  10. FileRocketTawnos76 on Thu Sep 13, 2007 11:45 AM

    I don't like Mac products.

  11. Head_shotBananajppe5 on Thu Sep 13, 2007 11:45 AM

They must be selling off all the canceled orders.

  12. FileStrawberryaerhead on Thu Sep 13, 2007 11:45 AM

[6] I'm sorry to hear that. It was nice knowing you. R.I.P.

Any cancelled Descent orders still hanging around?

  14. Avatar_profilePeachSenator61 on Thu Sep 13, 2007 11:45 AM

I thought the trash was done at the end of the 'thon? Is it going on for much longer?

Y'know, I've been tempted by this thing on most of the times it's been up. Unfortunately, I have a weird complaint about it... I listen to a lot of AM radio, and it lacks that tuner.

Just makes it "not for me".

  18. Avatar_profileWatermelonVictor on Thu Sep 13, 2007 11:49 AM

[3] davido you are editing your posts too?

What are you a liberal lawyer?

[come to the cheap side, we need more cheap lawyers!]

edit psif this makes no sense to you:
see sunken city blog from in the 90's.

  19. FilePearsabbath on Thu Sep 13, 2007 11:48 AM

[3] Well, usually I like to have a custom crafted line to cut-n-paste just for you, but no one was bothering to post so I just typed something in :)

  20. FilePlumTarrant on Thu Sep 13, 2007 11:50 AM

I have been tempted by this a few times but money is a bit tight at the moment. Does it have an alarm clock as well?

  21. Avatar_profilePeachdavido on Thu Sep 13, 2007 11:51 AM

    [19] aw shucks!
[18] Mr. Pot calls out Mr. Kettle, yessirree and yes, I read the SC blog. I'd love to be a cheap liberal lawyer, buyt the cheap side couldn't afford my not-so-cheap fees.

    Nothx.

  23. FilePumpkinDisreputable on Thu Sep 13, 2007 11:52 AM

My brain is still in whiplash from the last 3 items.
I'm not even sure that this isn't a hallucination.

  24. FileKiwiZot on Thu Sep 13, 2007 11:52 AM

Dang. I put the baby to bed, and miss the trash.

  28. Avatar_profileAppleCavlaw on Thu Sep 13, 2007 11:54 AM

  29. FilePumpkinDisreputable on Thu Sep 13, 2007 11:55 AM

    I still want TRASH!!!
Was that even a real Trash post? Like the Mother post?
    Is TangaMonkey yanking our chains?

  30. FileKiwiZot on Thu Sep 13, 2007 11:57 AM

    [25] True! Very true!

  31. FileBananaArchangel on Thu Sep 13, 2007 11:58 AM

[29] That trash went fast. I have a feeling some people lucked out on that one.

  32. Avatar_profileGarlicBigrob33 on Thu Sep 13, 2007 11:58 AM

It was real. I got it.

  33. Avatar_profileGrapestlee on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:01 PM

I like this. But I paid $8 higher for it when I got it on Aug 17.

  34. Avatar_profilePeachdavido on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:07 PM

The prices are falling, the prices are falling...

  35. FilePumpkinDisreputable on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:08 PM

So ... Tanga Trash came and went ... but the Tangathon is still going ... what's wrong with that picture.

    I think I'm feeling ... this strange ... I'm feeling ...Tangathon burn-out.

  36. Avatar_profilePeachezwrighter on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:08 PM

[33] Would you be happier if the price went up $2? ;-)

  37. FileSailboatIlta on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:09 PM

If you're on the fence: these are going a little higher on ebay -- pick up several and re-sell them!

    (...I just want games)

  38. Avatar_profileAppleCavlaw on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:09 PM

[35] I think we're close to the end. Trash has often been the last item, but it has also been the second- or third-to-last item multiple times as well. I can only think of one or two instances where trash appeared in the middle of a 'thon, or more than once in a 'thon, but I may be imagining those memories...

  39. Avatar_profileCherriesbladefist on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:11 PM

i love ipod stuff. Throw a mp3 player software on a portable HD and watch everyone crap their pants. My comptuer is an ipod.

  40. FilePumpkinDisreputable on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:14 PM

[38] So you think you might be having hallucinations, too?

  41. PhotoPotatokevruth on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:27 PM

I find it funny that have this product for sale since earlier in the Tangathon they offered a Sansa mp3 player that was deemed "an IPod Killer". If everyone bought the Sansa then they didn't need their IPod and they certainly wouldn't need this.......

  42. FilePeachTGov on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:28 PM

anybody else surprise by the way the voting is going on the front page?

  43. FileCarrotpitamuffin on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:29 PM

[33] Uh oh, this sounds just like the great iphone debacle of 2007. Maybe the Tanga folks will give you a partial credit for that $8.00 difference, just like Mr. Jobs did.

  44. FileKiwiBigSpoon816 on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:32 PM

My mystery card pack from the last thon. The only thing I bought is now delivered and waiting at my doorstep. I have a staff meeting to go to. The suspense is killing me. I won't be able to concentrate. Oh if I could only bilocate!

  45. FilePumpkinDisreputable on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:33 PM

[42] Yeah! Who the heck is voting "Yes!!!"?!?!?

  46. FilePearckpete2887 on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:36 PM

    [45] Me.

EDIT: Just because I tanga does not mean that I am a game snob. I'm guessing it applies to all those who said yes. We like the traditional games too. I'm a strategist, and I love killing people at monopoly.

  47. FilePumpkinDisreputable on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:35 PM

[46] How many times did they let you vote?!?

  48. FilePearckpete2887 on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:37 PM

[47] Once. Don't be so judgmental.

  49. Avatar_profilePeachAgentLars on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:39 PM

...'cause I'm not sure the horse is dead yet!

  51. FilePepperpepperhead on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:44 PM

What is the official definition of

    "Woopity Ding Dong"?

    [15]

  52. FilePepperpepperhead on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:48 PM

HEY if enough people vote "yes" to the Monopoly question, maybe they will make a custom Tanga Monkey version of Monopoly.

Like the official Tanga jigsaw puzzle.

  53. FilePearsabbath on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:49 PM

[46] It is good that you seperated the two statements. "I'm a strategist" AND "I love killing people at monopoly". Mutually exclusive.

  54. Avatar_profileStrawberryTygo on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:50 PM

now they're just f'ing with us.

  55. FileOnionJohn on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:51 PM

Did anyone get their Tanga jigsaw puzzle yet?

  56. FilePearckpete2887 on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:53 PM

[53] Not necessarily. I use strategy to kill people at monopoly. My law professors tell me a lot about things being mutually exclusive. I feel as though I'm in class again...

  57. FilePearckpete2887 on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:52 PM

[55] They're still in production. TangaJoe assured me yesterday that they should be in the mail no later than next week.

  58. FilePumpkinDisreputable on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:53 PM

[48] I'm not judgmental, Mr. Presumption!
I just find Monopoly to be tedious, something akin to brain rot, and none of my game playing friends find it interesting either (even in its Star Wars and/or Lord of the Rings reincarnations). I just thought that anyone who’s played a wider variety of games had the same opinion about it.
You’re free to like it, if you want to. There’s no need to get defensive. Geez.
It’s not my fault you like a crappy game.

  59. FilePearsabbath on Thu Sep 13, 2007 12:54 PM

Using 'strategy' in monopoly has nothing to do with being a strategist. :)

  60. FilePearckpete2887 on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:00 PM

[58] I don't have 'gaming' friends. Therefore, beating my friends at Monopoly is the best I get. I don't have the good fortune to be able to play games with 'gamers.' I suppose I'm just jealous (seriously) that my friends don't like games as much as I.

Don't take this as anything but honest. I know it's easy sometimes to read sarcasm into comments here, but I am being completely truthful.

PS- It's Miss, not Mr. And with that, I'm off to evidence.

  61. Avatar_profileOrangeainsworth on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:03 PM

I would like to say that monopoly does happen to be one of the unofficial offical games of the US along with other classics such as poker and chess. Their isn't alot of strategy other then luck and not selling anything you get. But there does happen to be as much strategy as say Risk.

Also does the sandisk on sell happen to work with the ipod shuffle, just curious

  62. Avatar_profileAppleCavlaw on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:03 PM

Hmmm, evidence. I have vague recollections of that class. Far more productive to spend your time addicted to the tangathon!

  63. Avatar_profilePeachSenator61 on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:04 PM

You are obviously going to the wrong law school, ckpete2887, as the buddies from mine will be getting together for some board games in a few hours...

  64. FileRocketTawnos76 on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:04 PM

Give Mega-Monopoly a try. It does make the game a little quicker and so you don't get stuck with marathon games. I like traditional games as well as the newer style.

  65. FilePumpkinDisreputable on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:09 PM

    [60] Fine!

    Miss Presumption.

And now that you've mentioned "law professors", I don't trust you. I know too many lawyers. One of my "gamer" "friends" is a lawyer. (I use "friends" in that manner in reference to the lawyer, not in reference to the adjective "gamer".)
And I take back the comment about “you like a crappy game”. You need different friends. Or better acquaintances. Or geekier friends.

  66. Avatar_profileAppleCavlaw on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:09 PM

Ironic that someone with the handle "Disreputable" would go blasting lawyers... :)

*Sigh* we're just hated everywhere we go...

  67. Avatar_profileStrawberryfigarojones on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:12 PM

I like Monopoly because I hate my family and it shows when we play.

  68. Avatar_profilePeachepoverb1 on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:12 PM

    This item sux. Next please.

  69. Avatar_profileKiwifoxdave on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:12 PM

Tanga Monopoly might be fun for a bit. I can imagine Baltic Avenue replaced by Tanga Trash. Battlelore in place of Boardwalk? Descent in place of Park Place?

In place of jail, you'd have the poor house (from buying too many items, naturally). And free parking could be "Sold Out."

I prefer Tanga Risk myself. I always move my troops to Sandisk Player first. It's easier to defend than Mother the Game, that's for sure. You just have to watch out for the Tangaroos.

  70. Avatar_profileWatermelonVictor on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:15 PM

ug, why do I fear the betty boop version of Monpoly coming next?

  71. FileRocketTawnos76 on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:16 PM

    Nah thats just for UNO.

  72. FilePumpkinDisreputable on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:31 PM

[67] Ok. Because you have ill-will and malice towards others: that is one reason to justify the playing Monopoly.

    But I still don't think that's a reason to LOVE (!!!) Monopoly.

  73. ImagineStrawberryagirlthats4corn on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:29 PM

How often do they offer multiple tanga trash during a thon?

  74. Avatar_profilePlumSaphon on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:30 PM

We've done themed Monopolies to death.

We need Tanga Modern Art. Think about it.

    Fixed Price Auction:
"I'll sell this priceless... um... three pack of themed Uno for $24"

"But last turn, you were willing to sell it for $22!"

  75. Avatar_profileAppleGuantanamo on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:32 PM

gggrrr, been teaching a training class the past twoish hours. I was going to buy some trash this time (cause I haven't found anything else to spend my money on).

Hoity Toity with a Tanga theme??? Isn't uberplay the distributor for hoity toity? They could probably make that happen ;-)

  78. Avatar_profilePeachAgentLars on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:37 PM

A few years ago I found a Risk/Monopoly variant that "seemed" interesting... in a snowed in for a weekend with nothing to do sort of way. I think it basically involved moving your armies only after you have passed GO.

  79. Avatar_profileStrawberryfigarojones on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:37 PM

[72] Let me rephrase. I LOVE Monopoly because I hate society, and the two go hand in hand. Simply by playing it, I'm bringing the end of the world one step nearer. Monopoly is the devil's tool, and since I am evil, I must love it.

  80. Avatar_profileStrawberrydfharrin on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:40 PM

So, since we are off topic: given the recent higher frequency of Tangathons, I wonder if there is a chance that Tanga are considering going into permanent "rolling product" (Tangathon) mode. There are some other DoD sites out there that do this.

  81. Avatar_profileStrawberryLeepinLeemur on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:40 PM

[80] I was also curious about that and if someone is already doing that type of thing. I'd be interested in what sites are doing that, though not sure how you'd want to share that info.

  82. Avatar_profileStrawberrydfharrin on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:42 PM

[81] They aren't really a competitor, so I'll mention steepandcheap.com, who sell mostly sporting goods.

  83. Avatar_profilePeachezwrighter on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:43 PM

The question should be: Do toothless, crack smoking whores who have been up 24/7 doing their nails and coke, love monopoly?

  84. FilePearckpete2887 on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:48 PM

[66] Yes we are... I think they try to get us to think differently too much and people don't understand that. Also, don't worry, I'm tangathoning in class! SIlly evidence...

  85. FilePearsabbath on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:48 PM

    [74] Genius!

[83] No, they don't have time to play games when they're turning tricks. :(

  86. FilePumpkinDisreputable on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:49 PM

[83] Hmm. Do they harbor hate for society?

  87. FileRocketTawnos76 on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:50 PM

[81] theres also Thingfling.com mostly electronics with a counter showing how many are left and how much time left till the next item shows.
If you want to see all the DoD sites at once go to
    http://www.dodtracker.com/oneaday/
This is a great tool for checking them all out and Tanga is usually at the top (especially when a thon is going on)

  88. FileAppleFez on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:51 PM

  91. FileRadishcthulhu on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:53 PM

[80][81] If Tanga did that, IMHO I think it would lose much of its appeal.

  92. Avatar_profileStrawberrydfharrin on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:54 PM

[91] Oh, I wasn't advocating for that -- in fact I'd dread it. But the tangathons have been coming more frequently and lasting longer lately, no?

  93. FilePearckpete2887 on Thu Sep 13, 2007 01:56 PM

[84] [66] You know, that's not really totally true. I remember Tanya, Kelly, Ellen, Jean, Jennifer, Syd, Karen, Nicole ... all very fondly. Especially Tanya, she was really into those Iron Woman triathlons ... wow, yeah. And I remember Patrick, and ... uh ... what’s his name, and Grimes, and ... well, there were a few guys, and they were ok. Paralegals were usually pretty cool, as a whole.
