I bought one of these here, and they're so cool except for one small thing: they go through batteries in about 2 weeks. There's a cool feature where the thing lights up whenever you move it. Problem is, "moving it" includes "walk by it" or "sneeze somewhere near it".
Perhaps if you turn off the "auto light up" feature this would be better. I need to put batteries in mine so I can try that.
[3] My experience exactly, had the model one-up from this one. Rechargables aren't the answer, hacking the sensor switch would have been the answer. Making it light up when the surface was pressed (ignore first "click") would have been the answer. I can't believe that they beta tested this at all.
For what it's worth, we found that keeping the control on the brick hearth reduced vibrations a bit.
But FWIW2, we've abandoned this line and simply gone to the superior Logitec Harmony system. They have a motion sensor as well, but are much not so unnecessarily sensitive.
[4] Again, I had the model up from this one, but replacing batteries involved the use of a screw driver. And a small amount of manual dexterity my wife could never master. I kid you not. Was a pain to do every couple of weeks, much more often if using rechargeables.
There was so much to like about this remote. Fully programmable, learning. Every key can be assigned via learning. What I didn't like was the membrane keyboard, hard to 'touch type', as well as the battery issues mentioned above. And yes, I did put in rechargeables, but come on, who wants to change batteries every 2 weeks?
The first thing I thought of when I saw this remote had a touch display was how many batteries it would eat up. Even if I used rechargable batteries, it would get annoying having to swap out batteries every couple of weeks. The remote is neat looking though.
I owned this remote, got it as a gift a while back. If you do buy it, please don't fall asleep with it and accidentally roll over it, or have a dog step on it. Either or both will cause it to cease to work, apparently.

I have a hard enough time finding the remote. I certainly do not need one called Kameleon.

[3] try rechargeable batteries? put them on a charger while you sleep, and presto, they are charged in the morning...

[5] It's not a 'hack' to turn off the auto light up, by the way. It's a setting.
