"Incorporates fantastic computer-generated film imagery"! WOW! Just what you need in a board game!

And I think some people were recently talking about that "Based on the movie directed by Robert Zemeckis from a screenplay by Neil Gaiman & Roger Avary" load of hooey, too.

    [1] I wonder if it's in Hi Def :)

[2] Mine looks a little too pixilated. I'm just not geared up for all this new high-tech board gaming.

good deal if I didn't already own both

[4] Ditto. A great deal for two good games.

The theming of B:TMB deserves all the ridicule it receives. It's one of the most ridiculously pasted on themes of any game I own. That it's a tie in to a ridiculous movie is a bonus.

That being said, it's a really terrific abstract strategy game (a retheming and revision of Kingdoms) that is both easy to learn/teach and interesting to play. One of Knizia's better games, IMO, inane theming and "fantastic computer-generated film imagery" be damned!

[5] Isn't Knizia the German word for pasted on theme?

Before I purchase I would like to know how effecting was Ms Jolies charecter in the movie. Would this game be classified for a G rating. Where as the move was not. I have the movie listed as having vulgarity and nudity. What imagery is on the cards.

i JUST played the movie game. I'm a huge beowulf book fan, and even bigger Neil Gaimen fan, and an even BIGGER Knizia fan. Having said that the movie blew goats.

But more importantly, I did just play this game and was amazing at the simplicy, elegance, and fun of the mechanics and game play. I'd highly reccommend it. Great 2 player game in 3 'acts'

I previously bought both and have enjoyed them. The Move Boardgame is a re-themed "Kingdoms" with some minor differences in the board shapes.

[7] There is only one Beowulf and he was Hrothgar's first thane. I will not get two games that claim to make a second Beowulf when there is only one. Not for my family.

    Sorry. Couldn't help myself.

To answer your question seriously, the artwork on B:TMB is entirely G-rated, as is the gameplay (unless you consider very loosely implied mead consumption unsuitable for small children).

I have Kingdoms but I still want the movie game. However, I already have Beowulf the legend as well, so this is not a great deal for me.

    Sigh!!

I really want them to offer the movie game with some other game as a bundle. I understand why these are together....but many of us have one or the other.....

I missed other games in the past, like the B-Movie Card game (Bushwhackin Varmints out of Sergio's Butte) and I would love to pick up two items with one shipping charge.

I've played B:TMG; it's a fun little game that has a lot of (basic) math under the hood. It's fun for anyone, but might be well suited to an after-school program for kids, too, as you could pretty easily argue that it teaches something. As others have said, the theme is G-rated and entirely unnecessary.

    14.50 a game?

Not bad.. and I liked what i read..

I checked out a video review of kingdoms and liked the mechanics of it.

The legend game has a lot of back and forth discussion about luck and risk..seems different enough for me to try it.

    In for 1 set..

    [7] YEAH!

I got this the last time they offered it. Both games are a lot of fun.
