If you ever have problems with your order, we'll do everything we can to make it right.
As a small company (8 of us total), we aim to treat you like family. We know we’re in business because of you.
In theory, you should be able to post comments and go to different pages without causing the page to refresh.
Post here if you see any bugs.
No page refresh required!
This is not working properly. I tried to comment on a question. I typed:
[1] They probably meant t go on vacation or drive.
But this is what shows up after posting:
[1] They probably meant t go on vacation or drive.
If I click edit it shows my original text.
Ugh, it did it again. I think it happens if you hit enter to type on the next line?
A few hours ago, not sure it was before the change or not, it wouldn't let me hit return to go to the next line. The cursor would just stay in the same spot.
Okay, I went back to my original comment and brought the second line up to the first line and it still messed up. Then I realized it was using the less than sign that was causing the problem. Deleted that and it worked fine. So I guess some symbols are not working with the new system.
I have no idea what this entire discussion is about!
[7] Sorry for all my nonsense, lol. The original post is about the new feature where when you post a comment instead of the whole page refreshing, your comment is just added.
I guess we can no longer comment on items that are for sale? "Talk it up" is missing. I liked reading the comments, especially about the games.
[9] What he said.
Did Tanga decide to get rid of the "talk it up" link or is it coming back? Too much negative info hurt sales?
[9][10] Good question.
Also, when do we get the "Update Comments" button back? It's good to know that if I comment on a hypercross, my entered answers won't vanish anymore, but that's only half the problem. I also need a way to update the comments without me commenting so I can see if anyone has left salt. With the button missing, the only way to do that is to refresh the page.
[11] The 'Refresh Comments' link was added yesterday.
[11] My Nurse read that to me yesterday (that the refresh comments was back). If you can't keep up I can have her read to you too. No need to thank me.
[12] Ahh... ok - it's moved to the top and is a little link instead of a button. I might have never noticed it if you hadn't said something. Thank you!!
FWIW, it'd be nicer if it were at the bottom of the comments (or perhaps in both places). If I'm looking for new comments on a long thread, the current configuration makes me scroll up and hit the link then scroll back down to look, lather, rinse, repeat ad nauseum.
[13] I don't read all the blogs - if the refresh comments link being present was mentioned somewhere, I missed it. This thread merely said the page wouldn't refresh when you posted a comment, not that we had a refresh comments link again.
The View Your Published and Upcoming One Word Wonders and Cryptopixes link on my Account page is currently not working. It now leads to a "Something unexpected happened" page.
A problem with the "Refresh Comments" link: If you are on a thread that has multiple pages and you hit the "Refresh Comments" link, it takes you back to the first page of comments. Which isn't very useful since I was obviously interested in seeing the latest comments, not the oldest ones.
Oh, and I had the same problem as [15] just now.
[16] Hm, I don't see that.
I went here: http://www.tanga.com/forum/blogs/movie-quote-discussion?page=21, clicked refresh, and stayed on the same page.
If you still have the problem, what browser and OS are you using?
[17] Hm, I don't see it anymore either. I was using Chrome under Windows Vista and was on page 30 of a thread and hit "refresh comments" and it went to page 1. *shrug* Oh, well.
Any hope of getting the link at the bottom of the thread?
[15] It's fixed! Thanks!
[19] In a related vein, "View Your Published and Upcoming One Word Wonders and Cryptopixes" only shows Upcoming for me. Maybe because I have no "Upcoming" at the moment?
[20] The thought, "well, not quite..." also ran through my head when reading [19]. Philana said "fixed" because that other aspect of the link hasn't worked in ages (I don't ever recall it working -- did it ever work?).
A realistic fix would be to change the text from "View Your Published and Upcoming One Word Wonders and Cryptopixes" to "View Your Upcoming One Word Wonders and Cryptopixes".
[21] True, that link shows only upcoming puzzles. But it shows upcoming Hypercrosses in addition to One Word Wonders and Cryptopixes. So the name of that link is doubly wrong.
[17] - [16] appears to be an intermittent problem. I had a Chrome tab open to the 30th page of the mod blog from yesterday and hit "Refresh Comments" today and it took me back to the 1st page. I then went back to the 30th, hit refresh again and it didn't do it. I tried reloading the page and couldn't get it to go back to page 1. But I know it's happened to me at least twice now.
Oh, and something's wrong with Arnott's newest discussion forum regarding tonight's Words in the Weeds. If you try to click on it, it counts you as a view but you aren't actually taken to the thread to read it.
[24] He probably set it up so that it can't be opened until 7 p.m.
TangaJoe, please, please, please put the 'Refresh Comments' link at the bottom! Once I've solved a puzzle, I like to refresh comments to see what people are saying and/or offer salt. When the link is at the bottom, I can keep my position on the page and just hit the link. The way it is now, I have to scroll up to click it, then scroll back down to see the comments. Since the bottom is where the new comments will appear (and thus we'll need to be down there in order to read them), it only makes sense for the link to be there...
[25] I bet you are right. Seems like he's tried delayed posts before and they don't seem to work the way he wants them to (i.e. I think he intends them to not even be visible until 7pm).
I'll second sonjahi's suggestion on the "Refresh Comments" link, but I'll take it a little further and suggest that it doesn't have to be either/or; there could be a link at the top and the bottom.
[27] Yeah, back in [14] I indicated that both would work for me too. I didn't see the need to keep restating that part of the request. But I probably will keep restating my request to have a link at the bottom until it appears there or TangaJoe tells me to shut up. :)
[28] It's there now.
[28] He didn't even tell you to shut up either, darn!! Just joking sonjahi!
[30] Shut up
[31] No wonder you have so many problems. You can't even tell [28] from [30].
[32] Hmmm, no wonder!!
[31] Why are you telling me to shut up?
[33] Because you're the loud one? (with all the !!s)
[34] OH REALLY???!!!!
LOL...
Thanks, TangaJoe.
My complaint in [16]&[23] continues to be a problem in the mod blog though. It happens in both Chrome and IE7 and doesn't appear to only happen when the page has been dormant. I had commented on the blog and then come back a few minutes later, noticed the "Refresh Comments" at the bottom (again, thank you very much), hit it, and was taken back to page 1. Tried again a few minutes later and it didn't happen. It also happens fairly consistently when I refresh the page.
Since the Movie Discussion thread is about the only active thread with multiple pages that everyone has access to, I'm going to guess that no one else is having trouble simply because no one else is regularly trying to refresh a thread with so many pages. If they participate in that thread, they get in, look, get out, get back in. They don't sit there with a tab open to it like I do on the mod blog.
[9][10] I, too, really, really, really miss the "talk it up" feature on the products. I think I would have thoroughly enjoyed the comments that would have appeared on this product:
http://www.tanga.com/products/boyfriendhusband-pillow
But, yeah, I guess I can see why Tanga wouldn't appreciate the comments that would have undoubtedly appeared there. *grin*
[37] There would have been some major comments on that one. We could start our own thread under General Discussion then.
TangaJoe you seemed to gloss over [9][10] when they mentioned that the "talk it up" link for commenting has been removed. WHY? You can still comment by adding /comments to the end of the location line but without a link and a tally of all the comments then people might not check. Many games I have purchased I would not have done so without feedback from other users. Without that feedback their is little chance of a purchase. I am sure others feel the same way. PLEASE respond.
[39] is right particularly with regards to the games. I would also like to hear why it's gone.
On another point, it'd be nice if clicking the 'Refresh Comments' link didn't delete whatever you've typed in this box. Sometimes I want to Refresh Comments before I post mine to make sure mine's still relevant. Or if I hit the 'Post Reply' button and my comment doesn't look like it posted, I want to 'Refresh Comments' to make sure it's not there before I try again. Right now, if I click 'Refresh Comments' while I have text in this box, the text is gone (at least under IE7).
Is anyone at Tanga monitoring this thread?
A couple of recent situations where the "talk it up" link was sorely missed by me.
1) This weekend, you were selling the adult-sized sock monkey hats. I have one (purchased from Tanga, although I suspect it's not adult-sized) that I wear all the time. I get LOTS of compliments on it. It's quirky and fun and a big hit. But I couldn't share that with potential buyers.
2) Right now, there's a Tom Brady T-shirt for sale. Perhaps I live in a cave (I don't watch any TV), but I don't "get" the reference. It sure would be nice to be able to ask in the "talk it up" what it means, instead of indirectly asking here while commenting on a completely unrelated thread.
[41] You wear a sock monkey hat all the time? Oh, I'd love to see that... :)
Yeah the Tom Brady T-Shirt... So planking apparantly is something of a game folks have started playing. I found a definition:
"Planking is an activity consisting of lying face down in an unusual or incongruous location. Both hands must touch the sides of the body and having a photograph of the participant taken and posted on the Internet is an integral part of the game. Players compete to find the most unusual and original location in which to play. The term planking refers to mimicking a wooden plank. Rigidity of the body must be maintained to constitute good planking."
So I guess some football players started planking in celebration of touchdowns or whatever (lying facedown in the end zone).
There was another tanga shirt awhile back that was the Tebow version "Tebowing - because planking is stupid" which references Tim Tebow's habit of taking a knee on the sidelines to pray.
So this newest incarnation is making fun of Tom Brady by showing what could be a likely reaction to losing the Super Bowl and naming it "Bradying." It might have been more amusing if Tom had not, you know, led the Patriots to victory in the Super Bowl 3 times already...
[42] I don't recall football players planking as celebration. But I know that there were other players who joined Tebow in a 'public' prayer before and after games who would strike that kneeling pose (Tebowing). Although I could be wrong I think the shirt is more a reflection of the general public adopting 'Tebowing' as a fad, which came after the planking fad. I think you hit the rest of it on the head.
[41] Not surprised you didn't get it, there are layers of subtlety in that design.
[42][43] Well, I "got" the Tebowing T-shirt from a little while back. I was just wondering what "thing" it was that Tom Brady had done that warranted mimicry/mockery.
[42] Ok, to clarify, I wear a sock monkey hat when a stocking cap is warranted. So I'm not wearing it right now while sitting at my desk at work. But I do wear it to and from work most days. It's a long walk from the parking lot to my building and my ears get cold. And that hat is just more fun than most of my others and it's warmer (it's got an extra lining and is snug - being, I suspect, a kid's size). I also carry my lunch in a bag with Winnie the Pooh on the front. You might as well have fun with life - too many adults are way too serious!
[43] I guess some college football players have done it. There were some pictures I found when searching info on "planking"
[44] I'd still love to see it! (not trying to make fun of you in particular, I just find it amusing to imagine you wearing it!)
As far as Tom Brady goes, I don't know if there was anything he did in the game or afterwards that warranted the "Bradying" joke. I didn't watch the Super Bowl, so it could be that there's more to it.
[45] FWIW, "Bradying" doesn't work as a word nearly as well as "Tebowing" does.
[44] "You might as well have fun with life - too many adults are way too serious!"
I read that over and over and thought about it seriously. You are correct! I'm going to stop being so serious and start to have fun with my life. I might even try "joking" around a little bit, and trying just a tiny bit of sarcasm. Thank you for the idea. I can't wait to lighten up and get started in my newest endeavor.
