott (Tanga Admin) on Mar 30, 2008 07:11 PM

Well, completing the title will give you the theme. But you might wanna remove the word "try" first.

  5. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Mar 30, 2008 07:11 PM

I think I have them all, but something must be spelled wrong?

  6. Bunny91Garlicheatherlouwho on Mar 30, 2008 07:11 PM

    Not taking my answers. Grrr....

  7. FileAcescarver on Mar 30, 2008 07:11 PM

    I have a theme but can't get 4, 7 or 13

  8. FileEggplantrdunlap1125 on Mar 30, 2008 07:11 PM

[6] Check your spelling on #5, remembering the theme.

  9. BearSailboatkarp on Mar 30, 2008 07:12 PM

    Any salt for #10?

  10. FileSailboatyelowflower on Mar 30, 2008 07:12 PM

    I have the theme but not 4, 8, 10 or 13

  11. FilePumpkinBigSlick on Mar 30, 2008 07:12 PM

I have the theme, but several are escaping me. For a few, I have an answer, but never heard of it, so not sure if it is correct. Google is no help. Are these famous or just kinda sorta?

  12. FilePancakesArnott (Tanga Admin) on Mar 30, 2008 07:12 PM

The spelling on #5 may trip people up. Since I live in Los Angeles and follow baseball, I had some help this year with this clue :)

  13. FileAcescarver on Mar 30, 2008 07:13 PM

    salt on 4 or 7?

  14. FileEggplantTintin on Mar 30, 2008 07:14 PM

[8] Yup, that was my problum. Thanks for the help.

    Nice puzzle, Big!

  15. FileCheeseburgerQurqirishDragon on Mar 30, 2008 07:14 PM

[12] if you google for the more likely (but wrong) spelling, it will correct you. (that's the only way I got that one correct)

  16. Avatar_profileAppleMrGoat on Mar 30, 2008 07:14 PM

thanks [4] that gets me moving again

  17. FileAcescarver on Mar 30, 2008 07:15 PM

    [9] I believe 10 is a track star

  18. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Mar 30, 2008 07:15 PM

[12] Thank you. I tried checking it with the other spelling and pulled up info. I was thinking Braves not Dodgers

  19. Bunny91Garlicheatherlouwho on Mar 30, 2008 07:14 PM

[12] OMG! Thanks, Arnott! That's what my problem was!

  20. FileDuckienrkii on Mar 30, 2008 07:15 PM

Nice... The Simpson's one messed me up for a bit, but then I realized it wasn't quite the same pattern as the rest.

  21. FileEggplantrdunlap1125 on Mar 30, 2008 07:15 PM

[12] I'm in Atlanta, so I had the same (former) home field advantage there.

  22. FileSailboatyelowflower on Mar 30, 2008 07:15 PM

    [13] google cleveland for 7

  23. FilePumpkinBigSlick on Mar 30, 2008 07:15 PM

[9] Seriously? Great! By the way, for #7, think "I'm your father"

  24. FileGarlicmartinp13 on Mar 30, 2008 07:17 PM

And help for #1? :( I know who that is but it doesn't fit.

Nevermind... I was in the Boonies! Duh

  25. SouthparkPepperTahnan on Mar 30, 2008 07:16 PM

I'd say that the 8- and 9-letter answers (each of which is two words) are your best breaking-in point on the theme.

  26. FilePumpkinBigSlick on Mar 30, 2008 07:16 PM

[21] Yeah, "Shredder" wasn't working for me!

  27. FileSailboatyelowflower on Mar 30, 2008 07:17 PM

    #1 has his own locker

  28. FileDuckieDrEpiGirl on Mar 30, 2008 07:17 PM

    [8] Thanks!

  29. Charo_white_bgBananawillco on Mar 30, 2008 07:18 PM

    This one's a mess.

  30. Avatar_profileAppleMrGoat on Mar 30, 2008 07:18 PM

Salt for #10? Seriously, I'm a child of the 80s.

  31. FileSailboatyelowflower on Mar 30, 2008 07:19 PM

still need 4 8 10 and 13, any help out there?

  32. FilePumpkinBigSlick on Mar 30, 2008 07:19 PM

    Any help on the Pope?

  33. FileAcescarver on Mar 30, 2008 07:20 PM

    [30] It's a character associated with #2

  34. Try_4Sailboatsnork on Mar 30, 2008 07:21 PM

[31] #8 is what they are saying, #13 is an old song title (got it from the second clue only). I still can't get #4 myself.

  35. FilePumpkinBigSlick on Mar 30, 2008 07:28 PM

I don't like the Braves! And there is 2 of 'em?

Edit: and it took me 3 tries to get the spelling right on one of 'em. Doesn't help when Google finds a hit on a wrong spelling. I should have found a more authoritative source.

  36. Almost-sold-out-product2OnionDrewO on Mar 30, 2008 07:22 PM

Could I please have some salt on the Pope?

  37. Ag1Potatojeep on Mar 30, 2008 07:23 PM

Pretty good (except 13), even if it's a tough subject for me.

  38. Cuicocha2Sailboathokie98 on Mar 30, 2008 07:34 PM

stuck on 8, 9, & 13... any salt to guide me?

edit... thanks [34] that got 13 for me

had to stare at 8 a little longer... 9 still eludes me though

  39. Ag1Potatojeep on Mar 30, 2008 07:24 PM

    Which pope?

  40. FilePepperpepperhead on Mar 30, 2008 07:24 PM

    [8] wow thanks

  41. FilePotatoDoomDahDoomDoom on Mar 30, 2008 07:24 PM

    [4] Thanks Arnott!!

  42. Try_4Sailboatsnork on Mar 30, 2008 07:25 PM

[39] Duh, right, that did it for me. Thanks!

  43. AvatarDuckiesteph_frolin on Mar 30, 2008 07:26 PM

#5 is also an artist and author for you non baseball fans, just spelled wrong.
    nice
Just trying to keep up myself...

  44. FileAcescarver on Mar 30, 2008 07:26 PM

  45. FilePumpkinBigSlick on Mar 30, 2008 07:26 PM

[39] Doh! How in the world could I miss *that* one?!?

  46. FilePeppercyncat on Mar 30, 2008 07:26 PM

    Good puzzle, Big.

  47. Almost-sold-out-product2OnionDrewO on Mar 30, 2008 07:27 PM

[39] Thanks! That's what I get for not going to church today even if I'm not Catholic.

  48. Avatar_profileAppleMrGoat on Mar 30, 2008 07:29 PM

Thanks All. Tough Crypto for me tonight.

  49. FilePeppercyncat on Mar 30, 2008 07:33 PM

Still laughing at clue #13! :)

  50. FilePepperpepperhead on Mar 30, 2008 07:34 PM

  51. FilePepperpepperhead on Mar 30, 2008 07:35 PM

  52. Avatar_profileGrapesshroohead on Mar 30, 2008 07:36 PM

    Any salt on 12?

  53. Cuicocha2Sailboathokie98 on Mar 30, 2008 07:37 PM

    [52] 12 is a musician

  54. Cuicocha2Sailboathokie98 on Mar 30, 2008 07:41 PM

squeaked in at 94... 9 just had me stumped... was thinking all around it rather than go with the obvious.

  55. FileEggGamesX4 on Mar 30, 2008 07:41 PM

I need serious salt on 7

  56. FileSailboatyelowflower on Mar 30, 2008 07:43 PM

[49] loved that one too, once I figured it out thanks to [34] - thank you [50] for your invaluable help as well ;o)

  57. FilePepperpepperhead on Mar 30, 2008 07:47 PM

num 7 a song that went
    Duke Duke Duke
    Duke of ........
    Duke Duke
    Duke of .........

  58. FileDuckiedavey3 on Mar 30, 2008 07:48 PM

Thought I had the theme from those last two across clues (didn't help that I'm also watching the Braves play their season opener on ESPN while trying to solve the puzzle), but finally realized that this goes beyond the Braves.

  59. FilePepperpepperhead on Mar 30, 2008 07:48 PM
  60. FileEggGamesX4 on Mar 30, 2008 07:48 PM

    ty 57

  61. FileEggGamesX4 on Mar 30, 2008 07:51 PM

    sigh still have something wrong

  62. FileEggGamesX4 on Mar 30, 2008 07:53 PM

Can I send someone my answers so they can tell me where I am messing up?

  63. FileSailboatCalloravion on Mar 30, 2008 07:54 PM

That was a fun one! Got to #12 before I picked up the theme.

  64. FileEggGamesX4 on Mar 30, 2008 07:58 PM

Ok, kicking myself in the butt.....would have had it half hour ago except for typing "Pope......" in the blank and not catching it.

  65. FileApplewmshub on Mar 30, 2008 08:16 PM

Got 'em all, even the crazy spelling on #5...and no luck.

Edit: Ah, had the woman with the torch wrong. There is a famous person spelled the way I spelled it, but it seems the puzzle wants some other person with a different spelling of that name.

  66. Avatar1_edited-2Sailboataurnivi on Mar 30, 2008 08:16 PM

kicking myself also. Had everything except for kids which I thought was prays...duh.

  67. FileTomatotlmitch7 on Mar 30, 2008 08:43 PM

[66] I had the same thing, then it clicked.
[27]'s comment only helps if you watch sponge bob, I said it out loud and my 12 year old said the answer out loud, even while she was playing her DS.

  68. Current.deal.avOnionmonocle on Mar 30, 2008 08:53 PM

nice. took me reading some comments to figure out the theme... then it was a matter of filling in the blanks on a lot of them. #13 tripped me for a long time. good one.

  69. Avatar_profileSailboatGelatinousGoo on Mar 30, 2008 09:46 PM

I like this kind where the theme is an a-ha moment halfway through the puzzle rather than up front. Nice job, Big!

  70. 39350_1576612535344_1236536558_31637113_6109752_nPotatojami1kenob on Mar 31, 2008 06:02 AM

7 has me completely stumped... I know the duke of ... part. It's where the SI issue comes in! :(

  71. 39350_1576612535344_1236536558_31637113_6109752_nPotatojami1kenob on Mar 31, 2008 06:58 AM

I was totally lost and then it just hit me...thanks for all of the great salt guys!

  72. FileOnionmetafor on Mar 31, 2008 12:56 PM

got the theme...thought I got all the answers...but it won't take. Can I tanga someone on spelling please?

  73. FileGrapesBig on Mar 31, 2008 01:00 PM

This is my first puzzle. Thanks for the positive reviews! I apologize for the sloppy photo-shopping in some, I'm still learning this. My next one should be better!

  74. FileEggentropy on Mar 31, 2008 02:11 PM

Tried really hard to have #4 really be former Dallas Maverick player (and current assistant coach): Popeye.

  75. FileGrapesBig on Mar 31, 2008 02:44 PM

[74] Nice! That would have worked

  76. FileEggj15bell on Dec 13, 2008 12:16 PM

    pic #8 is cute.

  77. FileCarrotengles on Apr 20, 2012 09:43 PM

The Carey one is spelled with a 'U' in this puzzle.
