For each Words in the Weeds puzzle you solve from January 25-February 8, you’ll receive one entry to win one of these prizes!
HOW TO ENTER
Easy! Just play Words in the Weeds from January 25 – February 8! We’ll keep track of each puzzle that you solve and on February 9, we’ll randomly draw some winners.
The more you play, the more entries you’ll get. The more entries you get…well, you see where this is going.
Words in the Weeds is in “Beta”
Ahh…the ever-popular “beta testing” period. Yes, that means that we’re putting it out there and hoping you’ll love it, and yes, there’s a possibility that something might not work perfectly just yet.
Here’s what beta means for Words in the Weeds:
- Users can’t submit content just yet. But that’s coming soon. Yes, we’re saying that eventually you will be able to create Words in the Weeds!
- It won’t show up on our main Daily Fun page just yet, but give it a week or so. For now, get your nightly fix right here. We’ll post a link to the new puzzle in our comments below. It will be live at 7pm (Pacific) each day
- The game will not show up in the archives, yet.
- There might be bugs (Nooooooo!!!!). Let us know about any bugs you find (you can put them in the comments here if you want) and we might even name those bugs after you.
- Words in the Weeds is perfectly playable on your phones (well, it works on Renfurdson’s iPhone, anyway). We’d love feedback from those of you who also use your phones to play on Tanga.
- For those of you for whom this is important must-know information: completing a game of Words in the Weeds will also reward you with 5 Tanga Points. We say “also” because the fun and excitement you will no doubt feel from successfully finishing a game is likely reward enough, yes? Also, there will be no first-100-solvers bonus points, but this will count toward Top 20/100 solves.

Just played the new game on my smartphone running Windows 7.5 and it worked fine. Great game as well! I enjoyed it a lot.
RoundUp as a prize? You're giving away poison as a prize?? Clearly Tanga has NO idea how *dangerous* this stuff is to our environment and to any person, animal, or plant it comes in contact with..

Yes, Not only do I agree heartily with Esbe, I would suggest you replace it with DVDs of the show "Weeds" instead.
Also... I tried to find the game through the direct link and it does not appear to be there - did it get taken down?

Where can I find rules how to play Words in the Weeds? I've looked high and low, but I can't find anything. Help!

[5] Heh, so no poison, but drugs are okay :) I was actually gonna suggest that DVD, but the problem is: which season? And there's no complete box set, since the show isn't finished yet. That said...
[4] instead of giving us links to "badness" how about some suggestions of safer weed killers. Is Eco-Smart okay? BurnOut?
Uh..firstly...those links are to "information". Information that should be required reading for anyone who wants to use RoundUp or offer it as a "prize".
Secondly...if I had absolutely no choice but to purchase an herbicide, I would purchase Avenger Organic Weed Killer. But that would be AFTER I tried vinegar and water.

[10] Always the first season =) Same is true for any show if you don't have the full series available. But for alternate suggestions, I would recommend a set of gloves and a weed-pulling tool. We've sat on our duffs long enough playing games - time to go out into the garden and get dirty!

I liked the new game, but can I make a suggestion? Is it possible to show all the possible letters for each word position at once, instead of one-at-a-time? Last night, I had to write them all down using Notepad, then figure the answer out from there.
[16] I think that's the idea - to only get a glimpse of the letters...hidden in the weeds.
If all the letters were given in one single view, wouldn't that just be a letter-based OWW?
Still can't find anything ANYWHERE that explains how to play. Not very user-friendly.

The links take me to where the puzzle is supposed to be, but the puzzle doesn't load. Had to pull it up on my phone for it to work. Is there something I need to download to assure the letters show up?
Still the same issue for me this evening. Puzzle doesn't load on my computer. But, I can access it from my phone. Hmmmmmm.
I don't know how to play the game.
I can't get to Monday's Words in the Weeds game and I don't have a smartphone. When I click the link it goes to all of the other puzzle games but no access to Words in the Weeds. Any suggestions? I would like to play Mondays game, I can access all of the games except today - Monday.

how about all 7 at once, no feedback till 100% of the letters/words are correct? this is fun but no sense of pulling something out of nothing otherwise. The letters are always right there, so a reiterative self-reference or two would at least make me do some original thinking. (originally posted in 20120209's WITW comments)
Also (for real)-- roundup is VERY not cool. as a former Iowa farmer and someone who likes safety, it's BAD. very bad. I'm honestly shocked that anyone would offer it as a prize, other than maybe a lawn-care service (which for the record, my father in law owns/runs). Poor judgement, TANGA.
....and while I'm ranting, bring back the links to the product comments, i don't see the point of leaving them available if we have to manually add "/comments" to each URL. Either link or just can 'em entirely!!!
