Who's the guy in clue #25?

  2. TangaPotatoTopherMarsh on Apr 03, 2008 08:13 AM

do 2 of them have the same answer??

  3. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Apr 03, 2008 08:15 AM

I'm just missing the "plant" - and all different answers so far.

edit: NM - the post then solve syndrome just hit.

  4. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Apr 03, 2008 08:18 AM

[2] Wondering the same thing myself. A couple of these don't really make sense.

  5. TangaPotatoTopherMarsh on Apr 03, 2008 08:20 AM

    [4] yea they really don't... I need 25 and maybe 9 or 5??

  6. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Apr 03, 2008 08:30 AM

[5] For #5 google the tv show and take the character's nickname. For #9 go with the generic term for all paper money. For #25 he hosts an NBC news magazine.

  7. FileCheeseburgerQurqirishDragon on Apr 03, 2008 08:46 AM

They all have different answers, but I needed to consult a list of "theme"-words to get a few.

    I think #25 might be Oliver, but I am only going on comparing google-images hits to what I know the answer is. {edit: if the above post is right, then I am wrong about the image}

    #5 needs the character

#9 needs a generic (but not TOO generic) term for the image.

  8. Bunny91Garlicheatherlouwho on Apr 03, 2008 08:45 AM

    25 is Mr. Phillips, formally.

  9. FileCheeseburgerHrothgar24 on Apr 03, 2008 09:46 AM

What is that thing in #4?

  10. TangaPotatoTopherMarsh on Apr 03, 2008 10:12 AM

alright all but the damn plant fern looking thing

  11. FileCheeseburgerHrothgar24 on Apr 03, 2008 10:19 AM

[10] it's one of the common terms for something you smoke. Think of those terms in relation to the theme and one should jump out. Any hint for #4?

  12. FileEggRPardoe on Apr 03, 2008 10:21 AM

    [10] You mean #12?

Guess you are just to straight-laced and law abiding to recognize it. (Or perhaps have never been to a Grateful Dead concert....)

    [11] For #4
It's a bad clue....but think of a whole bunch of those characters and then perhaps a generic name. Or perhaps, think of a donation to the American Red Cross, especially after a disaster.

  13. FileCheeseburgerHrothgar24 on Apr 03, 2008 10:26 AM

[12] Thanks. that makes sense. But I must have some other wrong because it isn't all accepting.

  14. FileSailboatRunAmuck on Apr 03, 2008 10:55 AM

You are a freaking genius!! You solved this puzzle.
You solved this puzzle in 0 seconds and were the 18th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 5 points for solving this.
That was hard - hadnt heard of half of them.

  15. TangaPotatoTopherMarsh on Apr 03, 2008 12:15 PM

[12] I thought it was that but with the letters I have nothing seems to fit in there...

EDIT: got it... I think more about kentucky though..

  16. FileTomatobcgrote on Apr 03, 2008 04:44 PM

I recognize several clues, but without a theme.... Colors, or emotions?

  17. FileTomatobcgrote on Apr 03, 2008 05:13 PM

Aha! I could have been called #8 in a different time.

  18. FileSailboatyelowflower on Apr 03, 2008 06:13 PM

this one is floating so far above my brain it hurts - can not get the theme at all....

  19. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Apr 04, 2008 10:10 AM

A thesaurus can sometimes be helpful in discerning the theme:

  20. FileGarlicmartinp13 on Apr 06, 2008 04:10 PM

I'm stuck at 'not accepting' too. :(

  21. Avatar_profileRocketducko on Apr 08, 2008 12:40 PM

Would someone mind explaining to me how this is supposed to work? I have only been able to solve one of these puzzles. I would have thought that a dollar bill with a green background would be a "greenback" but it looks like I have the wrong idea here.

  22. FileSailboatyelowflower on Apr 08, 2008 01:13 PM

I've come back to this one about 20 times and still can't get a handle on it....

  23. TangausagiAppleshugyosha on Apr 11, 2008 12:42 PM

    wow, this was hard.

[21] [22] the theme is in the title: what color are you when sad?

All the answers start that way. Many are obscure. Plus there are enough possibilities that you can fill the grid with a viable answer and it not work.

  24. Copy_of_lucky__chance__chelsieAppleHellRzr on Apr 18, 2008 09:09 PM

    FINALLY !!!!

  25. Denver_cheerPeachBRONCOGAL21 on Apr 18, 2008 09:09 PM

    This puzzle sucked...

  26. FilePancakesArnott (Tanga Admin) on May 14, 2008 12:04 AM

    [25] Hey now...

No it didn't. There were some nice clues in there, and a solid, dependable idea. Just WAY too many of 'em, that's all - especially since some of them were quite obscure (and therefore, in my opinion, not necessary).

T'was overload that killed the beast.

  27. Aug080195Eggplantgusssr on Apr 01, 2010 10:58 PM

    hey, 108th!

  28. Bp3Eggendel3 on Sep 14, 2010 04:24 PM

    114th...too many clues...

  29. FractalTomatodduensing on Dec 03, 2010 08:23 AM

[26] yes, but in addition to TOO MANY clues, many of the answers crossed in only one place....and that place was the common four letter word which they all share. This gives NO HELP at all to the solver...especially when there are alternate valid answers.

Bleech! Poor, poor puzzle creation! It doesn't suck but comes VERY close.

For the record, I only missed one and had to have help with it to finish. The picture is not of a peach or apricot with a STEM, but it's human skin and has a 4 letter parasite living on it. (The full answer being the breed of a hound dog.)
