What would you want to see in a Tanga iPhone app?
We have been mulling around the idea of creating an iPhone app on Tanga and we wanted your opinion about what you would want to see for the functionality of the app. In a perfect Tanga iPhone app world, what would you want?

A app for the Driod!! Not everyone is on the apple crack pipe
I would want an iPhone please.
Speed! Say what you want about 3G but it's still slow and the Tanga web site isn't iPhone friendly. The puzzles on the iPhone can be a bear, something to stream line that would be great too. Aside from that keep up the good work!
An app that works cross platform, for those of us using BlackBerry as well. Maybe instead of an app, though, how about a mobile site that could be used by any mobile phone?
Simplicity
The worse thing you could do is make it complex trying to jam to much junk into the app. Blackberry and droid don't own enough market share to make it slightly interesting let along provide an acceptable ROI.Sorry guys.
Download WootWatch from the app store. The app is simplistic and delivers the right amount of information. If you follow this format / UI design, you will have a winner on your hands.
Standard disclaimer - I have no affiliation with WootWatch other than being a satisfied user of the app.
screw droid. Make it a blackberry app. That is what I want for christmas!!
I'd be happy to get reception enough to USE an iPhone (even though I don't own one or anything even remotely like it) and/or any app for an iPhone.
More board games for sale!
Free.
Sersiously, the best app would be as simple as the actual site is. A front page with the current 5-6 deals and an option to be notified when new deals are posted. Personally, I could care less about the puzzles and junk, but I know some people are into that.
Nothing. It won't work on my Droid. *Hint Hint*
I would like to see an app where Tanga customer support actually responds to e-mail requests for support.
please include the ability to enter bottom feeder contests
keep it simple, deal of the day, bottom feeder, maybe a puzzle. for everything else can use a regular computer. i also agree with # 5 comment.. and i'm not affiliated with woot either, i just like their user friendly app.
by the way... theres nothing like the 1st hit of that apple crack pipe when you 1st turn it on in the morning, fffffffftttt,, OH YEAH whhoooosh.
I'd rather see a mobile friendly website, that I could access from my phone's web browser. I've ordered from Tanga via the phone, but a streamlined mobile website would be easier. Bottom Feeder would be easy to do on a phone, for the other puzzles, I'd use a computer.
Perhaps, the user of the mobile web site could have something like Amazon's one click ordering.
Definitely check out the WootOn app. That thing is super-fast and to the point: photos and descriptions of each item for sale on its various subsites, a button that takes you straight to the ordering page, and options for monitoring woot-offs, and that's pretty much it. As a result I findi it's often quicker than loading the Woot site on my computer.
For a Tanga app, I'd want a photo and description of the thing for sale, a link to the "buy it now" button, the bottom feeder, and maybe a puzzle or two. Ideally I wouldn't have to leave the app to buy things or enter puzzles, but that might be too ambitious right now, so directing me to a mobile-friendly site, at least for the ordering side of things, would be a good second choice, if possible.
Don't leave out the few of use who use Symbian. =) Actually since I'm more into the puzzles than the merchandise here, I'll generally wait until I'm at my desktop anyway..
So, on second thought, don't worry (too much) about this Symbian user.
+1 for the droid... but I think that a mobile webpage will be better way to spend your time
I agree with everyone who mentioned apps for phones other than just iPhone
I think the puzzles would be a really cool thing to have in an app form. I get notifications of the deals via RSS, so while it would be also reasonably sweet to have a decent interface for purchasing items (see Amazon's app for how amazingly cool that is), something that would really set it apart is the puzzles.
I mean, that's really the whole deal with iPhone games right? You've got a few minutes to kill on a train, or on lunch, or at the in-laws, and you've only got your iPhone. I'm not a puzzle/word-game connoisseur, but in my world Tanga's puzzles are pretty unique. Being able to access them anywhere on my phone? Awesome. Unless it's a Google-fest puzzle, most of the action takes place in your head, figuring out what the heck is going on. So it should be (relatively) simple to make it into a killer iPhone app.
Before you go to an app, maybe you could reach a lot more peeps all at once with a page that fits the small format. It'd work for everyone's phones. Then go for the iBlackRoid app.
[1] yeah but most of us are. Yes please!
The ability to play Carcassonne
Pre App too! - You should be able to see the different deals, but that's a secondary goal to doing the puzzles first. A tanga app for puzzles would be cool and would increase your exposure to the deals too.
Iphones are #1, but don't forget about droids and pre's :) Heck, just make the site WebToolKit compatible and you may not even need an app. (though the app would bring in more people)
a crackberry app.
Fast and free. I would want to be able to purchase directly from the app without being rerouted to the web. Also, I would want it to have most of the features that the website has like all the games. Every company somewhere should have an iPhone app. It's becoming expected like when the internet was first around and companies were starting to create websites. I personally would frequent this site probably 10 times more often if you had an app.
yep iphone app would be great.
[8] Beat me to the punch =]
yes absolutely!!
Alerts if shipment is delayed. Ordered on 11/26 and haven't received any contact concerning the shipment of my tee shirt!
A DORID app
Droid +1 here too
make sure it has push notifications to let you know whenever a new item is available
It's nice to know that 80% of Droid buyers are also on Tanga!
(I kid, I kid)
rather than ipod or droid, just make a mobile version of the website (like touch.facebook.com or m.yahoo.com). Then make a web pointer in ipod & droid app, they are pretty easy to do.
I'm going to give support for an android app and a mobile version of the website. Although the droids web browser is fantastic.
droid app with board games
iphone app with exclusive deals that crack babies and droids dont get (tehehehe)<---burt-n-ernie style laugh
It would be nice to have the tanga App be similar to the ebay app. The ability to buy from the app.
I think you could actually do two separate apps: one for deals/etc and one for puzzles. They aren't related except by the Tanga umbrella, and most people tend to prefer one over the other. This would also keep each app smaller.
I think it would be better to provide OS-agnostic apps like web apps, since there are many OS flavors in the ice cream phone world. ;)
Yep, a Tanga app would be great. The app should be small, lean & simple with fast loading home page of daily deals (with small graphic please) in each category, may be a past deal & sneak peek of upcoming deals, also more convenient when items can be purchase within the app & not having to go to the browser.
tanja,
An iPhone app would be great but an iPhone/Android enhanced version of the website should probably come first.
Vote for an Android app!
Would love to see all the puzzles in a mobile friendly way... And alerts for new Tanga puzzles!
+1 for an Android app. Maybe something that changes icon or something to show there's a new deal since you last checked.
I would think your time might be better spent working on a Blackberry app, since more people have Blackberry phones, or maybe an app that just works on smartphones, regardless of the branding. But back to the main point, I would want that app to provide me the quickest access to the site (very little overhead, fluff, or wasted code) and if I saw something I liked I would want it to provide easy steps to purchase. It might be nice if the address field defaulted to numerical input until the first space, the zip code field might be numerical if you are in the US. I'm sure you will do a good job.
blackberry app here
i need an iphone first
internet on any phone , i would love to see
