It'll come back soon. Tanga just moved to a new hosting environment and I'm waiting for extra servers to put the Picathon on.

I hardly miss it at all. I really only remember when I see the empty white space where it used to be on the home page.
I miss the banter when playing. Then again mostly it was just me commenting!!

I'm a newbie... I'd like to even just find out what this "Picathon" thing is...
From what I've read, I've come to the conclusion that:
1. It's a game involving pictures
2. You and others pick a picture
3. A point is awarded for picking the most picked picture (or is it the least picked - I was reading a thread about changing it)
:) So I like the other Tanga distractions, I'd like to try out this whole "Picathon" thing, too. Yeah.
[23] Pretty close.
If you pick the wrong (least picked) picture, you get a strike. Three strikes, you're out. The last two people remaining get points. Points were based on how many people started that particular round.
If you ever get to play, just remember that kitteh trumps all! Then chicks, then dogs, then water, etc. (I think that's how it went). NEVER pick the old people!
ALWAYS PICK CATS!!! (unless you want a strike :-))
children don't buy into it! first they'll be telling you a little cigerette doesn't hurt anything, then its a joint, then heroin, then crack, next thing you know you'll be picking cats on the picathon!

I have a non-cat related question (not that we can't go back to cats after this) - were there any 'general' times when more than 3 people were hanging out at the picathon? I enjoyed it more when there were several people playing, but never seemed to show up when anyone was around. Was it more busy after the the nightly puzzles were solved? It would be interesting if people showed up at a set time -like the puzzles, for a big picathon...
OK, back to cats.
I never thought I'd miss all those pictures of kites, but I'm starting to!

[33] you can still upload photos for the picathon...though I would recommend uploading non-cat photos.

Don't quote me, because I'm not exactly sure what's going to happen with the Picathon. But if it does come back, I see it listed as October on the Tanga technical to-do list. I think it involves servers and stuff.
As you can tell, I'm not a programmer guy :)
That said, refurdson came up with a pretty cool idea for a completely different game that kinda uses the Picathon engine.
Maybe we'll get both.
But prolly not until Fall (or Winter).

Ahhh - ummmm well....
Picathon is a "contest" played by three or more people (the more the merrier). Two photos are presented to the players, and the goal is to pick the photo that you believe will have most votes. If you pick the wrong picture you get a strike. Three strikes and you're out. The last two contestants standing win and get ...... you guessed it! Tanga Points
(fanfare in background)...
On the same screen as the pictures is a running commentary by the contestants.... That was the best part of the whole thing.
