I am having no AH HA yet

  2. FileXylophoneQurqirishDragon on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:08 PM

Well, it isn't a regulation bingo card. I wonder if the numbers we see are a help (or just the ones below the card)

  3. Bunny91Garlicheatherlouwho on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:10 PM

    Huh?

  4. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:11 PM

    [3] Hey, that's MY line

  5. Pix__8RocketBanana80 on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:13 PM

we've had one "ah ha" moment but it didn't get us very far...

  6. Bunny91Garlicheatherlouwho on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:14 PM

[4] LOL! I'll give it back when I'm done. I promise! Scout's honor!

  7. FileTomatobcgrote on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:15 PM

'retirement' is not correct. Oh well... So what is?

  8. FileXylophoneQurqirishDragon on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:17 PM

The only think I can see to work on is that 67 is the only number below the card that is also visible on the card. Hopefully that is a clue....

edit: And the 67th character in the intro text is an 'N' - but that doesn't give a word with the other numbers.

  9. FileEggplantouredman on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:17 PM

i get frontahn - must be wrong path

  10. Avatar_12-08Pancakesthreehojos on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:19 PM

[9] yes, I got the same thing!

  11. FileEggGamesX4 on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:20 PM

If you take the numbers on the card and match them to the number of the letter in the "clue" statement, all give you the right answer except the 67, 68, 69. the N goes to the G, the G goes to the O, and the O goes to the N. No idea if that means anything

  12. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:20 PM

Ummm, is the creator around? 20 minutes and 0 solves might merit at least a grain of salt.

  13. FileClockJewelia on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:21 PM

[8] and [9] I got L where you have O, but the numbers on the card itself are intriguing . . .

  14. FilePepperVerve640 on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:23 PM

[11],[13] - Try counting the hyphen...

  15. FileClockJewelia on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:22 PM

[11] By my count, all are in the correct columns, but I'm not sure what to do with that.

  16. FileEggplantouredman on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:22 PM

if we're on the right path, you also count the hyphen.

  17. FileGarlicHope2002 on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:22 PM

I tried counting a lot of numbers and that wasn't it. Kinda glad. I'm getting tired of counting numbers.

  18. FileClockJewelia on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:24 PM

I wonder if we need to do something with the images on the card. If so, are some of the coins heads and others tails, and if so, is that important?

  19. FileXylophoneQurqirishDragon on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:24 PM

[13] if you count the hyphen, then they line up correctly.

  20. AvatarDuckiesteph_frolin on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:24 PM

Looks like we all have the same AHA from the statement, now what. It's not boingo, gong or geriatrics

  21. FilePancakesMysticalmelody on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:27 PM

I would have no clue what to do with the images... I think the creator needs to do some salting, or if anybody has managed to solve...

  22. FileXylophoneQurqirishDragon on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:29 PM

Well, I made a letter position chart in Notepad , so if I get any other ideas, I don't have to keep counting them.

  23. FileSailboattrumanj on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:29 PM

[21] he hasn't done anything on tanga in over a month....

  24. FileClockJewelia on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:30 PM

[21] Don't hold your breath. Apparatus has no Tanga activity since Feb. 12!

  25. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:30 PM

    [23] Oh, great!

  26. FileXylophoneQurqirishDragon on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:31 PM

I just check the profile of the designer, and he hasn't earned any points since February 12. I don't think help is coming from that direction.

edit: we all got the same idea about that at the same time too. How eerie.

  27. FilePancakesMysticalmelody on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:31 PM

[23] sucky.... well in lieu of creator salting perhaps Aaron could help out if there are still no solvers for a while.

  28. FilePepperslobeavis on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:32 PM

Can we say "this is the worst puzzle ever" yet?

  29. FileXylophoneQurqirishDragon on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:34 PM

If you ignore the hyphen, and use the above idea- but change 67 to an N (since it is on the card in that column), you get "frontman" That's not the answer, but at least I got a word ! :-/

  30. FilePancakesMysticalmelody on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:34 PM

i have a feeling the fact that the numbers match the letters is a red herring :P

  31. Pix__8RocketBanana80 on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:34 PM

i wonder if he'd come back if he knew his puzzle was posted... anyone got his number? :-P

  32. AvatarDuckiesteph_frolin on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:34 PM

[28] We're nowhere near that, trust me. Everyone else getting that pesky "h" near the end?

  33. Pix__8RocketBanana80 on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:35 PM

    [32]yep

  34. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:35 PM

And we thought the Grease puzzle was hard - at least that one was unfeatured!

  35. FileSailboatyelowflower on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:36 PM

    [32] yup

  36. FileTomatobcgrote on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:37 PM

    WOOT!! 1st!!! Wheeeeeeeee!!!!

Perfect sense. Funny, we had a bunch of these on Plime.com yesterday!!

  37. Ronald-mcd-3EggKilgore on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:37 PM

    2 completions

  38. FileSailboatyelowflower on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:37 PM

uh oh, someone solve...we are in trouble now!!!

  39. FileTomatotlmitch7 on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:38 PM

2 people have solved this puzzle

  40. FileSailboatyelowflower on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:38 PM

and neither one of them is me :o(

  41. FileTomatobcgrote on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:38 PM

    [20] gave me the nudge.

  42. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:38 PM

Please, some salt from the solvers

  43. FileSailboattrumanj on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:42 PM

    ignore the hyphen like [29]

  44. Avatar_profileEggMonoRojo on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:40 PM

Got it 2nd because I stopped working and guessed what the clue was, and it turns out the clue is wrong.
The puzzlemaker's counting got off somehow. The bottom line of numbers should be:

    19 22 53 18 12 77 72 67

  45. FileSailboatyelowflower on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:43 PM

ok, great salt...isn't giving me the OFCOL yet tho...

  46. AvatarDuckiesteph_frolin on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:44 PM

    [44] plus [20] equals a solve.

  47. Ronald-mcd-3EggKilgore on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:45 PM

    groan

  48. FileXylophoneQurqirishDragon on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:45 PM

Got it! my guess in [29] is MAJOR salt!

  49. FileDuckienrkii on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:45 PM

wow, I could have had this a long time ago if I had made as much sense of what is on the bingo card as I did of what was below...

  50. FileSailboatyelowflower on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:46 PM

the front man in bingo would be the caller, but that isn't it

  51. FileGarlicHope2002 on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:47 PM

I got a word, but I don't get where to take it.

  52. FileGarlicHope2002 on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:47 PM

    [50] That's where I went with it.

  53. FileXylophoneQurqirishDragon on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:48 PM

[50] Frontman is one of two needed clues. The second is ready-to-order on the card itself. [which gives what [53] posted)

  54. FileClockJewelia on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:49 PM

    That was rather annoying.

  55. FilePancakesMysticalmelody on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:49 PM

    very annoying

  56. FileXylophoneQurqirishDragon on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:50 PM

Actually, if the numbering on the bottom was correct, it would have been a fine, though tough, puzzle. I was already working with the right info, but I was looking for stuff in the lyrics of "Bahama Mamas" since front-man didn't spell out correctly.

  57. FileSailboatyelowflower on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:49 PM

hhmm...nope, still lost...thanks for trying tho

  58. FileGarlicHope2002 on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:57 PM

That puzzle sucked really really really bad.

Edit: The numbers being off was very annoying.

  59. FileSailboatyelowflower on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:50 PM

the count was right...just don't count the hyphen

  60. FileGarlicHope2002 on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:50 PM

I was looking for the frontman of the group Bahama Mamas. It didn't work though.

  61. FileGarlicHope2002 on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:51 PM

I counted the hyphen to get the one answer, but I wasn't supposed to for the other?

  62. FileDuckieescKey on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:51 PM

[53] Thank you!! And I agree.

  63. FileXylophoneQurqirishDragon on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:53 PM

[60] without the hyphen, you get "frontmai," is either one number or two numbers were wrong (depending on whether or not you count the hyphen.)

edit: well, I'm going to bed now. See you all tomorrow night :-)

  64. FileEggplantouredman on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:53 PM

count was off....if you don't count the hyphen, then you don't get "n" for 67.

  65. FileSailboatyelowflower on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:54 PM

hhmm, then I can't count, cuz the second time I did it I got frontman lol

thanks for the group name [53] I had no idea that was a band and thought you were referring to US going bonkers here trying to solve this one. ;o)

I solved it from yours when my brain figured out what you really meant

  66. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:56 PM

    [64] Stop that!

  67. FilePumpkinsuigeneris on Fri Apr 04, 2008 07:59 PM

wow! almost 10 o'clock and I am 54th. Lucky I was a fan in the 80's. At least someone corrected the math! I was starting to question the confusing, and even weird science required to solve this one.

  68. FileGarlicHope2002 on Fri Apr 04, 2008 08:00 PM

I was a big fan, always went on halloween.

  69. FileSailboatyelowflower on Fri Apr 04, 2008 08:01 PM

um [68]? uh there IS no [64]

  70. FileSailboattrumanj on Fri Apr 04, 2008 08:02 PM

i'm kindof glad it was wrong, I got 3rd, and there is no way that would have happened had the math been right :)

  71. FilePumpkinsuigeneris on Fri Apr 04, 2008 08:02 PM

[71] maybe we need to count the hyphen?

  72. FileSailboatyelowflower on Fri Apr 04, 2008 08:05 PM

[73] I truly hope that is a joke

  73. FileTomatotlmitch7 on Fri Apr 04, 2008 08:06 PM

That was strange, thanks (what I think what was [64], it is gone now, gave it away), got it from that. Top 100 on all four puzzles tonight, first time.

  74. FileSailboatyelowflower on Fri Apr 04, 2008 08:07 PM

I got top 100 on all too [75] and it is also a first for me

  75. FilePumpkinsuigeneris on Fri Apr 04, 2008 08:07 PM

    [74] yeah, I do that sometimes ;)

  76. FileSailboatyelowflower on Fri Apr 04, 2008 08:09 PM

[77] whew, thanks, I'm glad cuz I really really hate it when I have to stay nice when someone else isn't. lol

  77. FileTomatotlmitch7 on Fri Apr 04, 2008 08:18 PM

yea, there was a [64], after he spilled all the salt, he said 'then go back and punch the creator of the puzzle'. I guess it wasn't up for long and was removed.

  78. FilePancakesepaz on Fri Apr 04, 2008 09:46 PM

    [69] nice salt :-)

  79. AvatarDuckiesteph_frolin on Sat Apr 05, 2008 07:56 AM

3 hours and only 90 solves...[40] Has a puzzle correction for newcomers. Otherwise its a deadman's party.

EDIT - [44] and below that is.

  80. FileEggRPardoe on Fri Apr 04, 2008 10:24 PM

[44] has the puzzle correction - which I will repeat here.

The puzzlemaker's counting got off somehow. The bottom line of numbers should be:

    19 22 53 18 12 77 72 67

  81. FileRocketTrinSF on Fri Apr 04, 2008 11:25 PM

Pesky, I guessed and made 97th.

  82. FileSailboatdagibbs on Sat Apr 05, 2008 07:32 AM

    Guessed from all the salt.

  83. ApparatusGrapesApparatus on Sat Apr 05, 2008 08:49 AM

wow... I worked on this puzzle nearly a year ago and it wasn't accepted as a great idea, so never tested it. My apologies that it was actually used - I didn't know until my wife stumble across it this morning.

Yes, it was hastily constructed and still somehow published. This is at least the 2nd time that has happened. I wonder if there is a way to delete your submitted puzzles yet... Off to check.
