You guys ROCK! Tangathons will be ultra cool once you get this in place :-)
Previously it was mentioned that only items shipping from the tanga warehouse would be eligible. Is this still the case? If so, do you all know historically what percentage of items sold ship from the tanga warehouse?

Sounds like a plan-e.g. the 1 week would get us through a TangaThon plus a buffer on either side (e.g. if we bought early, we could hold off and see if a Tangathon erupts or if there is a Tangathon, wait and see if any other goodies come along post-haste).
This will definitely put me over the edge on some items-e.g instead of paying a bunch of $6 charges, I'd be more than happy to buy more items (and multiples of the same item) and pay a one-time say $8-12 charge for the combo shipping.

There should be another option: Hold the items forever until I say so. Of course, the user has to acknowledge it first.
This way we can hoard as many games as we like.
The shipping should be something based upon ranges. So for example if person buys 3 different games that fit in a box send it for 7$ If they buy 10 items that take 2 boxes 10$... basically hit us for handling once and shipping about accurate....
Letâs be honest, for 7 dollars of shipping you can send a lot of stuff.
Perhaps you can give each item some items a +1$ or a -1$ then do the shipping by item count.
You might want to count 3 of the same item as +1 for example... Die Macher as +1 and Quelf as -1
But if someone buys enough Tanga items that you loose money on shipping and they bought 10 itemsâ¦. You need to say thank you and take the wack and ask for another.

I totally agree with [5]; a week is perfect for tangathons and buffers. Sounds like a very fair deal. Thanks!!! (Although I'm sure you guys will be reaping more of the benefits than we will be!)
Will there be a way to mark an order for Combined Shipping if we forgot (or didn't notice) the checkbox when purchasing?
[10] Hrothgar: Given that you can't even currently change quantities once an order has been placed, I wouldn't get my hopes up.
Of course, it's worth stressing that this kind of order modification (within a reasonable amount of time, say an hour) would be a very worthwhile feature to implement.
This sounds like a solid plan and it would make Tanga even more financially fun to use.

Sounds like a winner, I agree with davido that I may in fact buy more stuff with combined shipping, Its that added value that will force me to hit that buy button
I'll try hard to get it in place for the new Tangathon.

what's the status of the combined shipping effort?

But if I could just throw this idea out there, could you PLEASE use USPS as your main carrier! From what I know they are quite cheap these days. *If you did*, I could then send packages directly to my box number - and consequently buy a lot more stuff for me and my brother. (I don't have a street address) Right now I have to send the stuff to a friend of mine, which is very inconvenient, and hence we don't buy NEAR as much stuff as we would...
That would be the #1 improvement on this site, and I would thank-you for it tremendously! :D
Is this actually going to happen? I would buy a lot more if I could combine shipping..

Tanga is about to start work on a long-awaited Combined Shipping Program.
Synopsis:
Certain products will be eligible for combined shipping. When purchasing these products, you’ll see a Combined Shipping checkbox on the checkout page. If the Combined Shipping checkbox is selected, we won’t ship the product to you immediately. Instead, we’ll hold on to it for up to a week. Any other product that you purchase in the week will be (if possible) put into the same box. Then you’ll only have to pay shipping for one box, and not two.
You’ll be able to view a page that shows your past orders that have been selected for Combined Shipping. When you are ready, you can click ‘Ship these to me!’ and we’ll ship all the items to you. So you’ll pay shipping for all those products at once, instead of having to pay shipping for each individual product. If a week goes by and you haven’t elected to ship all the Combined Shipping products, we will automatically ship them to you.
Sound good? As usual, you’ll only be charged when the products actually ship.
