No experience here. I barely understand your message. HOWEVER, I don't understand the picathon concept. Guess which picture the others will pick? It was fun once. I wouldn't play often.
Sorry - can't help - would only hurt!
As a javascript guy, that seems like a drastic solution.
Wish I had the experience you are looking for...
Hopefully someone will step up!
Sorry, can't help you with that. I can say however that I used to have problems with the hypercross images not loading. Since you changed them I have had no problems with them loading. Anyway you could use that type of pop-up system?
Why not build it in Java? I have friends who do web development in java. I also have friends so have done some ActionScript work in Flash but it's not their main language. Let me know if you want their contact information.
As you're building this, please don't lose sight of the fact that many of your users are on dialup still and have no access to high speed internet due to their location. I tried to load the picathon game and gave up after waiting nearly 1/2 hr. All your puzzle load slowly for dialup users (because the pics are too big???) as it is......
IE is a big pain when it comes to web development (even though they pioneered the XMLRequest call that is the foundation for AJAX). Are all versions of IE having problems?
It seems to work in IE 7 now! Not sure if 6 is happy yet.
Yes, it does work in IE7 now (except for one tiny problem that I mentioned earlier -- new messages initially appear far off to the left, but eventually move into the message box).
It hasen't worked for me yet, I have ie7.
IE6 loaded and played without incident! Cool! Nice job - Nice game!
is this still a problem? I write AS. Didn't see the message until this morning, sorry. Oh, and I don't know ^$ about jruby. I did write a lot of java, though in another job, but AS is my thing now. Let me know if I can help.
If you're using Flex, be sure to join the flexcoders mailing list (hosted on yahoogroups). There are thousands of developers on there that can help.
I can do some Flex programming, but can you add a pointer to the Picathon game so I can take a look at what you're trying to accomplish?

(also working for me in IE 6 now)
I know how to turn my laptop on!!!!! Does that help? :) and I also now know that you have the coolest name in the world... Jeremy.... ;)
well, I've got java and jruby experience, but I'm not as familiar with actionscript or flex. If you need the help, drop me a gram and we'll see what we can see
I have experience with Java, Flex, Flash, Actionscript, CSS and Ruby (but not JRuby).
I may be late in responding, but if I can be of assistance, let me know
If you can wait a few years ill know what your talking about..Im going to college to learn that stuff!
I have experience in all of the above, but absolutely no time, due to time constraints at work with current projects...maybe next time...altho, I prefer working with GUI's, never been into web development...don't know why...probably cuz I care more about functionality than making it pretty...and in web development, it needs to be pretty too...:)
you should just run a script to search the browser they are using and send them to Firefox lol. I may can help i have my degree in computer information systems

As many of you know, we are having a heck of a time trying to get the new Picathon game working with Internet Explorer. The solution we have come up with is to build the front end of the game in Flash so that it is compatible across all browsers.
We are looking for a person with experience with actionscript/flex/java and possibly experience with jruby. If you do, please contact me at jeremy at tanga dot com and we can see if we can work something out! We’d love to have a front end interface that works with all browsers so we can push this out for all of our users to enjoy…
